Clay County Girls Basketball Future
#1
I think the future is looking really bright for the Lady Tigers. Burchell currently plays 1 Sophomore, 3 Freshman, 1 8th Grader, and 1 7th Grader in his 7 girl rotation. If they can stick together I believe in a few years they will be really good.

Totally agree. Ivy is hands down the best coach in this area, no way this year's version of his team should be almost beating what North has this year, but he has scared them twice, and it wouldn't shock me at all if they pulled it off in the district finals. They'll be better next year, and in two years they may be set up to be right back on top of the region.

I agree with both of the previous posts. This is a little different group than most of the Lady Tiger teams of the past. This group has lots of shooters, guard heavy, whereas past teams have had great post play and worked inside-out. This will be a really good group to follow as they progress, and with their ability to shoot the 3 teams better not think they're drawing a bye this year. I have said all year long that this team will be a tough out in the post season.

Two years from now Harlan County should be number 1 in the region considering they are starting 3 Sophomores, 2 Freshmen and most of their bench rotation is freshmen. That is if they all stick together. However, Clay will probably be #2 in region then. Clay is definitely a team to look out for in the coming years.

I really like the Mathis kid and the 7th grader Asher........They have the potential to be a dominate pair of guards in the coming years.

I've seen a steady decline in the area of big girls, most teams are very heavy in guards
