Both of them put up a lot of points and can score in waves. Raceland is around 41 points a game and Paintsville is right at 30. That's including playoffs. Raceland's defense seems to peaking at the right time, and with the exception of Ironton, they've only given up three touchdowns since the end of September. I would not be shocked at all to see them in Bowling Green.

Going with Paintsville in this one. After DOMINATING Pikeville, I think it provided the Tigers with confidence in themselves compared to the last go around. You get a line, a group of skills and a 6'3 225 QB/LB believing and expecting to win, anything can happen. Best of luck.

I didnt realize that, but you are right. Outside of the Ironton game, our starting defense has given up 3 TDs since the first game in Ocober. All 3 were to Fairview. Our JV/Frosh kids have done a great job preserving scoring margins and shutouts as well.
IMO, what has made the difference in our offense is or improvements in the running game. No, we dont have that signature back that gobbles up 150/game. But we have a hardnosed, north to south, facemask to the chest, downhill, never say die RB in JRs Kane Snyder(900+yds) and Carson Christian(600+yds), Is a great combination of agility, strength, and power. You couple that with Young, Messer, and Walker(only a soph and the kid is a mule) they all combine for around 900 yards and you have alot to deal with coming out of the backfield. Couple that with Messer, Dixon, and Howard at the WRs and you have an offense that you must be balanced against. You cant stack the box because of our passing game(the numbers dont show how good it really is, even with Young's 1600 yards and 23 TDs. And if you play a man or nickel defense will either find a soft spot or send our wr down the field and allow our lines speed to trap and counter to open up holes. I expect a great ball game tonight though. Goina be another cold evenin!

The last time these teams played the Paintsville offense couldn't do anything and the Rams were in the Tiger backfield all night. I look for the Raceland defense to have similar results this week. The last time these two teams played I saw a lot of Paintsville players limping off of the field because Raceland was hitting them hard all night. I also love how diverse we are on the offensive side of the ball. The success of the running game makes it easy to forget that we have a home run player in Connor Messer who is capable of scoring anytime he touches the ball. This is the most complete Raceland team that I have seen in several years and they are going to be very hard to beat, especially at home.

I think Raceland learned a lesson from Pikeville they won't make the mistake of overlooking Paintsville. The key for Raceland in this game is to come out and hit hard and score early to kill Paintsville's spirit.

I don't think Pikeville overlooked Paintsville.

I left off that all three were to the same team in two separate games. The big thing that stands out for me is even when you add the 25 points that Irontom put up in the loss, since September 26th Raceland is only giving up 7.5 points a game. Even the week before the 26th was 14 points given up in a blowout. For the past two months, Raceland has had lockdown defense and they are definitely putting everything together at the right time. It may be a cliche but defense will absolutely win you championships.

Well you weren't limping during the first Raceland game, and Raceland's defense is better than Pikeville's defense. I expect a closer game, but the same results: a Raceland victory.

Who would've thought at the beginning of the year that it could possibly be Paintsville and Hazard in the semis?
11-21-2014, 10:39 PM
If we are on top of our game and we come out and stick the knife in and turn it. I like Raceland's chances. This game will be won upfront. Both teams can talk about skill players all they want if the Hog Molly's upfront cant block you ain't gonna win! and that's the bottom line cuz RAM-A-DEVIL said so!!!

Case in point. The first match up between these two. Belcher, Daniel, Hendricks, and Trimble are all very capable play makers for the Tigers. Problem was, Raceland nearly got into their backfield before they even got the ball. Gotta have the hogs upfront to allow those play makers to do their work. Thats why I think the game is closer in the first half than last time, but the margin of victory will probably be about the same. We (Raceland) didnt play well in the 2nd half last go around. Really want to see us put an entire 4 quarters together.
