I'm just saying that the calls could have favored the road team just as easily as the home team. These aren't local officials.
Now, as to which team they favored tonight? I'll leave that up to you guys that were there to fight it out...

Sounds like a freaking Franco Harris immaculate reception! Congrats to Central.
My god what an emotional ending.

At Corbin so I call bull.

Here's the facts about Central. If it is close at the end you will lose to them every time. I've seen it time and time again. Corbin being up 26 to 0 and lost is their own fault. I said that Corbin didn't have the discipline to beat Central and they proved that observation right.
Congrats to Central. One of their posters said hey never get props after wins. I'm giving you props. Your ability to make plays at the end is second to none. It's really unbelievable but it happens time and time again.

In reflection of the game:
Again, congrats to CENTRAL! Great speed and quickness. You deserved to win the game jus as much as Corbin... Bottom line to me is, Corbin should have never let this game be as close as it was and let 13 sec and 1 final drive decide this game, or 3-4 calls by the zebras .. Their defense absolutely could not make the plays it needed to to win the game... Pass, Pass, Pass... This is why it takes all 3 phases to win in the late season.. 2/3 will never get you a ring order form..... Both teams played hard, both staffs coached hard... Congrats Hounds on your season! Congrats seniors and thx for the excitement, blood, sweat, tears you provided for your school, and community... See ya in '15!!!! Gonna be more of the same.... #grind #bet

To say "the zebras" favored a group of inner city boys out in the mountains is VERY UNBELIEVABLE.
I'm willing to bet the zebras and Corbin had one thing in common.

C'mon man you are better than that. Stop trying to bring race in this thing.
Enjoy the win! I know Coach Scroggins and the Yellowjacket players sure are! Central is right back where they always are.

No he is not better than that.... The race card is a sign of weakness and Bullshi*

Corbin blows a 26 point lead and it's the official's fault. Classic.
Maybe Central was just the best team on the field last night.

That's about as low class as you can get. We aren't in the 20-60's this is 2014. What's up with that?? Totally uncalled for and out of line.

Congrats to Central. Someone had to win the game. But to said Central dominated the game is to say you weren't there. I will give Central coach credit he found something on offense that worked and they did it. The last play with time on the clock Corbin's DB finally makes the play, then luck steps in Good Luck, Bad Luck or Dumb Luck is not for me to say. Someone kicks the ball as it falls to the ground and Central catches it. (I only thought this stuff only happened to UK) Corbin makes the tackle, horn and cannon go off. This is where you usually see several Zebras head toward the exit in a hurried manner, but not this time, a flag is thrown on the defense. One last play with pretty good Def, #2 makes the tough catch after missing several though out the night. Game Over. Again congratulations Central. And great season Redhounds. I have enjoyed it very much.

I am sitting here dying with laughter. After all the times teams went to corbin and got screwed by officiating and corbin people want to get on here and whine about officiating. All I can say is Karma.

Congrats to Central. They were impressive in every way. I'm really surprised by the small mindedness I'm seeing on this thread. This was a game for the ages. Sure it hurts for Corbin now, but the kids from BOTH teams hopefully, and most importantly carry important life lessons from this game (perseverance, sacrifice, teamwork, etc) that will help them make good decisions in the real world.
Both teams had opportunities, and one team bad a little more luck than the other. I don't want to beat that horse to death on this particular post. They ALL left everything they had on the field.
As a Corbin fan, I'm particularly proud of our kids. Especially our seniors. I'm proud of Coach Haddix and his staff. I feel like if it were not for some good coaching, we may not have had an opportunity to win the game at the end. A new staff, a new system, district title and 11 win season. Not a bad first year. The Middle School is sending up a state champion class...things are looking up for Corbin. They may have lost last night, but believe me, the Haddix Hounds will bounce back, and Redhound fans have plenty to be excited about.

I can't speak personally to the officiating because I was at Lexington Catholic game. However, I can tell you that the topic of discussion in the press box was the referees at the Central/Corbin game. Boyle and Catholic were in a dogfight of their own, and the only thing anyone in the press box was talking about was the officiating at another game in another class. They were all scrambling around to find out who the officials were and where they may be from. I was wondering what the observations would look like from both sides. Football is one sport where officiating can have an overall effect on the game, but I have no clue of knowing since I was at another game. I can tell you though other people not at the game were just as intrigued and I wonder if the KHSAA will look into it since it is indeed the playoffs?
On another note, I did pick Corbin in this one, but I also posted several times how impressive coach Scroggins is. Every single year their schedule seems to get tougher and tougher, and because of that Central is always prepared for any situation. Like last year their 9-4 against the toughest competition anyone in 3A plays. Anybody that is familiar with coach Scroggins and his Central team will not be surprised by this score or comeback. Along with coach Morris at Mayfield, he is one of the best at second half adjustments and they'll always be in-reach of any game they are apart of, especially in the playoffs. I know belfry knows that all too well. If it not for central, belfry would've had several more titles.

Someone said it earlier, you have to drive a stake into Central's heart. No first half deficit is insurmountable for the Jackets. Great effort by the Hounds, but Scroggins past experience coaching this late in the season kept Central calm in the face of such a big hole. You can't say enough about a great leader's ability to compose his team, especially high school kids.

Guys, race is an issue in everything. Society tries to keep the black man down. That's why we will never have a black US President.

I don't know who the refs were, one of them knew coach greer by name though. He told greer down by the goalpost after the game that he got what he deserved, whatever that meant I don't know. One of the other refs pulled him away then.

Coach Haddix started working today for next season, and I'm just not making a statement he actually started at looking at the future. I think with the 8th grade coming up and a few kids that will be transferring in the Hounds will be back next year.
