ballstar Wrote:If you read my post I said that Cordia and EKY schools have done a lot of recruiting. No doubt in my mind Cordia has broken every rule imaginable. I'm not taking up for Cordia by any means but I will say that for anyone to think that these other schools aren't doing a lot of the same thing to get kids then your kidding yourselves IMO.
I read your post's and I know you have always been critical of cordia, but the point I am trying to make NO school has broken as many rules as cordia!!!

They will give the recruits parents a job, free car, housing, and the list goes on and on. Just ask Jason Hatcher. So many people with ties to the school. They dont need someone running or working at Trinity to give them anything. Its done through outside sources. If I was rich, it would be no different than me bringing in a family or two and giving them free housing, a job, or whatever. I guess not to many people in this area have that kind of money. Im sure Scott County has many boosters as well that go the extra mile for the school.
I don't know Jason Hatcher personally warmachine, please tell us all the perks he received at Trinity!

I agree w/ you KyFan35. They broke more rules in 2/3 years than most all schools put together. I think we are all agree there! I just think they aren't the only school recruiting they are just the only one that got caught. Like UK24 said they need to man up and take what was coming to them but they will not do that. KentuckyFan35, what do you think about my earlier post when I said I think KHSAA is selective on which schools they target and the players they target? Just wondering if its just me or is there something to it!

I don't think the issue is that Cordia is the only school recruiting OR the only school that got caught.
I think the issue is that Cordia is the only school that sues the KHSAA on a yearly basis so their kids can play.
That is what started the witch hunt.

I agree Zaga. I truly believe Cordia brought all this mess upon themselves.

I agree %100! But then again if Billy Hicks asks a player to come to Scott Co. and that Player and Family moves to Scott Co. and Dad gets a job at Toyota. The player is eligible!!! The only rule broken is Billy Hicks asking the player to come to Scott Co. and that would be impossible to prove!

Cordia got house around the school over there. That they can let who they want to sit in them. Cordial is a priv school, but they are part of the Knott co. Schools system. Because the they can't keep the doors open if they did not do that. How many of there kids can go there, if they didn't do that.
The kids that Trinity go after that can't pay to go there, they get Financial Aid or have someone else to pay there way. An also there family don't have to move there. The school got a house system.
So what wrong with what Cordial done,to the thing that Trinity and St. X have been doing for years.

Rhodes thinks he's done no wrong and therein lies the problem. No way they get off that easy, jmo. And nobody just pickin' on Rhodes for no reason."We going to sue" gets old after a while.Take the 15 games and no postseason and let it go.

My biggest issue and seems to be that of a lot on here is the kids are the one being punished. I feel this is also a problem in college. Make it tougher on the coaches and administrators that make these stupid decisions. Kids are kids and need GOOD role models to learn from. I will use John Noble of Buckhorn as an example. Great leader and role model. Has not won a regional title but in my opinion has as much success as any coach in this region. Heck I would say give him the same type of players and he would have a few regional titles as well. BUT, in my opinion his players learn as much about life as they do basketball. Let the kids play but punish the idiot adults.

Mark it down. Cordia will be playing in the postseason, like it or not. From what I am hearing, they are going to win the war instead of every battle. Yesterday was just one of many steps. You better strap on your boots because this ride is about to get interesting.

Here we go again!
When the KIDS (or parents-guardians of these KIDS) accept free housing, food and grades they should also be held accountable!!! By the way these KIDS are eligible to go to another school or back home where they belong!!! - See more at: http://www.bluegrassrivals.com/forum/sho...5IgvI.dpuf

I think a parent getting a job over applicants would be classified as improper benefits. But just as Cordia is showing the KHSAA and will continue to-good luck proving it!

You can not prove that a job was given improperly!!! Even though we all know it to be true!!!

Well,if that's the case, alot of 14th region teams are in trouble. How many parents of basketball players are hired at the school or on the staff so Junior can play for them? LOTS of them, not just the 14th either.I don't know the answer either but it's outta hand for sure.

I think all adults responsible should share the blame. I agree to say the parents and families should be ashamed as well if they took part in any wrong doing. However, you cannot blame these kids regardless of where they are from.

The kids that were involved should leave or not play, but the ones that have been here from the start should not have this taken from them. Just not about the kids anymore, guess they don't matter, adults just get to do all this mess and then the kids are the ones that have to suffer. Just not right if you ask me!!!!!

Won't be in trouble at all, getting a job is NOT a violation!!! This is America!!!

I think it's pretty useless to say, "they did it a lot more than anyone else, or on a larger scale".
That's basically saying its ok if you have 2-3 recruits, and saying that it's ok in general..
Just not ok for Cordia.
You sound like an idiot with that banter.

One more time D1,
If the KIDS accepted free housing, clothes, and tuition they have to be held accountable!!!
There is not enough cordia kids left to field a team!!!

I was sitting watching my son at meet the warriors last nite. SW has a kid named david thats from nigeria. He has not been ruled eligible yet. Probably wont. I will have to say I never felt sorry for these kids till last nite. I cant imagine what is going on inside this kids head. Good kid from what I can tell. He has to be scared, worried etc. I blame the guys that bring them here in the first place but they are probably better off here than where they came from. Its all a mess.

This Cordia drama is unbelievable. When money fell out of the envelope during Sutton's tenure,UK got the hammer. Cordia and other schools get caught for whatever reason, the price needs to be paid.Regardless of what we all think, the young kids suffer. The parents of those children should have did research on where they are sending the kid and somebody needs to be held accountable no matter what KHSAA school it is.

You would never be able to prove that Heisenburg Effect!!! A Principal, cite based council or board of education can hire who they want no matter what the reason!!!
