My take on the game was the better team won, and they were very fortunate to do so because they were flat outplayed. They just had more talent to pull it out. I just hope JC can get buy SC tomorrow night and coach Starns takes a good look at the film of tonights game because MC definatley had the blueprint on how to handle P-ville. P-ville does an ok job defending the entry to the post but once it get in there they don't defend at all. If you don't run with them and keep it to a half court game and a constant feed down low P-ville is very beatable by anyone. If you press and run with them when they are hot get ready for baseball. Although basketball is just something to pass the time and keep in shape for baseball anyway. On a side not if I were Wendell I would have had to whipp Duff when I got off the court because he makes more calls on Wendell's side of the court than he does his own, but the refs didn't cost them the game they were just beat by a better team. Congrats to MC they played with alot of heart and it was hard to see you get beat.

MC played the game they needed to, to stay in this. They slowed it down and ran their offense and ran it well. They have no reason what so ever to hang their heads. They did a great job. The Tigers finally got one at the end. The have been beat at the end in quite a few this year. Now that we got this one out of the way, let's get ready for Friday night. Cause whoever we play their going to come out the same way. I'm just glad Landon is OK, I thought they were going to squash him after that shot. LOL! After he got off of the bottom of that pile his face was as red as his head! LOL! Poor fella! LOL! Congrats Tigers! Now let's get that District!

Now i know im goin to get blasted by alot of people on here but here i go anyway i dont care Landon Slone walked on that last shot and if you dont believe me i will bring you the tape and let you watch it and if im not mistaken MOST refs call charge when you force yourself between two defenders.... now i know Pville fans will deny it because they didnt have the view that we had.... Todd Duff is a horrible ref and imo shouldnt have been aloud to ref this district tourney or atleast this game
Bak the truck up, The refs always do a good job right. Well anytime I said a thing about the refs it was I was full of crap. Well I guess you guys just got a little taste of what we had the entire year at home or away. Magoffin does have a good team, and told you all that they would protect paintsville. All by the way he is horrible.

Shoot back in '82...Todd Duff could throw a football over them Mountains....hahahah, had to throw a little Napoleon Dynamite in there before bed.
03-01-2006, 04:58 AM
Is this true i hope not...i heard landon slone rode a donkey to the game then at halftime he come out of the locker room riding it and it bit a magoffin countys players finger off
03-01-2006, 05:50 AM
This was a great game by the Tigers. Man I was sweating nails. I hope evryone on the bottom of that pile up survived. haha Sorry for your season had to end hornets, you sure played a heck of a game.
03-01-2006, 06:14 AM
Magoffin deserved this win more but it just didn't turn out that way. Magoffin played their hearts out, so no reason at all to hang there heads on this game. Rice was outstanding tonight for the Hornets it just seemed like he quit getting the ball down low towards the end of the game.

Did Todd's mom have her usual seat at last nights ball game?

You know, about the officating and all. paintsville beat magoffin fair and square but my point is. Does anyone remember the call that Duff made when A magoffin player was on the other side of the court and called a carry on him, and could no possible way to see if it was a carry. Onther call is when Tyler hunley was guarding mayb pugh, he was 2 feet away from pugh and they called a push on him?

Some of you are rediculous!!!
The first 2 fouls called on Paintsville were called on Landon, and both by Duff!!
I know that a lot of you all have said that Landon was protected and all...well if he was..you have succeeded in getting him unprotected!!! You can't go there any more!
yeah w/e it is the same story every time, this year jc will proly win and p-ville the next. it is actually pretty pethetic if you ask me no matter who is datin who's mom!!

Like it or not the refs protect Paintsville. I was standing against the wall last night under the MC goal....(on the end next to the doors for those of you who know the layout of that gym) and three Paintsville players went up for a rebound. MC's boys knew they didn't have the ball so they had already started sprinting back the other way. The player who came away with that rebound....dropped the ball out of bounds. I was standing like 6 feet from them looking them in the face. Wendell was standing just to my right with just as a good a view as I had....he called Paintsville ball.
And the guy who stated that Landon walked on that final shot...you were right he did...and he also charged when he lowered his shoulder and plowed between two MC players toward the basket. Speaking of which, how many times do you get to lower your shoulder and plow another player over before it's a foul? I'd like the official rules on that one so I can tell my boys to lower away and not worry about it until they get to that magical number where they will begin calling the charge. If it had been called like it should have been every player wearing a Paintsville jersey would have fouled out.
MC, you played a tough game and I was heartsick at sound of that buzzer. You played with heart and you never gave up so my hats off to you all. Keep your heads up for you have NOTHING to be ashamed of or discouraged by. KUDOS to the whole MC bunch...

Paintsville,Magoffin and Lawrence are the best three teams in this district IMO. It' a shame they can't take them all to the region.
03-01-2006, 01:34 PM
Anyone that thinks Duff protects Paintsville is down right crazy. Duff has always hated Paintsville. Before the game, we all saw Duff and said, "Oh #$^%, Duff is reffing. We'll have a chance as long as he doesn't screw us like always does." Both teams got away with calls last night.
Congrats to both teams on a very entertaining game.
Good luck to Paintsville in the finals.

No, but I do remember when Johnny Webb called an over the back and Todd made sure that Slone went to the line for the free throws and he was nowhere near the play.

How is that any different than Wes Helton lowering his shoulder every time he rolls or spins to the basket. EVERY time I have watched Paintsville and Magoffin play the last 2 years Helton has done that. I have told Kevin Williams over and over to take a charge when Helton does that, but Williams never has.
Congrats Paintsville on the victory, better get your heads right before Friday though cause neither JC or SC is gonna lay down, they are gonna be coming at you with all cylinders.

Look at my post, Landon had 3, and I beleive Blake had 2 and Grimm had 1. Not sure I left my stuff in my car! We only had 10 for the game. Not bad, considering we only made 22 shots!!
