mysonis55 Wrote:Been busy fellas. Loading up the bus with extra keg of Mayfield water. No, Bright isn't playing. He is fully capable but, they don't see a need to risk him getting injured for anything that only counts for bragging rights. If they were gonna do that, it would have been against the crosstown buzzards. Now, as far as the game. Even with the Cards flying a tad bit lower without Bright, they are still too much for the hounds of red. The old red bone doggies will be game but, they gotta pray for another rain storm to be able to stay close.
My predictions:
If Raining
MHS 21
CHS 13
If no rain
MHS 42
CHS 14

I think this Corbin team is a lot better than years past. With or without Mayfield's star I will take the hounds 24-18.

Off the subject, but Mayfield is a 4A football team in a 1A school. They will win this game by at least 3 touchdowns. Trajon Bright is the best running back in western Kentucky, but the best I've seen this year was Friday night at Marquette Stadium. Forget his name but Pulaskey Academy's smallish tailback was better and faster than Bright I swear. They were taller, bigger, faster than anyone who has ever played in Western Kentucky. McCracken can never win the battle of words around here as if we don't play better teams we are dodging and will not get better. When we do play better teams we are crazy for doing that and on and on.

Pulaski Academy is basically a prep school that has the funding to play a national schedule. They should have played a Trinity or Male if they wanted to boost their national ranking. They've already traveled to Oklahoma, Utah and Kentucky this year.. There's college teams that haven't traveled that much..

We haven't been held to less than 42 points in a game yet. I am willing to bet that McCracken's defense is better than that of the red bone hounds. At the end of Friday night we will have that answer. If memory serves me, they had only given up 14 points through there first 3 games and 7 of that was on their jv. And PT was one of those teams. PT is always good for at least one break away score with the speed they have.
09-18-2016, 05:18 PM
I forgot, the other 7 was on their offense. It was a pick 6 by Madisonville NH.
09-18-2016, 05:37 PM
Correction, I forgot about the 18 points the Stangs gave up to Warren Central. I think that was also on their jv.

I will go with Corbin red hounds by score of 20-14

It seems at least a couple in the Mayfield camp think that this will be a blowout victory. Has Mayfield improved that much since the Corbin/Mayfield game last year? Does Mayfield think Corbin is not as good as last year? Just curious as to why since the game was not a blowout last year, that this year will be?
09-18-2016, 08:18 PM
I'm beginning to think mayfield defense isn't as good this year seem like they are giving up a lot of points this year.....:Cheerlead
09-18-2016, 08:20 PM
Yeah I agree 64 I think if thier supposed be good and improved they wouldn't given up much points on defense like they did my personal opinion
09-18-2016, 08:22 PM
I'm sure Mayfield is a awesome team with a lot of speed and obviously well coached.... But for you 55..... You are either jus being silly or plain dumb with your scores.... There isn't a team in 2a or 3a for that matter that would hang that score on Corbin. I'm not gonna garentee a win on Friday, but I will tell you that the hounds are better than last year and better than your predictions.... Rain, Snow, Sleet or shine you won't win by those numbers... If I were you, I'd just try to win by an XP.

I was at the game last year. I was impressed with Corbin , well coached and tough. But they didn't have a lot of team speed. And that's where it could be a game changer. Mayfield will have more speed all over the field than Corbin. There likely will be a couple of match up problems for Corbin on the outside and Mayfield will try to exploit this. Set up the pass so Mayfield can run. If Corbin can move the ball and score some while keeping it out of Mayfield's hands they may have a chance but right now I like the score of: Mayfield 35
Corbin 14
Corbin 14

I haven't seen Corbin in person this season probably like you haven't seen Mayfield. I did see last seasons game and thats what i'm going on. Mayfield's overall team speed will be the difference. From what I've seen and heard you're not too good picking against Mayfield.

I'm not slighting the red bone hounds. Truth is, last year it was the perfect storm for them, literally. First, we lost Bright the week before. That meant Tyler I'd not get to much practice at back before the game. He has been playing a limited role there all season and has 1 more full game of experience. Second, you are not gonna believe the speed at wr this year. Third, as far as the defense goes, look what Marshall Co has done since playing us and McCracken would hang more than 50 on the red bone hounds. It isn't like we have played the twin Fulton's. When you play good offenses, you give up points. No biggie fellas, you have just five days to doubt me before the wake up call.

I wouldnt bet against Mayfield, but with Corbin being much improved i doubt it will be a blowout either way. I figure it will be a great game. Mayfield definitly has a lot of speed, but Corbin has played some good teams that has speed to. 64 aint to confident i can tell or he would respond agreeing to wear a Mayfield shirt if the Red Bones lose. Im glad Mayfield is playing this game win or lose it will make them better. They need a good test, cause some of Mayfields opponents aint as good as years past.

Lay of the moonshine 64, 55 is talking about this year. The boys in Orange, and Blue are 3-1 this year after getting pigstomped by Mayfield in game 1 have won 3 straight. True the 3 teams they have beat aint world beaters, but the Marshals are very improved. 55 doesnt know it, but i snuck them a sip of Mayfield water seems to have helped.

55 would let the west dry up before he would let anyone have any water on the west side of the state. Just ask the good folks in Fulton and Fulton City.:igiveup::igiveup:

64 may bet the shirt but he won't wear it. Here it's been 2 years and he hasn't yet.
Yes, I was referring to this years Marshall's. We put 42 on them and look at what they've done since then. They handed Calloway their first loss too.
In addition to the change in backs last year, we also played in a monsoon. That kept us from being able to spread the ball as much as they will see this year.
Guys, you can question my thoughts all you want, just remember Friday after the game, I told you so. The high octane offense minus Bright is still a rolling.

64, how much better than the 2014 Williamsburg team is these red bone hounds?
09-19-2016, 01:18 AM
I have not seen Mayfield this year but I will say this, Corbin is pretty dang good.
The Hounds are hardnosed and have more speed than you might think. Corbin is a better team at home, but a neutral site in this case might be good enough.
I am pulling for the Mountain team, but I do think it will be an up hill battle.

All I'm going to say is in 2014

Williamsburg total offense 372 yards
Mayfield total offense 187 yards
I can tell you this...This schedule was put together 2 years ago to prepared them for belfry......This year is a Payback Tour and the tour bus is arriving Friday night at Lindsey Wilson College. :worthy::worthy::worthy:
