Cam Carmical with a last second shot from beyond the half court line.....for the win!!!!

Watched it on tv, replay shows it was a tad late but still one heck of a shot.
#5
What a game, replay shows the ball still in his hands at the buzzer.

Figured you would edit. Crazy crazy ending. That will be the replay for years to come! Carmical is a great player. As are many of the Cordia boys
#7
There should not even been 1 sec on the clock this is a joke

Yup, you caught me. I would have never dreamed that Carmical would hit that shot!

Congrats to the Black Bears continuing their undefeated season and moving to 16-0!

I'am a Hazard fan! Cordia got screwed both calls were wrong!

The worst reffing I've ever seen. Cordia shot with 1.6 seconds on the clock and the ball rolled around the rim almost 3 times then went in and the time ran out. The one red was already signaling for a time out while the ball was still on the rim and nobody can even call a time out until the ball clears the net. There should have been .2 on the clock and the same ref that signaled the time out ran over and told the time keeper to put 1.1 seconds on the clock. That's not even the bad part. When Harlan county brought the ball in he took 2 dribbles then a step then shot the ball and it was obvious to everybody on the gym that the ball was still on his hand except the same referee and he counted the basket. The worst taking of a game I've seen in a long time
#11
And I'm not even sure u can add time in high school
#12
I think you can add time, that's a correctable call. He took one dribble but on replay it was clearly still in his hands. Hard to tell a full speed initially due to the camera angle but typically that's a catch and shoot situation.

Cordia got the screws!!

If true, wow! It definitely wouldn't have counted if they had replay, but I was thinking there was a lot accomplished in 1 second while I watched it. Either way, congrats on a awesome shot by Carmichael.

These 15th region refs are clowns this is a stunt that Charles Kurk would pull now I grant you that was a hell of a shot but he should not even got a chance to take it time was out this is an absolute shame for these cordia kids if they had just bet them I wouldn't say a word but this is just wrong to do kids that way I hope they can sleep good at night.

Late or not, ESPN just asked WYMT if they could feature this shot on Sports Center Top 10 Plays tonight.

Pathetic, Cordia won the game. Refs are jokes.

It would fit right in with the Kansas buzzer beater. Walk chalk Jayhawk. Lol.
#19
Should Harlan County's coach do the honorable thing and tell Cordia to move on in the winners bracket and they take a loss?
#20
I just talked to cordia coach and when the refs put the 1.1 second back on the clock he ran over and said to the red that he seen .3 on the clock and the ref said "yeah but we will go ahead and give them a second. Same ref made all the bad calls
#21
Shot was late but heck of a shot
Feel bad for the lions
#22
To be fair I couldn't tell that he didn't get it off until they slowed the replay way down. I could see how a referee would miss that call as it happened live. Very unfortunate for Cordia. That was an incredible shot. It stinks that Cordia won't move on but that's how life goes sometimes.
#23
it is what it is and it don't mean nothing but a W for the Bears

I agree I've seen all the games in the wymt and the 15th officials are terrible they robbed Cordia they probably cost perry girls the game and been pitiful in the rest of the games they have done
#25
Cordia got robbed. End of story. Great shot by the HC kid but Cordia won the game. It's pitiful how much the refs in eastern KY dictate the outcome of games.
#26
Heck of a shot! Haters are gonna hate! Hits off to HC Black Bears.

Hitter you are wrong concerning when they were allowed to call the timeout. Watch the replay closely. The ball goes through the net with 2 seconds and then Harlan calls timeout
#28
Who were the ref's?

Paparazzi Wrote:Hitter you are wrong concerning when they were allowed to call the timeout. Watch the replay closely. The ball goes through the net with 2 seconds and then Harlan calls timeout

cordia didn't even shoot the ball until 1.6 seconds on the clock. when the ball was on the rim rolling around there was .6 on the clock.and so what your telling me is the refs took time away from Harlan county. it might have had .2 ive looked at every replay. and even after all of he caught the ball with his back to his basket and pivoted and took 2 dribbles then shot. they tell us as refs that you cant take more than 1 dribble and get the shot off so just by what they tell us the refs should have been waving the basket off..and all the refs had to do was walk over and look at the replay and made the right call
#30
Was not there, did not see the shot, but just because the shot goes in doesn't mean it should count. It is hard to think that a player can receive a take a dribble and then heave a shot from beyond half court in 1.1 seconds. Time keeper or clock system is probably more to blame than the official who counted the bucket.
