You don't want to put your backups(in this case, freshman backups) in the game just to take a knee with a couple of minutes still to go. That last TD run by freshman Landon Duvall was from 20 yards out and it was a good one. I guarantee when he took the handoff, he wasn't thinking about the scoreboard. He had an opportunity to impress his coaches and he seized it. I don't mean to sound harsh, but someone in blue should've tackled him. Any coach with an eye toward the future wants to get his young kids some quality reps if the situation arises on Friday nights.

This is the most points Russell has scored since putting up 69 against Estill Co. in 2005. '05 was a good year.

Sounds like to me that the only thing TJ could have done differently was after it got to the point of a running clock was to take 3 knees and punt or heck I guess he could have just told the QB to take 4 straight knees and give LC the ball on the spot. TJ is an excellent coach and I know that his intentions were not to embarrass or belittle Lewis County's player's or coaching staff.
Just about guarantee you that the Lewis County coach had no problem with the way TJ coached this game.

If they tie, you go on to the 5th team you've beat and count their wins. This continues until the tie is broken.

TJ is not that type of Head Coach to make the other team or Coach look bad. This is not the first game this year that LC gave up 50-60 points in a game. Conley had only 4 touches for 120 yards and Mckee had some good runs. They were both out of the game before half with score 55-6 and TJ had most of his Freshman & sophmores playing after half with the Running Clock. The Freshman scored 3 TD's in the 2nd half with the Running clock. This is the type of game you want your young players to get in the game and get some touches and experience if needed later in season.

The running clock normally keeps teams from being able to score this many. It takes less than half an hour to play a half once the clock is running. Losing team should be able to hold ball for several minutes every possession. Was Russell scoring on turnovers or 1 play drives?
