Don Carlo will be out before too long to fill us all in on what went wrong this time seasons over now.

Cov. Cath. was the better team tonight.

A blocked field goal returned for a touchdown was the turning point of this game.

The score was way lower than I thought it would be.

Cov. Cath.'s defense bent but didn't break.

Johnson Central has it made next year. Highlands, Cov Cath, Boyle, Lex Cath are all leaving 4A.
#17
I was thinking it was 4A that is going to be loaded but it is 3A. Covington Catholic and Highlands will move to 5A ?

Yup. 3A will be the funnest class to watch by far.
#19
Congrats JC on a great regular season.

I'm going to be honest, the Eagles surprised me. I didn't think they were all that good after a 35-0 win over us literally in the most injury plagued game I've ever seen Belfry play. So, honestly, I figured CovCath would dust them. Big testament to Matney, great season Eagles. Glad I was wrong.
#22
Good Season JC!!!!!
#23
Sounds like decision to try a 54 yard FG cost them big.

Only people that really thought that going in to the season were the people that wanted to see JC fail. Honestly. When a team loses 8 offensive starters (whole backfield) and plays 6 sophomores and a freshman on defense they should get DRILLED by a Cov Cath. A school with 560+ boys and dresses close to 100 players. This was a rebuilding year.

I really thought this game would be a straight up track meet......

I would love to see the Time of Possession stat.

Congrats to JC on a good season. Thinks look good in the future with your young kids and a great middle school bunch coming up.

The JC senior class has the best Win/Loss record in school history and won three straight District Championships. They are were apart of the only teams in school history to have back-to-back undefeated regular seasons.

2014: 11-1 (District Champs; 10-0 Regular Season)
2013: 11-1 (District Champs; 10-0 Regular Season)
2012: 9-3 (District Champs)
2011: 9-3

40-8

Well Coach Matney, the 35-0 win against us didn't mean anything...oh well bye Eagles!

I guess this is a lesson in how "not" to schedule a regular season in preparation for a deep run in the playoffs!!!!!!!! Just saying..................

In most cases I don't think scheduling has anything to do with a teams future success, but in this case it had everything to do with it.

Got to play tougher teams. These seniors may not have went 40-8, but they still would have won districts and actually seen a good team before November. Playing these out of state schools just aren't cutting it for preparation.
