#1 Mayfield @ #5 Paducah Tilghman 9/4
#1
Who do you got and why? I think it should be a great game to watch.
#2
This will be a good test for both. You got the small school Cardinals coming off two weeks of shut outs. But, the opponent had a lot to do with that. Then you have the bigger school Tornados. They have given up several points and are not undefeated. However, they have played 2 teams from the largest classification that early on has had people figuring them in the mix of things.

PT has some problems to fix, namely its kicking game and stopping the run. If Dunigan gets time to throw, he is going to cause some serious damage. He has some decent receivers and can scramble. They do appear to have eliminated the crippling penalties that were there in the Wyatt era.

But I do not see a PT win. 29-21.

Mayfield 28
PT 20

This game is going to showcase just how good Mayfield is.. I honestly expect them to win big.. Too much offense and a defense that may bend a little, but, won't break.. I think PT is a very solid team this year, but, this week won't be a good one for them... Mayfield 42 PT 14..
#6
I am withholding my prediction until the completion of the game.
#7
Mayfield by 12. PT is improved but Mayfield is Mayfield.
#8
I don't think we can preserve the shutout this week. MHS 35-7

Paducah Tillman may be over ranked with that said I think this will be a shootout.

Mayfield 42
Paducah Tillman 28

:lmao: Corbin is coming stay healthy Mayfield I may finally get my win. Confusederiously:

You may get struck by lightening twice in the same day too.

Central Hardin ran a little counter- misdirection all night long. Tilghman had trouble with it from the get go and it did not get fixed at half time. So either the DC did not know how to stop it, or they did not have the personnel to stop it. So that's a vulnerability Mayfield will try to exploit.

Hard to do a lot of misdirection with 1 back set. We do run some 2 back sets but, not very often.
#16
Mayfield 76-0
#17
Mayfield as usual.
#18
Mayfield wins.
#19
Doug, it won't be near that easy.

This is a great week for all those not in Mayfield or PT. I guess you all just really could not understand how this plays out. Today in Mayfield, all the players will most likely see yard signs in their yards before the night falls. This you have the bike ride on Thursday. For those of you who don't know, that means students from PT ride 30 + miles to Mayfield High on bicycles and Mayfield does the same. Then there will be a bon fire and pep rally on Thursday night. This is a rivalry like most never experience.

Tilghman and Mayfield began playing in 1911 which was before ipads were even invented. This is the 102nd meeting between the two teams by my count.
PT has not been holding up it's end of the rivalry the last several years-- but our new coach Rogers does at least know how to beat Mayfield, having done it before. The current crop of Tilghman seniors were in grade school the last time our varsity beat the Cards, and I am sure few of them can even remember the game.
Maybe, just maybe this is our year finally.

I seen somewere where Tilghman has a 1 game lead in the series. The record is 46-45-10. If Mayfield wins its 10 in a row, but it will tie the series. The only rivalry older in the state is Male/Manuel, which has been a 1 sided rivalry as Male has them over doubled in wins if I remember correctly. I doubt there are many rivalries in the nation with over a 100 games played, and the series being this dead even. Good luck Mayfield win this 1, and then again next year to take the lead for the 1st time in a very long time.

Id hate to put a sign in your sons yard. Daddy 55 might pull a shotgun. I wouldn't be surprised to see you bicycling down 45 on Thursday with the students, then showing up when the cheerleaders eat together, and bicycling away with all the food.

Like to see this kind of traditional games. Hopefully the state won't close all independents so this kind of thing can continue.
#27
If im not mistaken last year tied the series and we could take the lead this year.
#28
You definitely are not going to see me riding a bike to PT. I do think we have a decent shot at winning the next two games with PT. But, you never know for sure. That's what makes this rivalry such a great one.

You better win this one first. :HitWall::HitWall::HitWall:
