Tigers ready for playoffs.

Even with the weather this score suprises me. With the Paintsville backfield, I expected alot more points scored.

I thought the same thing about the Ironton game but Belcher is out and did not play and Hendricks isn't a running back for sure. On the road 9 point win and shut out against a 3A team on senior night works for me.
Trying to listen to the game on the radio was almost impossible, the play by play guy gets worse each year.

Congrats guys

A win is a win.

9-0....
One TD w/ an XP and a safety?
Three field goals?
One TD, missed XP and a field goal?

Just a quick congrats to the Tigers, first time since 05 they have won 8 regular season games. Also to the staff they have done a good job preparing for each game. I just wish Sullivan was still here.

I agree. Chirico is getting one step closer every year. Hendricks is a WR/RB. But the teams e has faced have enough outside speed to atleast contain him. West isnt as bad as their record shows. They are just weak upfront( seems to be the norm for the County schools in our area). Back to my thoughts on Paintsville. They should really take notice of what Raceland has done with their program over the last several years. Slow growth and a teachig style of coaching goes a long way. Chirico is a good coach and the community and more importantly the kids really seem to buy in to him. I think he needs a few more links in his staff to get to where the program wants to be. Idk who calls the plays, or if it was simply bc it was his first game and a lack of time to get any type of rhythm, but I thought Paintsvill used Hendricks incorrectly. When the running game between the tackles is non-exhistent, then so will the Jet sweep. Idk why they dont line him up in the slot and get him down field more often. Ive said for years now that Kash has a great arm and is pretty accurate, he just lacked that one reciever that would let him utilize that ability, the piece is finally there. Why not use it?

What type of college looks is Kash getting? Looks like he has been a better LB than anything this year. Idk if hehas the pieces around him to get any major looks at QB. Maybe at tight end though. He has the build for it.

Paintsville has come a long way in a couple of years. It was doom and gloom there a couple of years ago.
#11
I know. And with only 3 teams in the district over the next few years, anything can happen.
#12
A pretty good game between two pretty even teams.

congrats to TIGERS on a fine regular season as best record have had for a few years (good job). Made comment back in summer that if they did not develop with their line that even
though had great skill players that would not be able to compete for district or regional title
as that has played out. Hopefully going forward will be able to get some players to come out next year that can help upfront and be able to compete with Raceland & Pikeville.
congrats to coach C job he has done on getting program headed on the upswing.

Who do they play next?

Allen Central at home. They beat them 51-8 in wk 4. Raceland(will), Paintsville(will) and Fairview as well, will likely win in landslides in rnd 1. Only team in the district that will lose in the first round is Nicholas Co. Heres our region:

4. Phelps at 1. Raceland
3. Fairview at 2. South Floyd
3. Allen Central at 2. Paintsville
4. Nicholas County at 1.Pikeville

Higher seeds will likely win Fairview/South Floyd could be interesting. But all roads are leading to another Raceland/Pikeville showdown for the region.

E, I thought a couple years ago the football program was done. The other beating we took at Pikeville with 15 players dressed in the playoffs that would be it but Chirico has single handedly saved the program IMO and got kids interested in playing.

If chirico can get a few more big bodies, MOBILE, big bodies, Paintsville will grow leaps and bounds. Pound for pound, paintsville may have been bigger than Raceland across the front. But we were just quicker and stronger. Paintsville always seems to have atheletes, but it seems the better big bodies end up at JC. Slow growth equals continued success in the long run. That is what Raceland and Williamsburg have proved over the last 10 years.

For all of single A rounds 3, 4, and 5 will be great football. The Fairview/South Floyd game could get interesting. But just seeing that East Ridge won in a close game over SF, I think Roy and company wil be too much for them to over come. Okay enough trolling...time to start a playoff thread...

Paintsville has proven that if schools will work at it they can put a good product on the field. Glad to see Paintsville back to being one of the better 1A teams in the state. Coach Chirico is a magician to do it so quickly.
