This has been months in the making. A lot of these kids are great friends and both sides have licked their chops wanting this game. Pikeville has been playing as well as anybody in KY. Paintsville beat them with Trimble getting 1 touch+Phelps hurt the 2nd quarter. Both teams have opened up the offense. 2 great small town communities full of pride for their programs. Could arguably be the best 1A matchup ever in the mountains heck any class for that matter! Tough to predict. Pikeville on fire but sometimes winning so big hurts you when you get in a tight pressure packed game. That's why I think that Raceland game was so important for Paintsville. Hoping both teams come into the game healthy and leave healthy. 2 great programs w mutual respect, great players, coaches and fan bases! This is going to be a fun Thanksgiving!

This game will be game of the year pikeville comes in 12-2 with loses to Paintsville and Belfry , Paintsville comes in 14-0 I honestly think that pikeville not really being tested since belfry or Paintsville , it hurts them in a way that they haven't been in a close game since week 2 , Paintsville had a raceland team that had them beat ,but they still pulled out the win they are used to the close game and makes the big plays when needed , I honestly think they overlooked them , not taking away anything from the raceland team that had a very good team but I don't think it was any where near the talent that Paintsville has ....but it might be good for pikeville that everyone should come in healthy and should be no excuses , Paintsville struggled against Raceland , this week against Paris , Paintsville opened up their passing game and it worked very good Kash threw for 9/14 207 yards and 3 tds ,Kent had 13 attempts for 130 yards and 2 tds , in the previous game against pikeville Kent was injured in the 2nd quarter this game he comes in healthy , Trimble is starting to feel more comfortable with getting more touches I look for him to play a big roll in this game. The freshman Allen is getting better every game, not having dalton Daniels since week 4 or 5 has hurt paintsville him being back this week helped out with defense ....With that been said 28-21 Paintsville ... I honestly think whoever wins the game goes on to win the state championship ... Good luck to both teams , can't wait for Friday night ...

Both teams have really changed things up offensively, becoming much more dynamic. I think Pikeville has the better offense and Paintsville has the better defense. Im goina go with Paintsville though, it's going to be a cat fight, not for the faint of heart. Kash make yet another play or two down the stretch to keep a drive going to seal the win or win the ball game. Time of possession and turnovers will likely decide this ball game.

This game has the makings to be the real state championship game in 1A. Both teams have had great seasons and this one should be a classic. If I weren't going out of town for Thanksgiving I would make the trip to see this one. With that said, I think Paintsville's dream season ends next week. As good as Paintsville has been this year I just can't see them pulling 3 in a row against Pikeville. Pikeville will play with a serious chip on their shoulder and I think this one will be a fight until the end with the Panthers pulling way late in the 4th quarter.

Kind of a coin flip game for me. Both teams are fully capable of winning the state championship and it is a shame this game isn't the championship game. I guess in a way it could be. Taking the Panthers by 7.

Pikeville's defense ranked #1 in Class A in rushing defense and scoring defense, and near the top in all classes. Faced the top rusher in Class A last night in Smith of Hazard, can't wait to see stats he got nothing. Pikeville defense playing lights out.
