No one seems to give the tigers any credit.. That's fine these kids don't need it. They are going go out and give it all they got and see what happens..

Hazard would have beat Pikeville in Pikeville had Dixon not been tossed.

That is the problem with all the Belfry haters! When a fan or few do make excuses you all want to lump us all together as whiners or whatnot. If you will go back to the thread most Belfry fans gave their props to Pikeville and pointed out what Belfry done wrong. As far as the Bobcat fans getting on Danville threads and making excuses, I don't know. Not very many Bobcat fans on here and they have not had very good success in football throughout the years, so that would lead one to believe they have no reason to make excuses.
Ma'am you're right. It was Another pirate td who my comments should have been directed toward. You just decided to stick you nose in it. I really don't care enough to go back through the other thread to see who said what. I just find it funny how some other Belfry fans can't get past the loss.

That's the most tired damn excuse on this site. What about Dixon makes him the difference in that game? Does he not have a staff of assistants? Was he wearing pads and missing tackles on Pugh, etc? No. Dixon is a fine coach. He got himself tossed. The fact that the spineless, nutless KHSAA let him coach anyway just adds fuel to the conspiracy theorists who believe Pikeville owns the refs, has a bigger recruiting budget and pipelines to talent rich Texas, Ohio, wherever and so forth. Fact is they are a pitiful excuse for a governing body. We'd be better off going down to Bank253 at midnight on a Saturday night and asking someone leaning against the wall to enforce the rules. Hazard lost. Belfry lost. Prestonsburg lost. All quality opponents. All lost. At Pikeville, fair and square. Has not ONE damn thing to do with coaches getting tossed or not, it's the young men on the field executing. Normally, I try to be respectful of you, 55. But your constant drumbeat of this is making it harder and harder to ignore your comments on the Dixon situation.
Good luck to all remaining teams for an injury free game next week. May the best teams win, and hopefully no coaches get tossed, or 55 will blame the loss on that for you.

Couple quick things about the game, Tiger defense was lights out all night and when Pikeville would mount a drive they had huge plays. First was the strip fumble by Kash I think then the ball hops right into Luke's arms as he takes it to the house then the one handed pick by Belcher and run back inside the Pikeville 40 then the td after chewing more clock. Would love to see the stats but IMO Chirico laid out a defensive game plan that was executed flawlessly. Offense looked really good throughout the game that put together long drives and kept Pikeville spread and off balance.
Congrats to Pikeville on an outstanding season and also congrats to Paintsville on a tremendous effort, stay mentally tough again next week. Total team win and the biggest in many years.

PHSForever Wrote:What gets me is that a school that has been CAUGHT cheating and punished for it very recently, actually has fans stupid enough to get on here and flap their gums about recruiting or juicing up. Pike Central, when they had that other coach, might as well have had Sandy Valley Transportation running their bus routes. Would have saved a boatload of wear and tear on their coaches cars.
The Daniels boy tried to transfer to Pikeville on his own. When you win, you attract players (like Belfry). KHSAA denied it, so he went back. If anything, I respect him a little more now for having gone back and apparently fitting right back in with his teammates, as they seem to have a good rapport on the field. So kudos to the young man for that, and their coaches as well.
As for the Pike Central fan? Well, it is funny how a school that's never won anything tries to flap their gums. Jealousy is an ugly color, but I guess it is prettier than that ugly old burnt orange and blue up on the hill. Lol
LOL, burnt orange. It's obviously the orange is burning your ass for some reason or you wouldn't be posting. What's your personal claims to fame. "We killed a bear, but daddy shot it." LMAO.

Paintsville was a program in dire straits just a couple of years ago. They have proven what a community and school can do when they rally behind a group of young men. My hat is off to Paintsville on their ability to persevere and show what hard work will accomplish. Good Luck to the Tigers next week.

WOW!!!!
Congrats to Coach Chirico and the Tigers. Good luck next game.
Congrats to Pikeville on a great season.
I wonder if the direction Paintsville is heading, along with the transfer of a top player in Belcher this year, will lead to more transfers from JC to Paintsville?

Neither school has ever won a state football championship, but Paintsville's enrollment is much smaller than the largest 1A schools, which is a definite disadvantage. Belcher is the only starting player that I can recall leaving Johnson Central to play for Paintsville since Matney became head coach. With the Golden Eagles' best days ahead of them, I don't see many following in his footsteps.

Belcher played at Paintsville until middle school and his dad was a long time Paintsville assistant basketball coach under Runyon...He went back home.

LMAO.I have all my teeth. And I could care less about that school on the hill. Seriously, I know some of their kids and am always happy for them personally when they do well. But otherwise, the school is on my mind maybe less than 1 time in any year. No crow at all to eat, my only reason for posting is I find it ludicrous for a supporter of that school to have the nerve to talk about Pikeville or a kid who transfers to Pikeville WITHIN THE RULES while they have a documented history of having been caught cheating up there.

I am very impressed with the Tiger's effort and big win. The RAMS will need to be on top of their game next Friday (as I believe they will be) to defend their Regional Championship.

OK...
I think it's time to quit all the nastiness in the thread. The game's outcome may have been a shock, but it is only one loss. To Pikeville's credit, it was their ONLY loss of the season. That means the Panthers had an outstanding season.
For Paintsville... What a game !!! The Tigers move on and will go at another nemesis next week...

According to him, Mayfield is apparently the greatest program of all time, ever, and other schools such as Highlands, St. Thomas Aquinas, Moeller, Belfry, Trinity and St. X, etc are just lucky Mayfield lets them have some of the limelight, if you'd believe his posts. . Blaming refs is the same as losers limp, it's just a way to limp off the field, get a hearty round of applause for yourself, and avoid any more hard hitting. End of discussion. Paintsville got off the bus.pikeville did not.this is a different tiger team than what I saw in the first game.i did not think 3 new players would make that much difference.but I was wrong.i have heard every excuse from the refs were from the raceland area to the refs flagged Pikeville way too many times.fact is,paintsville just beat Pikeville.congrats to Paintsville for the win and congrats to the panthers on a great season.good luck to all the mountain teams and the eastern teams in the playoffs.

You know, I have to say this and before I do, I'm not trying to rub salt into a wound or try make anyone eat crow or whatever. I have never seen a team that got beat 62-8 earlier in the year come back and beat that same team 30-6. WOW!! What a turnaround!! I'm mean Pikeville may very well had looked past Paintsville, but even so, you have to give Paintsville a lot of credit for getting a lot better through the year. I've never seen such a big turn-around in all my years in football. Good luck Friday night Tigers!

Thanks for not just simply discussing the points being made in adult like manner when you have nothing to stand on with the exception of just not liking Belfry fans. I went back to the Danville/Betsy Layne thread and there was a Betsy Layne fan "whining" over the loss. JP is fine, things like this happen and Paintsville was due after thirty years. When you have season after season of winning who wouldn't stick their chest out ? I would but it's time to knock this stuff off and move on to next week because I can assure you Pikeville Football will be back next year just as strong and so will Paintsville as they bring everyone back.
