Belfry beat SCHS 49-14 in the regular season in 98 or something like that and turned around and got beat 15-14 or something like that by SCHS in the regional championship that season. Anything can happen on a friday night and tonight only proves it all over the state they play the games for a reason.

district 7 class 1A best in the state as far as small schools go. all teams are tough outs

paintsville had a few starters out in the first matchup and then i believe they pulled a bunny out of a hat and got someone mid stream to go along with Belcher who im happy for looks like he knew what he was doing after all as paintsville is the only team playing football in ole johnson county

Shocking result. Something is severely wrong when you see a 78 point turnaround from the regular season matchup to the postseason matchup.

I'm going to give Paintsville a due....When Harlan beat them in 06 I thought that was the end.I nearly fought with several of their fans. From there I wanted to see them lose forever. To see them win this game just pushes me to the edge as a fan...Go Tigers!

One of the only teams to steal first place votes from Mayfield gets hammered in round 2. I remember all the crap that was being slung earlier in the year about how they would get us. I guess some forget the saying, you know, "your not the best til you beat the best".

Finally someone brought them off that high pedestal, of beating belfry who won tonight , great season for panthers ,but see what happens when u look ahead and don't worry about your current oppent. This is one for the record books and couldn't happened to a more classy, greasy , sneaky , coaching staff . :lame:::lmao::hilarious::ole big coach mac coached em up tonight hah,:. They finally got what they deserves, for all trash talking. Eat your crow panthers you've earned it .Maybe if they've still had same d coordinator they beat paintsville with past few years they wouldn't have given up 30 points to the tigers, instead of thinking you'd won state when u beat belfry. Let's here those excuses begin. Better team won ,simple came to play ,more beef in the backfield.( to bad pikeville couldn't get dainiels eligible when they recruited him, would've helped tonigh . Did not see this coming in any way, shape or form! That coaching staff at Paintsville deserves SOOO much credit for having those young men believe that they could win a game like this after the way Pikeville laid it to them early in the year. And to the Tiger team, hats off to you for the way you performed when you were obviously a HUGE underdog! Raceland is an excellent team, very talented and well coached, but so was Pikeville. I don't think the Rams would make the mistake of being over confident against the Tigers, but if they do, well, Raceland's season will end next Friday in the same manner that Pikeville's ended tonight. Should be one great game with each team having some fine play makers! Looking forward to going to this one!

im still shocked by this score. with this happening, it makes me almost glad that Raceland had to really fight to win against Fairview again. hopefully keeps us from getting the big head. Pikeville was my pick to rep the east. Paintsville was my sleeper that seems to have finally woke up. Can someone tell me what the difference was to cause a nearly 80 point turnaround? this just doesnt happen. Raceland thumped Pikeville 54-12 at home then lost in OT by 6 AT Pikeville in the playoffs. But that game was on the road and it took OT to decide the winner. this game never seemed to be in question. Has the offense changed? Bc the offense that I saw against Raceland in the regular season was dormant. Extremely happy for Paintsville! Go tigers...till about 6 days and 18 hours from now. Enjoy this one!!
