Southwestern has all the makings of going on a Bowling Green win streak. The torch might be passed in a possible state title match later on. Thoughts?

Do you play Corbin or Belfry next year?

it would be funny if 8 swept 7

Not the same southwestern team who played Belfry and Corbin earlier in the year. Southwestern much more physical and they have bought in to what Coach French is selling. Tough smashmouth football. Pulaski found that out Friday.

Southwestern is a good team with a good coach but they are not going to go on a Bowling Green win streak.

SW has improved. Pulaski is not the same team without Hall.
When Jim Rome says going on a BG winning streak, does he mean winning 50+ straight games, or does he mean winning 4 State Titles in a row and losing a game or two along the way?
10-28-2014, 03:42 PM
I dont see them winning 50 +

10-28-2014, 03:44 PM
The old Bowling Green is not finished yet! They are 52-1 over the last 4 years and haven't lost to a Kentucky team since 2010. Most people around the program know that we have some of the most talented classes to ever walk the halls of BGHS coming up over the next 5 years. So... You better hurry!

Better than last years Class? Tell us more AP!

Still selling something a bit unrealistic. Different team or not Belfry was a hair away from winning that game 49-7. Pirates had two TD's called back on penalties behind the play and took a knee inside the SW 10 yard line to end the game.
One thing is for sure though..French has his troops rallied and you have to love the turnaround. Barring Haris and Hall returning the Warriors may very well be the favorite to represent the East. To think this was a 1-9 team who missed the playoffs last year is crazy!

You southwestern fans are getting too big for your britches. First beat Madison southern with a full game from Harris then beat a Pulaski team with Hall and Gregory back to his normal position then start bragging. Personally I dont think SW can beat Letcher or N. Laurel in the district and if Harris and Hall are back... then your chances are slim and none to face bowling green.

All I am saying is the pieces might be in place for such a run. Winning streaks includes state championships to answer anyones question
10-28-2014, 05:03 PM
Really? You'd think you guys won the Super Bowl. It is a shame PC didn't play you earlier in the year when they were healthy. BG at least wins with class.
10-28-2014, 05:07 PM
BG is king of 5A until someone beats them. If you want to be the man you got to beat the man.
10-28-2014, 05:08 PM
Bowling Green isn't going away. Highlands isn't going away and they will be on your side of the bracket.
10-28-2014, 05:08 PM
Woody, if you check back in Jim and Frozens previous post by about a month or two you will see that that are PC fans. If SW faces Letcher that means LCC has beaten Pulaski, if SW faces Harris (which they were winning the game when he went out) that means that Southern has beaten Pulaski. While will agree with you that this thread is ridiculous, SW has had a great year and the boys on the home side last Friday out played the boys on the other sideline. Good luck to SW from ETOWN tell the old man his old town still cheers for him. First step of the ladder is Perry County, don't worry about the rest until that Saturday after.

You are being outlandish. You apparently don't know what pieces are necessary to accomplish such a thing. Call BG and ask them. They would probably tell you, knowing that SW couldn't or wouldn't be able to do it. Call Highlands and ask what it takes to win 6 titles in a row. They would probably tell you, knowing that SW couldn't or wouldn't be able to do it.
I know you posted this to get a reaction, so hows that for a reaction.

BG stays on top til somebody knocks them off, IMO.
Good luck to Southwestern, they really are building and improving. But, so is Bowling Green.

Southwestern is geographically crippled to have a Bowling Green type team. Maybe if Southwestern didn't have to share a poplulation with good teams like somerset and Pulaski, they would be like Bowling Green. BGHS is the western Juggernaut. East kentucky is a blood bath.

Yeah, Bowling Green is right there by themselves. Warren Central, Warren East, Greenwood, South Warren, Glasgow, Franklin Simpson and Allen County don't have any players. Warren, Barren, Simpson, and Allen county pale in comparison to the talent and team level of play in "East Kentucky". No talent in this area. Never has been. Nothing to see here move along.

You've got me interested. Who are you considering as East Kentucky? I know different people have different opinions on that.

First of all I am taking nothing away from SW. They are a good up and coming team. I am very aware of how the district playoffs are seeded. My point was if they are saying they are ready to take on a Bowling Green they first have to come out of this district and any scenario where they may have to play PC -Mad South at full strength or Letcher and N.Laurel at some point then I am not so sure they make it out of the district. True they were ahead of Mad South before Harris got hurt but he was on pace to score another 2-3 tds and rush for another 200 plus yards. guess we will never know how that would have played out along with PC game if Hall had played. SW is very good but the jury is still out on how good.

Basically east of I-75. However, if you don't count Southwestern, Somerset, Pulaski, etc. as "central", then they would have to be included as well. Certainly they aren't western Kentucky.

Don't count on it, I will take PC'S freshmen and sophomores over SW'S any day. They started 5 freshmen or sophomores offensively and 5 defensively in the game against Corbin (10 different kids). So to say SW will own the county is completely false. There will also be 3 to 4 more freshmen or sophomores that get big varsity minutes when they get healthy. I will put my money on PC for at least 3 more years. Everyone wants to get on the Coach French bandwagon but don't forget PC has a pretty good coach also.
- See more at: http://www.bluegrassrivals.com/forum/sho...88763 Jim Rome is not a SW Warrior fan, he is on here just to create havoc and discord. No true Warrior fan has posted this garbage about our team being anything less than fortunate to be where we are. But don't discredit the hard work these kids have put in, injuries are part of the game we had them,we dealt with them. PC played Mad South without Harris seeing the field, why is no one questioning their abilities to compete with Mad South and Harris? PC fans replied to Hall going down as they would not miss a beat, after losing to a fired up bunch of Warriors you change your story to we were disadvantaged. You can't have it both way's. Good Luck to all the teams in the Playoffs Praying all will remain injury free. GOO WARRIORS!!!

Woody I don't think you have to worry about SW's team thinking about Bowling Green, I'm sure French has them focused for one game at a time. As for the only ones that have said anything this whole year on this site about SW being number 1 or heading to Bowling Green (which I might add Jim and Frozen are Pulaski fans), maybe they are jumping ship for fear of becoming Marooned (sorry I had to). I haven't seen much arrogance out of the real southwest fans other than wiznut and he's just happy to see some success. The old man will teach these guys how win the right way, and how to lose the right way no doubt about that, he has to teach his players and coaches first, then it can spread out. BTW is it Pulaski southwestern or just Southwestern no Pulaski?

I do think you have a good coach and feeder system, but you will have to improve greatly to take Bowling Green's place at the top.
