South Laurel 43 Clay County 7
#1
Final. Embarrassing loss for the Tigers, I don't know where to begin. We should not be this bad.
#2
Congrats to South Laurel
#3
I thought clay would win this one to be honest. I was really bad wrong.
#4
Congrats South...

Good luck to both teams next week.

Glad I missed this debacle.

Go Cardinals!

When the guy who has carried the team, Sizemore, gets so few touches things like this happen. Pathetic losing to a team like South, but another running clock is unacceptable. Like, I said last week when everybody was praising combs. If this is what the administration at Clay is turning everything football related over too, we are more desperate than I could have ever believed.

Been a bad night in high school football on me picking a winner. This one is a shocker. :Sad04:

South ended last year with a win over Leslie County. These games show the athletes they have. The coaching staff does a good job hiding them all year.

There is just no excuse for this one. We began the season losing bad to a mediocre Rowan team and end the season losing even worse to a terrible South Laurel team. Even if being young was a valid excuse, shouldn't this team have improved atleast somewhat over the course of the season? It seems that everyone has had their best offensive night against us. A coach we got rid of just took less talented defense and held us to 7 points.
#11
I really thought that Clay would take this one.
#12
Not taking anything away from South, but the coach we got rid of didn't hold us to 7. The coach we hired held us to 7. 2 good ends and 2 solid corners can stop Clays offense.
#13
Well it must have been South's coach then because they sure don't have two good ends and two good corners haha. This loss is embarrassing and there is no excuse for it.

From a schematic perspective ofcourse, how would you line up to defend Clay's offense? In all honesty, 2 good ends and 2 good corners would make it tough on a bunch of offenses. Not a big fan of what they do on offense but just playing devils advocate.

Contain Sexton with the ends. Stick the best 2 corners on Wolfe and Sizemore. Then what do they have left?
Clay has a offense that it doesn't matter how you line up on D. From halftime of Rowan until West Jessamine they had 2 TDs, 1 of which was on Corbin's 3 or 4th string. Then, after West, 1 garbage TD on Knox's 3 or 4th string and a pick 6 vs. Rock. Clay cant score on a decent defense.

If they didn't have ends or corners, Sizemore should have ran wild and caught a bunch of passes. Oh wait, I don't think his number was called much. combs would rather lose the way Breathitt won in the early 2000s then compete the way his talent will let him. Could be why we have won 2 games and had 7 running clocks put on us.

I called it a bad hire from day one for Clay County, and it's not anything personal on Coach Comb's part, he is just inexperienced and has been thrown into a terrible situation. On one hand I get upset because of some of the decisions he makes but on the other I try to understand because of his lack of experience. People in the community have tried to play it off as a homerun hire and several people on here were all up and giddy about it last year, but now they are not talking because I have been proven right all along. I don't see why he is not calling the defense, as inexperienced as he is as a coach in general, he is even less experienced as an offensive coordinator, it just makes no sense to me and I can't wrap my head around it. Everyone tries to talk about the future but our best athletes graduate this year.

Will South change coaches again?

South just put a running clock on the Tigers and you want to know if SOUTH will change coaches.LOL
