Kentucky's first win against a Top 25 team in 5 years. Snaps Missouri's 12 game road win streak

Congrats to the Cats on the W!
SEC win #2 this season...
Towles got it done and the defense held on enough to win. I'm cautiously optimistic now about this team winning 6 during the regular season.
GO CATS!!!

Big Win for the Cats... Towles played a heck of a game 😎

Towles cut his hair and look what happens. He just couldn't see last week

Had too much "hair product" on his hands last week, that's why his passes kept sailing on him. Seriously though I have to give him his due, he looked like a legit SEC qb tonight, and this was a good win, better than the South Carolina win, because this was the two-time defending SEC East champs, a well-coached team with a damn good defense. All of a sudden I wish I had tickets to the Auburn game, that is shaping up as one wild night at Commonwealth.

Several folks played well along with Our QB. I agree with Van Hagar, he looked like a solid SEC QB tonight. When he plays like this for 4 quarters these Cats will have a shot to win some more SEC games and have a nice season......congrats to Stoops and his troops!!!

It was nice to see CJ Conrad get some passes, he's going to be a great tight end. Now that the entire defense is back, they are starting too look pretty good on that side of the ball as well.

The Flanagan kid that came back on defense tonight looks like a difference maker. My only complaint with our D in any way right now is could we please make the interception when the ball is thrown right in our hands? Two like that tonight, at least four this year.

So now Towles doesn't completely suck and the sky is not falling?
09-27-2015, 01:37 PM
Exactly. We're Kentucky fans!✌

FBALL Wrote:So now Towles doesn't completely suck and the sky is not falling? Now Towles has played one excellent game this season, he now has to prove that he can play at this level consistently. Like I said earlier, if he can play at the level he played last night consistently this team could have a great year........ Go Cats!

Second what black bear cuz said^^^.... one game doesn't make a consistent good sec QB, he definitely had a good game. I seen where Dawson tweaked his throwing motion last week, apparently that helped alot. Now just be consistent
09-27-2015, 03:38 PM
^^And I third that comment. Until Towles can put two halves together, he won't be as consistent as we need a QB to be, and I'm getting frustrated with that. He knows what to do, he CAN do it and his OC is working well with him....so DO it already. I think a buzz cut, or a bald shave would do wonders for him.
nicker:
There were times when I was holding my breath in the second half and counting the seconds toward the end of the game! I was really afraid we were going to give that game up. Evidently, we are not as good at doing that as Tennessee!!
(sorry, I just HAD to say it)

😃Don't you think the Vols losing streak to Florida is more embarrassing than ours? After all, they are a "football school".

One game can cause a negative outlook but one game cannot be read on for a more positive outlook. Interesting.

If you've been a been a Kentucky football fan for any length of time, you'll know that misery has always been just around the corner. That's why we're a little unreasonable with our reactions.

Went to my first UK game when Fran Curci was coaching.

Yep. He had some bad games. Also had some really good games. I leave basketball to those of you who can only appreciate a team where everything is going right.
He's a young developing QB for a program that is building up from the foundations in the toughest football conference in the country. There are going to be ups and downs. He has lead this team through difficult times. He deserves more respect than a bunch of never was's calling for him to be benched for a kid that has never taken a snap in college football.
My concern is for those that can't see progress being made.

When he shows he can be consistent then yes we can jump on the bandwagon. But when you are a 4th year junior consistency shouldn't be the issue. He may or may not get it right, but some of us are tired of hearing how talented someone is but their stats say otherwise, let's not forget all the excuses that's been used for his poor performances. The next 5 games will tell us everything, if he can't be accurate then yes it's time for a change. Anyone can go out there and throw more picks then Touchdowns. I'll let his stats do the talking and see what happens. If you want to argue with his poor stats by all means do, we all like a good laugh.

You should definitely let something else do the talking.
Had 2 decent games, 1 bad game and 1 really good game so far this year.
You are seriously still wanting to change quarterbacks?

Actually I've bragged on him on several sites for last night's performance, but what I have said is he needs to be consistent to keep his job as would any QB. You don't have to take anything I've said serious, this is a forum, you know where we give our opinions, like I've said his stats says it all. As for the future we will see what happens and revisit.

Here is a couple of stats. 2-1 in the SEC. 3-1 overall.

Only stat that really matters.
i grasp the concept fine. But are you going to be specific enough to say that incompletion was caused by the back missing a block? Or that incompletion was a drop by the receiver in the end zone? Or that interception was because of a blind side hit while he was throwing? It is a team game as you pointed out.
And still 3-1 is still the only stat that really matters.
That was a couple of clues.
Now if the guy sucked and couldn't do the job and there is somebody better in the wings then by all means make a change. But that is not the case. He has won the job not once but twice. He's earned it.

Towles showed last night that he can be accurate throwing the ball and that he can make great throws in the clutch. Outside of the one deep throw he made to the endzone into double coverage that shoulda been picked he made good decisions as well for the most part. We have many weapons on the offensive side of the ball at his disposal, if our defense stays healthy and hungry and Towles can play like he did last night consistently I believe this team has a chance to have a special season. A lot of work left to do, but it was sure nice to be in Commonwealth Stadium and watch this bunch look like a solid SEC team on both sides of the ball and finish off a solid SEC victory!
09-27-2015, 10:07 PM
I thought the atmosphere in the stadium was better than the Florida game. Even though it wasn't a sellout there was more to cheer for and the fans were into it.

Good win for UK, 2-1 in the SEC is a great start...Towles had a good game, the Oline gave him some time in the pocket and Baker, Johnson, and Conrad made plays...The Defense was and has been solid, CJ Johnson had a huge game and having Hatcher and Flannigan back as starters was huge...Felt like the officials made a few bad calls and missed several holding calls, but this UK team overcame them and won...Good crowd there and we were loud...GBB
