I was listening to the JC radio guys on the way to the game and was shocked that people were calling in and claiming blowouts and running clocks.

I figured it was a 2-3 TD game.

But that was not the case my friends.

With a name like Bob Seger.... I was expecting you to ask for "Turn The Page" or "Like a Rock"

But Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash, I didn't see that one coming.

It was nice to meet some of the Belfry members tonight....

You guys are classy. Even in n defeat, you all showed great sportsmanship.

IMO... that is direct reflection of your head coach.

I talk with Mr. Halsey, Mr. McKenzie and other members of JC's admin. before and after each game.... as a matter of fact I talk with them through the week as well, give them an idea of what will be played.

When fans/parents from the other teams sends you messages on here, FB and texts telling you how much they enjoyed the atmosphere and asking for song ideas for their school.... I gotta believe that the music/clips do make the games more enjoyable. Harlan County, Perry County, Rowan County and Boyd County didn't play any type of music/clips when we went to their stadium, the players looked flat, the crowd really wasn't in to the game and I've been to funeral services that were more lively than those four games.

Sounds like somebody has been drinking too much Haterade and eating way too many Hater Tots.....

Belfry had 6 of what I would have considered the starting defense in this game. The problem is that at safety, not only were the starting two (Catron/Edwards) out, after the injury the SECOND two were out as well (Corbett/Woolum). Woolum had been the 3rd corner up but was having to play safety due to the injuries. Then, IMO, the two most important players in this one were going to be Bentley and Horton which would have helped win the LOS... Talk about beat to death.

That's not even diving into the offense. Starting split-end, both starting RBs, starting TE, and starting QB all out. Luckily Keaton fits into the jack of all trades role. I'm not sure down the stretch what position he will play, but I think split end is where he ends up.

At any rate, no excuses. JC kicked our ass. BUT, we did better than I thought. Heck, two of the scores were set up by beautifully thrown HB passes. I can't complain with that. I was frustrated as I left, but after sleeping on it a little I think we can't be that upset with our effort. I did think our kids played a little like they knew they were beat up, and lacked the fire that was needed.

Worst Belfry crowd I've ever been a part of. I got up and went and stood on the sidelines in the 2nd quarter and even considered leaving. Anyone who knows me, knows that that isn't like me at all. Unbearable bunch.

If my post came across as excuse making, it's not. Hell I'm thankful we now have a bunch of younger guys with the experience of playing a pretty good 4A squad, that will come in handy down the stretch in the playoffs.

Pulp, not gonna lie usually the music at JC bothers me a little but I really enjoyed it last night. You did great.

I predicted 34-7 but it was not out of disrespect to Belfry. Having coached against all these kids during the last 4 years in middle school I knew the type of talent that is on this entire roster. Both programs are blessed with a lot of talent. I am not naïve enough to believe that we are 5 TD's better than the Pirates. With everyone healthy this game could go either way and home field would play a huge factor. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs and lets bring home two state championships. Getting ready to shower and head to Lexington. Maybe Johnson County Middle School 7th can win the KYMSFA State Championship and Belfry can do the same in Division 2. Good luck to these young Eagles and Pirates.

The bolded..... I think JC has thrown the ball better this season than the entire tenure of coach Matney.

Those were probably what I like to refer to as "tape plays" for future opponents to have to waste time preparing for during a weeks practice. They worked and proved once again that the Belfry secondary is THE worst secondary in the state probably when it comes to ball skills.

How many JC or Belfry fans watched the game on WYMT last night????

I wouldn't count Belfry out just yet. Coach Haywood is a very smart Coach. He will use his first 2 playoff games to heal everyone up and they will be healthy for the final push.

Wow, that was a pretty classless remark. You were probably the guy on their sideline last night yelling at the players to "Tee off" on the JC QB when he was out of bounds or screaming "Watch the onside kick" when JC was up 35-0. Since you got your rears handed to you last night, minus your 4 defensive players, against a JC team that sat several starters as well, what does that say about how well Belfry would fair in 4A against the teams they play? The JC D was lights out and I'm highly curious on how many yards Belfry had in the game. The last update that I was given was that the official stats had the Pirates with 53 yards of offense in the first half.

Numbers in these injury stats refer to depth chart as to how many people we have out you can down play the injury aspect of this all you want but it defintely had an impact

Defense:2 DT's, 4 Safeties, 3 CB's
Offense: 1 WR, 2 TE's, 1 QB, 2 HB's

Sorry it was a little more than 4 injuries for our defense.
However your defense absolutely dominated the line of scrimmage from start to finish injuries had nothing to do with you all being in the backfield, the defensive performance from JC was very impressive.

Your offense did not impress me from a base running game standpoint what so ever, it was bland with no exploson off the ball from backs or lineman. 2 gadget plays, and a few QB keepers is all that you really managed. Like it or not those are facts. It was 21-0 until LATE in the 4th and you got 2 cake touchdowns when the possesion started in your own territory off of a failed
4th down conversion and botched punt.

Both teams completely healthy we may still lose, maybe even by the same score but personally I believe if healthy you are realistically looking at a 14-13type game, maybe even 7-6, because both defenses would dominate what looked like 2 pedestrian offenses.

I'll down play it. QB started but got hurt. X played, Keaton played, Hatfield played. Yeah the TE didn't play nor did Ray Ray, but the rest of the O was in according to numerous posts in the prediction thread on this site and on BGPricks. I agree, both offenses did not impress but when you run the same scheme and see it every day in practice, you have probably repped defensively for this game 20,000 plays before last night. That is why I say even with a few backups in on D, it isn't like Belfry didn't know what they were facing. JC just executed their plan much better and rolled their recent record to winning 5 of the last 6 against the Pirates.

You got a roster, you watched the game, you look it up. Unlike you all, I'm not going to single out kids with nicks and bumps to give the opposition a weakness to attack. But I can assure you that 3 did not play.

First thing I would like to say is you need to proof read what you're saying before you post it. Because what you post is third grade. Secondly, there has been no negative comments until you got on here. This game really meant nothing to either team. What really matters is the post season. So I hope both teams heal up and bring home some hardware.

That was uncalled for and yes, classless. There has to be one in every fan base
