Knott Central 58 Letcher Central 56 OT
#1
Kristin Waugh goes for 20 in huge 53rd District win. Letcher came from 7 down to send game into OT.

I heard that one of the players for Letcher blew out her knee in practice. Does anyone know if that's true. If it is I hate to see that happen to anyone.

Kim Meade injured knee in practice Friday. Ligament damage and is scheduled to see a specialist Monday. Will find out extent of injury after that. She is one of the Senior post players.

Great game.

Incredible win for KCC.Waugh had a big game.Thornsberry played phenomenal defense and so did Higgins.A few calls were questionable both ways but Knott wouldn't go away. The deflection by Higgins at the end of overtime gave it back to Knott and that was that for Letcher. Those girls are very close and it shows on the floor and in the locker room! I believe!

This outcome surprised me a little. I didn't think Knott could overcome Letcher, but they did. Congrats to them. However, this is only one game. I wouldn't ride too high on this victory, because I'm sure Letcher will be more prepared next go around.

Adams is one of the best coaches in our region.A little shocked that Letcher had to go into overtime and rally to do so.Coach Adams will make the Letcher girls learn from this and move on.Congrats to Knott.

Wow!!!!! This was a game. It had me on my toes the entire time. Popcorn was everywhere!!!! Stamper, Higgins, and Waugh carried them in points. Waugh struggled from the 3 point line 2/10 but she did not give up. The Letcher eagles kept coming back. They were just like the energizer bunnies! They keep going and going. Higgins (6), Hollified (6), and Fallon Slone (7) worked hard on the boards. Higgins big steal at the end lead to a foul by Letcher and the 8th grader sinked both free throws putting the patriots up by two to win the game!!!!!! Great job lady Pats!!!!
