14 state wide media voters. I'd recommend you vent your anger at whomever covers NKY.
#6
Dillon Powell should have been first team or second team he lead 6a in rushing most of the year. What a joke!
#7
Did anyone notice no Tre' Hornbuckle from Murray or Blake Asher from Leslie Co. anywhere on the list... What a joke!!!
#8
Did notice South Laurel with 3 kids on honorable mention team. They only had 2 wins each of the last 2 years. Coaches may not be producing.
#9
Did anyone notice not a single Mayfield player all state or honorable mention if this is on ourap guy that didnt vote he needs to be fired Western Kentucky might as well be in tennesse.!!!!!!!!!!!
#10
Congrats to Daylan Cofer, Trey Fant, Jordan Meredith, and Deangelo Wilson from Bowling Green. All four made 1st team all state.
#11
Apparently there were several members in this area that said they did not get their emails, telling them when to vote. That is most likely why no one from Mayfield was even mentioned. It's a shame, but life happens. They got some big rings coming in a few months that will make up for it.

My understanding is, they have to be an AP member. Just because they're media doesn't mean they automatically are on the AP listserv for eligible voters. Not criticizing, just pointing out what my understanding of it is. If they voted in the past, obviously either the email didn't get sent to everyone, they overlooked it, or they just skipped voting and don't want to admit it.
#13
These are regular voters in this area. They all are claiming that they didn't get the email.

I agree

Belfry 3a state champs 4 player
Pikeville 1a state champs 2 players
Mayfield 2a state champs 0 players

North Laurel 7 players regional runner up, they put more kids on the list than 3 combined state champions

No Blake Asher a Louisville signee from Leslie County

No Tanner Morgan at qb (Ryle) a kid with a basket full of d-1 offers, or Kelvin Whitaker (Leslie County)qb area 2a player of the year, but a kid from North Laurel that had a 39% completion rate with 7td's and 4int's and 673 yards passing.

No Humfleet from Bell County at db or running back, kid had 48 tackles,4 int's and 3 fumble recovery's not to mention 1950 yards rushing, but a kid from North Laurel with 8 total tackles for the year.

Listed Harley Lambert (Corbin) 6’3” as a linebacker and he never played a down there.

Congrats to all the boys who were selected I hate that there aren't more spots because I've seen and been around some really great football players this year Kentucky has some great High School Football.

Laurel County must have more selections per capita than any county in the state. Are they the best football county in the state?

A lot of us are pleased Laurel County is finally getting some recognition in football! North had a good team this season, they should have been noticed! We are pleased with those from this area showing up in these polls!

If you have a complaint about the AP voting and want to know who the voters are call 1-502-583-7718 and ask for Gary Gray he is over it. The lady told me that they had been flooded with calls about it.
#20
How many voters from Laurel county?

E's Army Wrote:How many voters from Laurel county?

It just takes 1 voter if they know how to work the system.
#22
I have never seen so many jealous sounding remarks! You would think people would be proud of these kids & the area they represent getting some accolades! Geez, people grow up! :please:
#23
It's a joke when an All-state team doesn't include one of the best WR's in the entire state. Not only was he the best WR in 6A this year but he wasn't even given HM honors.

Any list that doesn't have Dante Hendrix included is a joke.
#24
Congrats to all selected, but with any list someone deserving will always be left off.
#25
Some of the voters and the papers they work for should be embarassed.

They have nothing to be embarrassed about, that was their selections. There were quality players listed. Just because your favorite wasn't included does not make it a bad team. In fact it is a GOOD one. Not every player is on every all star team, everyone is entitled to their opinion!
#27
Over all this a quality list of players! Some left off this one were picked up on other lists I noticed. Can not please everyone all the time. Congratulations, to all these players, all these kids work hard!

I looked that up, that had to be someone getting jersey numbers mixed up. I never even noticed that # jersey being in on Defense & we were at every game North played. I ask my partners about it too and they did NOT remember ever seeing that # either. Mistakes can be made - human error!
