Pikeville/Paintsville 1A
Shelby Valley...(stretch I know) 2A
Belfry 3A
Johnson Central
What's the likelihood of this. Or even 3-4?

The Paintsville vs. Paris game will be the East side representative.
But you know Pikeville is begging for another shot at Paintsville.
Danville will more than likely win the Region over Shelby Valley in 2A.
Belfry meets Boyle County in the 3A state finals.
Johnson Central meets South Warren in the 4A state finals.
Pulaski County meets Bowling Green in the 5A state finals.
Nobody cares about 6A.
As long as no Lex./Louis./NKY or private schools win.
I do see the 15th region sending three teams to the state finals.

Would you settle for 5 of the 6?
1A Hazard: 2011
2A Belfry: 2004 (Old 2A)
3A Belfry: 2014
4A:
5A: Pulaski County (2014)
6A: NO 'Mountain' teams

I'll never forget that game. These big ass tour buses rolled in, opened the door and Lorenzen literally fell down the bus's steps!! LOL Towles cared more about the ballgame than his hair back then!

No. I see Paintsville with a legitimate shot, Belfry if they show up to play each game, and Johnson Central has the best shot they have had. SV will not make it out of the regional. Danville will take that spot.

According to the brackets on the KHSAA website. Pikeville vs Paintsville game can only happen in the 4th round of the playoffs.

Which will determine the East representative in Bowling Green.

Actually was a 6A school, but nearest district opponents were 2-3 hours away. So they were put in 5A.

Pikeville will beat Kash... I mean paintsville in the rematch. Also probably one of the best semi games to go to.
Belfry should get to state rather easily. Corbin and bell aren't really contenders at this point Tbh. Now the west side is stacked in 3A.
Johnson central is the heavy favorite imo for 4A.

Paintsville has gotten better each week don't see them getting beat.
Shelby valley is solid but danville is really good.
Belfry is the beast of the east, their toughest game will be lawrence county. And lex. Catholic will come out of the west. They just proved they are better than boyle co.
I think ashland just proved that the road to bowling green may not be as easy for jc as they had planed.

I agree mostly I see
1A coming down between Paintsville/Pikeville (great rematch) in the East vs Beechwood/Russellville
2A Although Valley is playing well don't count out Newport Cent. Catholic, but whoever will prob fall to Mayfield in the Finals
3A will likely be a rematch from last year Belfry/Central
4A Johnson Central (if they don't choke)/South Warren
5A North Laurel/ Bowling Green
6A Louisville school prob Male/ St.X vs Scott Co./Simon Kenton

The original question was how many teams could EKY send to the championships (not necessarily win them). So...
1A = Paintsville and Pikeville appear to be on a collision course in the state semis. Unless Paris manages to upset both schools in successive weeks, EKY should have a team in the finals.
2A = Shelby Valley is a good team, probably even better than last year. But the Wildcats have a very difficult path to the finals. They would likely have to win at Danville to get out of region, then win at NewCath in order to get there. Very small chance, but still a chance.
3A = If Belfry is not playing for the title, it would probably be Corbin or Bell Co instead. EKY is virtually guaranteed a team in the finals here.
4A = Johnson Central is the favorite to come out of the east, although the winner between Ashland and Scott could potentially be a problem. Still would be a surprise if the Eagles aren't playing for a title.
5A = Starting to stretch what constitutes an "EKY" team. Is Pulaski considered eastern? If yes, then you probably have one here. If not, then North Laurel at least has a shot at beating the Maroons and getting to the finals.

I suppose you could make an argument for Paris in 1A, although the chances of them knocking off Paintsville and Pikeville in successive weeks is pretty slim.
But who in the world do you have heading to Bowling Green in 3A that isn't from EKY? If it's not Belfry, it will be Corbin or Bell.
To me, 3A is a virtual lock to have EKY in the finals. 1A and 4A are pretty close to lock territory as well.

Corbin possibly, Paris no shot whatsoever.
