Lots of crow being served up! Danville is not the same team from last year.

Corbin really struggled tonight to get anything going on offense.

Corbin will be lucky to stay in the top ten in 3A poll this week. How good is Boyle co ?
09-12-2015, 05:14 AM
Before this game, I would've picked Corbin over Boyle easily..now I'm not so sure.
SUR is stunned, but NEVER speechless!!

They seem to be one dimensional, and lack the ability to pass the ball.

I guess this means Hostess should sponser the Mayfield/Corbin game, since it is the cupcake bowl now, sorry I have to amuse myself to keep from crying.

I was at this game and it has been a while since I've left a game this frustrated. The defense played their tails off. Danville should have scored at least 35. The defense was put in horrible positions all night. The o line blocked no one. The qb fumbled 5 times. Corbin has a LONG way to go before they play bell co if they want to compete for a district title. I will say this though. Danville was coming off an embarrassing loss to Boyle and came to play ball. Hopefully Corbin can respond to adversity as well as the ads did next week.
Great game admirals you gave up 30+ pounds a man on the line and dominated us all night. Good looking team in title town.
Also something a little off subject. I think it would be pretty cool if both teams wore their home colors when they play. That blue vs red would look good on the field. The two sharpest uniforms in Ky imho.

Had a big post drawn up in my head and couldn't wait to get home, but you pretty much summed it up. Get back to work because the schedule doesn't get any easier.

There was one vote for Boyle County as the top team in 3A from the preseason all the way until now and it was mine.
IMHO Boyle will walk away with the 3A title and I fear it is only the beginning as Smith has gotten them back into form.
Corbin is a young team and will be fine but Danville is no slouch, Boyle is just that good.
However Corbin has got to get the offense figured out and think about what direction they want to go with. There is no reason they should ever put up a goose egg in any game.

Sometimes good defense makes it look like the offense didn't show. We kinda felt the same tonight. Just a tough defense v

I noticed in the updates some were asking about the injured Corbin players. With the way Danville played tonight I really don't think Carter or Cima would have changed the outcome. With that said prayers for a speedy recovery, but I've been told Cima may have been lost for the season. I've also not seen it mentioned, but Harley Lambert played tonight after flipping his vehicle three times just a day ago. He did enter the game with a lot of soreness in his back and after a scary moment in the 3rd did not return.

Hats off to a very good Danville team!
Defense played ok tonight, a few break downs but played hard.
Offense was horrible, didn't block anyone, snaps are killing us.... Field was flooded but both teams played on it, Danville had very few fumbles...I would guess we had around 10... As I said, we didn't block anyone tonight....but it seems that #16 has a run first mentality. No way he should have that many carries, too slow to run it on 3rd & 12. He would be a good tight end or full back....Maybe time to prepare one of or both of the freshman QBs for the next 3 years.

I was told mix reports. I was told it was his back which was already giving him problems from the car accident. I was also told it was a seizure. The young man suffers from epilepsy and it can be scary sometimes.

You would run to if nobody is blocking Campbellfield. Unbelievable :pondering:

You may very well be right but nobody from Belfry is willingly going to hand it over.
I guarantee that.

Wow I thought this would be a pretty good game but thought Corbin might edge them in the 4th qtr because of their size. Listening to the Danville radio broadcast on the way home they said Corbin had 7 fumbles (lost 3) and less than 100 yards of total offense. Danville is well coached and play hard but how can you not run for more than 50 yards with that size difference? Just baffles me.

Some of the younger guys on the line struggled tonight. I was really impressed with Partin on the line tonight in limited playing time. He handled defenders pretty well.

No reason to pile on and I won't but I tried to warn the Corbin sunshine pumpers that I simply wasn't seeing all the hype.
As I said last week Belfry>Russell>Corbin
There is a clear pecking order in 3A at the top with Boyle at the front of the pack and Belfry, Central, and LexCath behind them.
Then a second pack of really solid teams, Corbin as of right now is in neither of those packs but they will improve. With that said size and speed doesn't grow overnight. If Corbin wants to compete with the big boys they have to out execute the other teams.
