Word today in Corbin is parents got into fight which work it's way over into the players fighting on court. Any details?

Heard the same thing but no details either other than a couple of people got thrown out from Middlesboro and a lot of arguing with refs. Have no idea who was thrown out.

Don't know what High School Sports are coming to!! Middlesboro and Lynn Camp in fight. McCreary Central and Pineville in a fight. When I played High School Basketball you hardly ever seen players fighting during a game. Dang it's just a game. Jack Cupp and I beat each other to death in High School and fight never entered either of our minds, It was just the way we played the Game. Go play have fun, just remember someone has to lose, get over it.

There was no fighting between the players of either team. Best I can understand was that a LC player came down with a rebound and secured the ball with his elbows out. A Middlesboro player was all over him, the LC kid turned and apparently his elbow made contact with the other kids head, noting intentional, no one was injured. A foul was called on Middlesboro. The parent of the kid that got hit, as well as his brother went wild and was screaming and yelling at the refs. So the small ref threw them out. As they were leaving they continued to yell and act wild. When they passed the LC fanbase apparently the dad told some of the LC parents/fans (Im gonna knock your kids teeth out/ or How would you like it if your kids teeth got knocked out). Im sure more was said but that is when things went crazy. Some LC parents went after the Middlesboro parent and the stands started to empty as well as Middlesboro's bench. I am not sure if any one actually got into a fight, things apparetly were just heated althought I am sure things could have got bad. 1 player for LC was ejected for standing up and 4 from Middlesboro were ejected. From what I am told more should of been ejected from Middlesboro for running onto the court. I also believe that Middlesboros coaches wife was tossed out of the game as well. There was no T's called during this ordeal. As far as the players go, I think it was a smooth game. Just crazy parents getting out of control. I was told there was no police at the event which could have helped calm things down quicker and properly escorted the fans that were ejected out of the game.

Slamup is correct in what happened. From what I understand the lady that got kicked out was the the coach's wife as well as their scorekeeper. She was ejected because she left the table to yell at the small ref during the incident. Lynn Camp's official scorer left the table as well, but he said nothing to an official, and got to stay because he and their announcer were helping get the situation under control. I thought both teams handled themselves very well in continuing to finish the game after the emotional outbursts for parents.

Jack played at Bush High School and Cumberland College. He was AD at North Laurel for a while. Don't know if he was an official or not. We didn't fight, just beat each other up in Ball Game.

That's him. He was one of the top officials in the 13th Region in the 1980s.

This kinds of stuff happens with Middlesboro. It seems like everytime that Bell County plays Middlesboro there is always a fight or something like this after the game. The KHSAA or something or someone needs to stop this because this is getting much worse than it is. It's getting to the point where no one will get to be allowed to play anyone in no sports because of the fans. It needs to be put to a STOP now.

I don't know what it is but their is something about a ball game that will make you act like a idiot or make so happy for your team its crazy

Don't I know it!!
Listen, I have jeered many a ref in my lifetime but Jack Cupp was the ONLY one that ever intimidated me. He peered at me out of the top of his eyes, and told me to sit down. Well, I couldn't put my butt down quick enough!! LOL
We nic named him Buford after the star in "Walking Tall". I still think the name fits!!!

You will find that in most situations, it is the fans and or parents that cause the scuffle. Didn't know the coaches wife was thrown out. I go and watch Middlesboro when they are home, but I cannot watch a beating like HC gave them. I left...this is ridiculous. No reason Middlesboro should ever get beat that bad.

I feel badly for Middlesboro. They graduated several skilled players and then lost both basketball coaches. That's a kick in the pants when you're trying to build a program, and I hear that there isn't a lot of support for the sports program from the administration.
I've always like Middlesboro and love the support from their fan base, especially the student section!
As far as the coach's wife is concerned, I've seen her act ugly before. I wasn't surprised to hear that she had been thrown out.

Middlesboro used to have a proud sports program. Why has the bottom fell out? Football underachieved in a big way and the basketball team is struggling.

You have talent in that school system, but I will say it again, these kids and parents get tired of playing kids just because of who they are. It has caught up with them. I didn't know two coaches quit. Thompson left and Shackleford was his assistant and he took over. I haven't a clue who his assistants are. The only support you are going to get from administration is for football and you see what a mess that turned out to be. Middlesboro's fans are wonderful and I am glad at least they are out there supporting them.

The girls' coach, Debbie Green, came to Harlan County.
And I agree about Middlesboro's fans!

Middlesboro seems to be a complete sports disaster. How long will the fans put up with this?

No one actually got into a fight. The Middlesboro fan straightened up when he looked around and was only him and one other and about 40 fans from LC after him in the lobby lol.

Depends on who you are! BB coach may not make it. Football coach will go 0-10 , 1-9 next year and nothing. Just depends on who you are.
Regardless of what kind of Coach Shackleford is, you will not know until he gets some talent on this team. He will not be given a chance. Coach Cal could come in here and not have any better record, fact.
This will go on in all sports for the next two years.
