I sure do hope that Fairview can build upon their success from last season, I thought they exceeded expectations and their QB/Receiving corps for next year looks pretty promising. As a graduate of Fairview I want them to do well, but also want them to make our community proud of the way that they did it. Good luck Eagles!

also Fairview graduate.... and is very proud how these boys represent the community. needless to say the 2015 schedule is guaranteed of full throttle friday night matchups. good luck eagles in 2015

well once again Fairview gets snubbed by all state selections...blake smith or alex roy easily should have at least made honorable mention...pike co central had a reciever brad elkins with 52 catches little over 800 yards to make it and smith does not get nod. I could keep the stats
up. alex roy also 2700 yards passing is way more that most of the all state honorable mention qb's. ridiculous

I like the LCA pick up. Good solid program. Coal Grove will give you all you want upfront. They are always really big upfront. I think Fairview would benefit from a game against another solid 2 or 3A squad. There is alot more to scheduling games tha most people realize. Until I whitnessed it all from a closer vantage point (regaurding Raceland's schedule for 2015), I didnt realize how fragile these contracts were in some cases and then others are etched in stone, cemented over, caged up, and coated with 4 ft of cast iron. Schedule looks good. Especially if they are multi-year contracts. It allows room for growth against weaker teams once the senior group is gone (Roy and co), but still has some games to challenge the Eagles.

Thats a good schedule scrappy, Fairview will be tough in 15'

Good, solid schedule. Will help them get ready for the playoffs and let Roy show his stuff against good competition too. Really looking forward to seeing what kind of numbers he can put up next year after getting a year of that new offense under his belt, should be a joy to watch.

Good early season comparison against a team you may face in the state semi if the and to see what each team needs to work on.

why is Fairview scheduling cincy teams?? last 2 or 3 years we have had to travel there? good luck eagles. spring practice right around the corner. one of the states best quarterbacks will be on display Friday nights in the WOOD:Cheerlead

good morning westwood. would like all the Fairview faithful to know that NASCAR is a troll friend of the ex coaching staff who was run out of town ..therefore do not respond to him or have any faith in any response that he may have on our mighty eagle thread. no good Russell grad who has nothing better to do than troll on high school football website . with that said I have one more thing to say...HOW BOUT THEM EAGLES. and wonderful coach RAY
01-27-2015, 07:30 PM
What all does Fairview return besides the QB?
01-27-2015, 09:49 PM
1000 yard receiver antwan Washington...rb john ruggles...are names that may stand out. truthfully a solid line in front of roy to give him lots of time to throw. only one lineman comes to mind that made all area will be a senior right tackle davis. defensively up front makaris france and Andrew aurthur will anchor the line. several all around solid players like elswick and ekers should be leaders on defense. also should be some additions from the basketball team to compliment Washington as an offset receiver. offensive line only loss is rg. should be very good upfront for alex roy this year. second year in this system offensively wouldnt be surprised with record numbers from anybody

good to support your school and your wrong about the last staff getting run out of town. Please explain: From what I heard they could've stayed and been on the payroll for all years to come becomes of a concept called tenure. They chose to leave because why work for a crooked place like Fairview, where all the problems are still present. Coach Ray is a heck of a guy but coaching isn't one of his strong suits, preaching and being with the youth is. Anyway you can have your own opinion scrappy as you are entitled to it. I'm sorry but you just can't get over the McPeeks I'm beginning to think you have a man crush. Have a great day scrappy I heard they have an opening at Clark's is that true? Figured you may know, enjoy Westwood great town let me tell you !!! :lame::lame:

Sounds pretty good if Fairview can add somewhat of a passing game to balance the offense.
01-28-2015, 02:21 PM
Can Fairview get by Raceland in the fall? Will they be improved enough to challenge them for the district and region titles?

Who will replace the other 1,000+ yard receiver? That will be another big factor in determining how far Fairview will go.
01-28-2015, 03:41 PM
im pretty sure you meant run game. also agree. probably 70% pass 30% run game at this point. they will surely rely on the arm of alex roy. run game is there don't get me wrong. ruggles is capable. good size and a heck of an athlethe. couple of sophmores to be will step up to help in run game. as far as the "other" 1000 yard receiver...it will most likely split between several that had catches last year but were simply second or third on depth chart. McIntyre. Romine. Ekers. and hopefully Shannon Monroe who has yet to play football at Fairview will be hauling in passes from roy. will say this any of those will be a much bigger target than the departing smith was
01-28-2015, 08:26 PM
Yes I did mean run game.
02-01-2015, 03:38 PM
I said all season long last year that if Fairview had a run game they would have been more of a factor i the east. It wasnt just that though. The run defense was very weak as well. But imo, especially in HS football, those two things often go hand in hand, bc in small school football, more times than not, a good backfield is the same boys that are lining up at Lb. Which was the case at Fairview. The three games I saw, both Raceland games and at Hazard, the DL made a good effort to collapse the middle or contain the edge, but they had no support with a plugging or scraping LB. Didnt tackle very well either. Also, imo, I thonk alot of that had to do with so much focus of the offseason was installing the new offense. With a year under their belt, the focus needs to be on the defensive sode of the ball. Give Ray time, and over the next few years, our district will be a Three headed monster that will produce 3 solid and formidable contenders each year. And not just a contender and 2 solid teams. I look for our district to produce alot of regional championships and title shots and titles over this alignment period. We have the best district from top to bottom, from coaching on down to the players. Is it August yet?

anyone heard what offers alex roy has been receiving?? also Washington??. couple more basketball games then its on to football mindset in westwood. good luck to the basketball team but Fairview shall always be football crazy!!

Paintsville , fairview and Raceland will be a tough district , I think it will end up ,
1. Racelamd
2. Paintsville
3. Fairview
any of those three will be better than the number one seed out of the other district
