The last 4 times that NewCath won state they lost to Beechwood in the regular season. One of those years was 2005. How'd that state game go again?

Newcath beat Beechwood in regular season in 2012 & went onto win state.

I don't want to knock NCC at all. They are deserving of praise for what they have done. But, I'm sure by this time even the blue and gold clad coaching staff knows with the limited talent they have this year, there is no way they compete with a solid Colts bunch. Most of the gold balls are coming back west this year.

I don't say things that I don't mean. I really can't knock them. They just don't in any area have the talent to match the Colts this year. They look slower than any NCC team I remember seeing. I'm sure they will rebound soon though.

They are slower on the lines w the exception of Lawrence who is an animal. However, every year NewCath is too slow this time of year according to films and every year they play exciting finals against superior athletic teams. Maybe they really aren't that slow.

No, normally they match up pretty well. They may be slower in some positions on a regular year. However, it's not so much that it creates separation. This year appears to be different though. I do follow them year in and year out. That's just my take on this bunch. I think they are a little young this year though.

They are as fast as ever at the skill positions. They lack size there. The defensive edges are a little slow and lose. I will give you that. Inside linebacker is much more instinctual than athletic. You can pass on them and hurt them on the outside w a good scrambling QB

NCC 17-Desales 7. Both matchup well, but NCC wins because of special teams.

shakeman is enjoying some wacky herbs on his christmas vacation. special teams will not be the difference. the difference is going to be talent and coaching. desalles out coached us last season and last years ncc team was better than this one in all three phases. desalles took advantage of our weak pass defense and exploited our outside lbs. lets not forget a 4th and 15 deep in desalles territory and schneider calls a swing pass into the boundry that was tackled for a loss. after he calls it he says, "i know this is a bad call." unreal...... ive said it many, many times, u dont win football games because one or both of these reasons. its either bad coaching or bad players, if you got a combination of both, no chance. since 2010 with the 4 years i coached at ncc and this last year i have watched, this is by far the weakest east side i have seen in 2A and desalles is by far the best team to come out of the west the last two years.
