Whitley County 20 Bell County 6
#1
Final.

The streak ends.

Good defense tonight by Whitley.

Bells only gains were handing it off to the big FB and letting him run through tackles, but that doesn't always work.

Kudos to Whitleys coachs for getting this one right. They had a good defensive game plan tonight. Offense still needs major work. Weak passing game.

Way to go Colonels Big Grin

I ended up watching it on tv and WCHS was in control the whole game. There was a short stint in the 3rd, one series, when it seemed Bell could tie it up but when they didn't, the game never really seemed in jeopardy again. I hope those Bell folks who were dead sure that history would prevent this from happening are ok tonight.

Hats off the WCHS coaching staff for a big win for the program.

definitely. The defensive coordinator is way better than the one they had last year. This was a great effort with their best defensive lineman out of the game.

God - both Bobcats squads are non factors in 3A. Never would have dreamed it.

Whitley barely missed with a few daggers that could have put the game away early.I was impressed with how they attacked bell on offense and played stout defense.

Whitley had a chance to really blow this game open but give Bell credit, they didn't break on defense and there offense kept Whitleys defense on the field the entire 3rd quarter.

Good win for the Colonels

Whitley is a solid team.. I liked them at the hazard scrimmage.

It's like dietpepsidrinker said, that first game blowout said as much about corbin being good as it did Whitley being bad.
Whitley has a shot at district but Harland county and North Laurel will both be really close games.

Congrats to the Coloneis, the streak is over and looks like Whitley Co will be on the other end of this one for a few years...

Those are def. Whitley helmets with the middle red/black stripe down the middle from around 99 to 06 until they went back to black. It looks like the lightning bolt jerseys we got my senior year but the pic is blurry and almost look orange??

It pains me to read a post like this...

No Coaching at all? You better check this dude's record. You're the start of a Letcher Central fan base. Does it pain you Frazier coaches at Whitley? You have the second best head coach ever at Bell. You guys better not start that shit on him....or you'll have a coach you really don't like.

Bells qb really struggled throwing the ball and it allowed Whitley to overload the box.
When he did get a pass off it was a Duck that bells receivers only caught when they were wide open. Whitley definitely dared them to throw but bells coach knows what he has and stuck with it. I would have kept feeding the big full back which is what they did on there lone score.
Whitleys qb looked the same way on about half his throws but he has moments where he throws a perfect ball and it works.
If Bell had a good qb with a passing game, they could be a tough out

Didn't mean it that way I meant more like he didn't have a lot of help and support on the side line and I don't start crap like that but u prob should keep that puffer to yourself I mean I am saying that to me I am not used to seeing things so un organized

Congrats to Colonels. Good to get that Monkey off their back.

You was on your way to a good Point & post...but I don't have a puffer and I'm not a puffer. Im not used to seeing it either and believe it or not I'm for you guys. The point I was trying to make is blaming a new coach that has a pretty good record is not good for the program. You post what you like and deal with the consequences. But I can tell ya, LCC has had the best of coaches and bad mouthed them to leave. I wouldn't blow this guy too much smoke. You might end up with a middle school assistant...
#22
Not hard to beat Bell put 8 in the box and dare them to throw it because if Bells QB didnt have to exist between the snap and hand off he wouldnt be playing anyways not on here to talk trash im just saying face the facts..Bells problem is that they are one dimensional you cant really blame the head coach he got threw under the bus this season and thats a stickler for him but thats the way it is..i knew Whitley would beat Bell and havent seen the rest of Bells schedule this year but i highly doubt they will pull off too much after everything that has been going on..the famous words from Rob Schnieder in the water boy

"Oh no..we suck again"

I agree totally and I pull for you guys when we aren't playing you all I am worried that with lack of support we may just end up with exactly that I hope he can turn this thing around cause some of these a$@!& will blame him and I don't like crap like that I hope he is around as long as he wants to be

You have to remember, these Bell kids didn't even have a coach the entire winter to guide them on lifting, and then hire somebody that has to come in and earn respect because hes not really known to the casual fan.
Its gonna take some time. Who knows if it was a good hire, but IMHO, Bell made a tremendous mistake letting Mills go. Im sure he'll love being on the sideline when its time to meet up with Corbin.

Humfleet was a huge loss.

BC Fever I understand your frustration. HC went from the team that finally beat Bell to couldn't beat anyone. I have more respect for Bell County than you will ever know. I got tossed from BGP over Mitchell and the Helicopter night.

This Coach is ROCK SOLID. He has State Championships in Alabama. Enough Said. Losing to an opponent you're not used to is tough. I bet when HC finally beat you guys they was suicide in the air. But it happens and its why we play the game. Bell has been so good for so long its tough to take this loss.

This is what I'll tell you. Robinson was one of the best to ever come out of East Ky. Davenport made you guys for the most part unbeatable from the day he stepped on the field. Fans never realize the talent of these kids until they are gone. HC Fans roughed up the class of '13 that lost to Cooper in the State Semi's. Those kids left and the realization set in...these kids were pretty damed good!

Didn't mean to ruffle you up brother...I just don't want to see you guys get on a guy that is very good and flying well under the radar.

Letting Wayne Mills go was Bell Co's demise. Guess they can always go for a Dudley 3-peat.

I would have picked Bell with Humfleet.
He could have easily made this a different story tonight.
