Paintsville Vs. Raceland
#61
Amazing how this time last year, Paintsville posters were humble as can be,aking comments like "we just want to compete" or "just glad to see us winning a few ball games and the numbers up". This year? Not so much. Its amazing what a couple wins can do!

True to a point but after constant analysis and strength of schedule breakdowns from multiple posters from the same area it gets old and worn out with the ton of excuses of why or how it happened instead of we just got beat and leave it at that.

Another scintillating observation that we can all learn from.

Injuries, recruiting, bad calls, its all part of the game. You play with the hand your delt and you play the team that lines up across from you.

Fairview game was a test our secondary failed. Paintsville game will be a test of how disciplined we are defending the read option.

Heard all of the crap about how slow we are. Bottom line is Messer was a 6' 3" wideout that kept two defenders occupied every game. We had big strong wideouts that could really block downfield on those stretch plays. We don't have that this year. Our wide outs either get holding penalties or they get thrown off the field trying to block. The lack of a consistent passing game is killing us. We have to find a way to soften up defenses so the box is stacked all of the time.

I cant grasp why the play calling hasnt been like it was in the. Valley game and the Portsmouth West game? Using the quick and short passing game to open things up a bit. Nathaniel looks much more comfortable and sharp running the two minute offense than he does on the "oh by the way" pass play calls. We are at our most effective offensively when we are constantly mixing things up. Yet we never do that. Couple of drives against Fairview we did that, ran the ball right down their throats, hit a couple out routes, off tackle was clicking, only to have it nullified by penalties. We are just very undisciplined right now.

Paintsville has too many weapons on offense and too good of a defense. It is going to be along night for the Raceland Rams.

You got the backs to line it up in the I and run it down people's throats then you need to do it. I myself think Raceland does. Whether or not you run out of the I because you should and Pass when needed. Throw bubble screens, quick outs and throw the Deep ball to stretch that defense out because if you throw a couple down field they will not want to get beat on a deep ball.

Hope Painstville stays perfect so Pikeville can get another shot at them in the winner take all battle of 23 for all the marbles. Ooooh. Tension building.
#82
^ if they meet up it will be a battle. Not only has Pikeville improved and disbursing the ball better all around Paintsville has is too and taking a lot of Pressure off Kash.
#83
Paintsville will absolutely roll in this one. Blowout in my opinion.

Averaging over 100 yards passing per game that's plenary to soften up defense fairview is the only team Raceland played that averages more that's bc they throw the ball 30-50 times a game.

I hope last Friday was a wake up call , I'm not putting down fairview but Raceland is a much better team than they are ( but wasn't last Friday night ) I heard from many of the kids how bad Faieview was same goes from adults including me and they got beat , Fairview made more plays , Raceland made more mistakes , silly but very costly mistakes , imo play calling was pretty good , they ran the ball at will but seem to shoot themselves in the foot with the silly mistakes .. Bottom line Racelands manhood will be tested this week , will they answer the call or lay down ? We will find out Friday night

This team has to play with a sense of purpose and urgency. I think some do but, most don't. Don't let the Fairview game define your season but, don't forget it either. Nows the time you either come together or it all falls apart.

I agree 100%. This game is make or break time for the Rams. A blow out loss will deplete this team and tbh, last week took its toll, after talking to several of the players. I just hope they can rally around each other and dont start to emplode.

A win and district title is a sure fire turnaround and confidence booster. A close loss is a sign of life moving into the playoffs, a blow out loss is a backbreaking situation, imo.
#90
I have faith that these boys will be in position to win this ball game though.
