Big win for Johnson Central.

Appears Lawrence County may be back to full strength soon as Timmy Dalton shot during halftime of the JV game and sat on the bench in street clothes in the varsity game. Looks like grades, illness and/or some of the rumors floating around may be working themselves out for the Bulldogs.

Tyler Pack played like an All-Star tonight.

Good to hear that LC might be getting things worked out. Congrats to JC on a big win tonight

Gullett to much down low for the dawgs. Timmy returning saturday for game in ohio. Nice job jc

Taking nothing away from JC they are def top 2 teams in the 15th. But the effort that was put out by LC in the second half was embarrassing. nobody was sprinting back on defense, no hustle, no heart, and that reflects coaching staff. I'm sure kids were tired and LC bench is limited but you have to do better job to get kids a quick rest. The Ratliff kid never played at all I dont think, maybe trash time at the end. Just alot wrong in LC and Timmy coming back will not fix all the problems they have, it will obviously put a better player out on the floor, but wont fix the coaching issues. Eagles and Cardinals Thursday night will be preview of Region champs.

Hope you are right. It def seems like sc and JC are the best 2 teams

Agree 100% and this is/was the same team from last year predicted to go to state. Only thing changed is coaching staff. Go do the math people. :flush:

I watched this game and I can tell you without reservation that this team is not playing as together nor as confident as they were playing under Josh Cook. Their competitive fire is gone...seems to be a lot of selfishness on their team right now as well. I think some of the guys are happy if they are getting their shots and buckets even if the team is struggling. I thought they played inspired the last couple of years but they don't look like the same bunch. If they can get it together, they can win this region. But something must change.

:biglmao: Predicted to go to state? Who predicted that? Surely nobody with a brain. We don't have a guy over 6'2" that plays any meaningful minutes. And you thought we'd have the talent to be the "favorite"? I remind you this was the same team from last year and we had a post player who was over 6'5" and still couldn't win the region. Oh, and who was that coach? JC is and WAS the favorite, hands down. NOBODY, absolutely NOBODY with a reasonable mind ever even thought about saying LC was going to Rupp. Can we? Sure.

The problem is punks like you all that judge coaching abilities. What are your coaching credentials? Did you apply for the job? I mean you are an expert on what it takes to win basketball games.

So far this year this team has had:

1. Best player sick and missed many games and many minutes.
2. 2nd best player (perhaps best) walked away from the team.
3. Playing a tougher schedule and being challenged harder than LC basketball has ever been challenged.

You see, look at all those 'W's from last year and the year before. Then, look at the schedule. You see a trend?

I'm sure if you reach out to Coach Cook he'd come back in a blink of an eye since it wasn't his decision to leave....Confusednicker:...sorry, couldn't help but snicker on that. He abandoned ship at the first opportunity that he had. This coach is a good guy trying to instill a bit of discipline and RULES and you people go nuts. Amazing.

Trust me, this team will be fine. If the players buy in, if they get healthy, they will be fine. Too many fans from LC are getting in to a war of words about this team and are panicking over nothing. Well, probably because of these expectations that you are putting on this team. Maybe that's why Cook left? Confusednicker:

good job

This coaching staff has no respect from these kids! Its there job to establish this. Good guy doesn't mean good coach!! you have to build trust with kids, and no trust has been earned from them. My thought he thought this was going to be a easy road, road is a little bumpy now. A shame LC let Cook get away before these kids graduated. But typical of them. If not not in the family, you're not welcome.
#13
Obviously you weren't in attendance at the district championship game last year. Shame. It was a barn burner! Real fan, aren't ya? Funny how touchy you get anytime someone has a bad thing to say about York. Guess blood really is thicker than water....

Stay tuned and watch the restless LC natives cannibalize on their own young and wash it down with that vintage elixir that flows in those bubbly streams thru the wild and treacherous jungles of Lawrence Co. Everybody's on pins and needles here awaitin the outcome of this epic debate. Same LC time, same LC channel.

And please, inform us of how this occurred? How did LC let him "get away"? He was applying and looking for jobs the day after we lost in the regional tourney. Confusednicker: He couldn't wait to get away from here. And the fact that you said "at least until these kids graduated" says a lot about you and your motives. That's sad that the ONLY thing you care about is the years for THIS GROUP of kids in this program. I guess it would have been fine with you if Cook stayed another two years and then bolted and left the program high and dry. But, hey, that would not be your problem anymore, right?

And for another mistake, coaches should have respect instantly when they take over. That's the problem with this generation today. Back 20-30 years ago, and longer, players respected their coach regardless of who they were or the situation. If the coach showed up every day and did his job, he earned my respect. I didn't have to like him. But I played hard for him and did what he told me to do because that was my JOB as a player! What's these kids learning from all this? This is a life lesson. They are going to have jobs where a popular boss of theirs quits or moves on and is replaced by someone else. Are they suddenly going to quit their job because they didn't like it? That's what you all are teaching this generation with your attitude here. :HitWall:

Another response from a guy who "doesn't care about LC". Typical. Funny I see very few replies to things that you would care about.

Let me also note that last year LC lost 54-32 to JC, and we had ALL our players healthy and playing. Who was that coach?

But since you all are so hung up on Josh Cook, how many district titles and regional titles did he have? Same number as Coach Miller before him...ZERO. So, what makes him the God of basketball at LC? Give York a chance to do something before judging. Cook had embarrassing losses, too. I remember we lost to East Carter last year, who isn't very good. Just saying.

Ah, LCHSAlumnus/Dawgeers/LCHSbulldogsalum, how would you know about such? Did your dad or grandpa tell you something like that?

Could you please stop referring to me as "Dawgeers". I don't mind the other name because that is true, that was my old username. But I am not that person. Abide by the rules of the board. OK.

Here's the facts junior, dawgeers is an identical clone of LCHSAlumnus/LCHSbulldogsalum.......Looks like you, smells like you and is you. You know it, I know it, and everyone else knows it.Confusednicker:

Here's another interesting tidbit of information...The last post that dawgeers made was on Jan.1, 2015...Now get this, the first post that LCHSbulldogsalum made was on Jan. 2, 2015.....Coincidence? I think not..Confusedhh:

Since you are a big advocate of abiding by the rules, if you read them , then you already know that you are not allowed to have more than 1 account. Comprende?

I cant believe that someone hasn't started a thread to get you banned for violating board rules.

Respect is earned. Bottom line. When you come in a gym and dont demand it, kids will push you to see how far they can go. That is what happened here. Then when things got so bad and they tried to stop the bleeding they couldn't and have lost control. I'm sorry when you call a 15 year old kid a CANCER and say things like you're team is better without him, or you don't need him because you have his brother, and this is in the public. Have heard from several of my LC friends. That doesn't deserve respect, and people like that don't need to be coaching kids. They deserve everything they get when this blows sky high

Oh, well, that's proof. You heard it from some friends, MUST be true. :biglmao: Well before the incident with the boy who left the team, there were players TWEETING out there "bring Cook back". About their own coach. Now, that was BEFORE this incident. Not to mention the numerous "I'm transferring" statements from 3 of the starters from last year when the new coach got the job. Talk about "respect", seems this coach didn't have it nor did he have a chance to earn it from day #1.

And funny that nobody has answered just what did Cook do while he was here? Win some meaningless games? No district. No region titles. But he's a better coach because???? Give York a couple of years, see what he can do. At worst, after two years, he'll accomplish as much as Cook did....
