Coaching Changes??
#1
So now that the state tournament is over lets hear them. Which coaches are leaving their respective schools, and where are they going?
#2
Word is buzzing around the 57th that there could be new faces at the helm for 3 of the 4 schools.

Which schools would that be?
Magoffin- could see a new coach taking over here.
JC- won't happen unless tommy steps down
Paintsville- havent heard any rumors of BMR stepping down.
Sheldon Clark- Frankie would have to leave on his own.
#4
There's a coaches changes sticky at the top of the boys forum.
#5
Considering that I have heard nothing official, I will respectfully decline to mention any specific talk of any specific coaches that I may have heard. Just some chatter from around the way thus far.

Mark it down. I heard this rumor at the 57th district tournament. From what I hear he will be changing his coaching attire from red and light blue to maroon and white.

Heard John Paul Amis was taking over at Perry Central. Any truth to this?

I'm hearing Ashland.

If THOMCAT says it..... you can mark it down.

If THOMCAT tells you 'Gobble Gobble', you can say it's Thanksgiving.

I've heard the same thing about Amis taking over at Perry. Hearing Hoskins is out the first week of April and JPA will be taking over the reigns soon after.
#12
I've heard from a very reliable source prestonsburg will be open in the coming weeks.
Also, if Frankie leaves Sheldon Clark for Ashland, who would be the front runner for the coaching job at SC?

Your source is correct from what I am hearing.
#14
I've heard no change will be made.
If so who is frontrunner?
#15
South Floyd needs a new coaching staff.
#16
I've been hearing lots of talk about Prestonsburg. Anyone know who they would go after if the job does come open?

Not sure who they would go after, but also hearing it's not the only coaching change happening at Prestonsburg.

Frankie is leaving. Ashland Bound!!!!!! As for the new coach, who knows? I just wonder if they will pay the next one a similar salary. That can bring in a lot of people.

I only know one name that has been linked with this job, but I won't mention it since its merely rumor right now. I will know more in the next few days.

Is bb coming back to kcc? I was under the impression that this was his last year
#21
I have heard a few thing things. let me know if anyone else heard any of these.
1. Al Holland going to retire.
2. Shannon Hoskins going to take over at Hazard, when Holland retire.
3. Damon Tobler went back to PA or going back at the end of the year.
4. Braxton Beverly wont be at PCC next year.
I also heard a few thing about girls basketball also. but this is a boy basketball thread.
#22
Somethings I heard in the 54th District all hearsay so far but pretty reliable
1. Braxton Beverly will not be at Perry for his senior season prep schools? [I]say he comes back
2. BB king will be the coach at Knott Central next year? They host the regional he will have a shot.
3. Big Al will be back at Hazard may retire in a couple of years.
4. John Paul Amis has not been contacted by Perry Central about basketball coach.
5. if Hoskins returns it will not be a shocker and if hes let go it will not be a shocker hes got a 50-50 chance of returning. my guess hes out but not sure.
6. Tobler I think if Beverly leaves hes gone. if Beverly stayes he comes back
7. Perry has a great group of fresh men coming in if they stay togather and don't split up. They be very good

The John Paul Amis that was superintendent of Perry County and famous Buchkorn coach??
#24
Should be an interesting offseason to say the least.

I know someone who talked to James and he said he wasn't going anywhere. So, if there is a change made they will have to fire him. There is definitely a lot of rumors floating around the Prestonsburg programs.

I have heard Jim Hicks will not be back at Valley. Not sure if this is true but I know there is a big push by some up there to move Bartley in as HC so Shelby Valley can save an English or Math teacher. Personally I think the Sheldon Clark game was the best I had seen Valley perform all season but it will definitely be interesting to see what drives the decision make up there.

Maybe they will fire him then. I'm pretty confident he's out

P'burg may just get an assistant coach in 2 sports and HeadCoach in another sport. That's a lot of coaching for one person, but look for it to happen.

Are you talking about Hager maybe taking over the baseball program and being an assistant in football and possibly basketball.
