Wayne Co is probably one of the best kept football secrets in the state. They'll give Johnson Central all they want and then some next week.. Wouldn't be surprised to see Shelby Co knock off S.Warren, as well.. 4a is anyone's guess this year..

Shocked that Knox was blown out

First Half was competitive after that the wheels fell off. Congratulations Wayne on a good win, thanks to my Panthers for all that you gave this season to make an old man happy on Friday nights.

I seen Wayne play this year and they are still a year or two away from being really good. I pick them to beat Johnson Central this up coming week

I can say I've never been more proud of a bunch of kids in my life. Knox Central team did more than they were expected to do with the tough schedule they jad this year. Coach Russell you have got this program headed in the right direction and hope to see it to continue and grow into a full fledged power house ib the years to come. Just take what you have learned this season and build on. THANK YOU PANTHERS FOR A GREAT SEASON! !!
Know lets hit the weights and get ready for next year!

Wayne is the better team. We had a great season and will have a great one next year. Our 8 seniors have much to be proud of as they led us through the toughest schedule in school history.
Next year will feature one of the largest senior classes ever for KC. 20 juniors will be hungry to go big next year. Let's go.

Really didn't like the bad sportsmanship displayed by Knox central was uncalled for you win with pride and you lose with pride Knox central coach should have put a stop to it Instead letting it continue to end of the game!!!

I agree. Our players did not lose with the high level class and dignity that is expected of them. Coach did a great job of addressing it after the game.

He should have addressed it all season ,and before the game was over.

Great game by the Cards. The maturity this team has displayed over the past two weeks has been the difference. Down 18-6 to Rock to battle back and win, and then dominate on the ground this past week against Knox.
Depth played a role in this game like no other game this season. It seemed whichever Cardinal unit hit the field they were going at a higher level especially in the 3rd and 4th.
I thought the ends of Hatfield #47 and Brumley #88 became a difference as the game wore on. They pressured, hurried, and sacked the QB on passing downs and collapsed holes to create small running lanes.
Offensively the duo of Garner #34 and Jackson # 24 in the backfield was new and a dynamic game changer.
Knox had a couple of kids lose their heads, but they also had a few kids show a high level of class.

You have a great program and coaching in place at Monticello. I still hope my team steals your coach lol

Wayne, knowing their incoming freshman a bit the past few years. They should have had some decent skill and players in the junior group. The sophomore group should have had a lot of skill, decent size, quickness, and a potentially great QB, pretty good aggressiveness and physicality. The freshman were one of the most physical teams I've seen, tough, hard nosed, bring the wood kids. That's a blend of athletes, toughness, etc.. I knew would be dangerous. I just didn't know how it would carry over to 4A but it looks like it has worked out pretty well. They may be a lot like Johnson Central. I still think JC may be slightly better. This is a hard game to predict, IMO. Both teams have proven to have great intestinal fortitude (as Jim Ross would say). That should make for one of the better games on Friday night.

4A is an easier path to Bowling Green than 3A. Wayne should be real good next year and looking at another trip to Bowling Green. They are doing things right in Monticello.

Not really. 4a has taken out a couple top 3a teams. JC over Lexington cath and Knox over Lou central. They are some bad teams in both classes. But 2nd and 3rd round games in 4A are just as tough. I see only one team from 3a that would be a heavy favorite in 4a and that would be belfry, and they could contend in almost every class.

Wow!!! What a turn around for Wayne County this year in 4A. It got me thinking about just how good 1A Williamsburg was last year when they put a running clock on Wayne County before halftime. I will be pulling for Wayne county over Johnson Central......Sorry Pulp Fiction :Cheerlead Go Wayne County :Cheerlead

Wayne was down last year. They beat Williamsburg by a similar score the year before. Wayne is only going to get better.
