The state championship rings only go to the winners don't they. I know the 9 teams that we had get to the big dance and lose didn't get anything but that medallion the state gives out.

Yeah. I expect them to be back in Bowling Green.

Middle school? Really? Don't you think that might be grasping at straws to make a point? A middle school championship is irrelevant to what their doing now and I'll give you an example of how irrelevant it is; you want to know another team whose varsity players played in a middle school state championship game? The Cardinals of Martin County AKA Sheldon Clark.

So did Butler Co.

There is no true middle school championship. Not all play in it and if they did I assure you Williamsburg would not win it.

HERRON I hope. I have been pretty close to head coaches, High school and Colleges for the life of me I have never seen A head coach give those responsibilities up to any assistant coach, I have seen them consult with the assistant. but never stand back and watch it. I know that I wouldn't think of giving that up. I have seen defensive cord"s do that on their owne but it was like the off alignment and down and distance determined the defense. there was not really any decision to make.

KILLER IN THE SUN where have you been, Corbin and Williamsburg both won Middle school State championships the same year 2010 when these seniors were in the 8th grade. in the middle size Corbin beat Lexington Catholic in lex Ky all those boys on Corbin's team played in that game and got state championship rings. In the small school Williamsburg beat Fairview all those boys are playing on the Wburg team and yes they got state championship rings. In Lexington Ky. on the same day. I am not sure who played or won the large school. this was A state wide event. they had this for 2 years prior to that year and have had it every year since, This year Corbin is still in it and Williamsburg is to. I think they play next games in LEXINGTON for the state championship. Where are your Middle schools. Again I am not sure about the 5and6 A middle schools. I think you owe those kids an apology. You are an insult I would not post that if it wasn't true it would have been to easy to find out or the team who did win it would have been quick to call me out on it, BY THE WAY THE FINALS WERE TELEVISED STATE WIDE ON IHIGH. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I love how people pick and chose what posts to comment on? Every time somebody throws a wrench into a point you're trying to make you just simply ignore it and hope everyone will forget about it and then spend the next few posts repeating the same thing over and over. So I'll simply keep asking, how do you explain the varsity players at Sheldon Clark winning a state title in middle school and they can't win a game in high school? Middle school is completely irrevelant to what will occur in high school. Its not taking anything away from them, it just doesn't speak towards their preparedness in a high school state title game.

I think his point is that not all teams participate in the middle school tourney for the perceived state championship. It is mostly due to money. I know we at Mayfield only competed once. I wish there was more participation but, I understand the economics of it as well. I don't think anyone is trying to take anything away from it but, it is hard to have a real state championship if only half the teams participate.

No Williamsburg is not holding anything back, You Are not looking at A team that fits A ordinary pattern, you have to understand that we are basically A passing team and we are doing just what we want to do in every game. We do not use our offense enough to work on anything, which could be bad but, that is what you get when you put up A running clock in the last part of the first quarter or the early part of the second. Sure, Jerry could show us large numbers for any back if he wanted to run the first team during the running clock but Jerry is not going to be little and break the spirit of any overmatched bunch of kids. Not only that, but we leave the field early. the game is really short with A running clock and Massey Patrick and the gang standing on the sideline with their gear off. we really don't have to show the fans the things that people look for in A good football team. We don't have time, example I saw where Jefferson Patrick had 477 career tackles, He is playing less than 1 half of A game, How many tackles would he have if he played full games, and besides that he is not making near the tackles he made last year and the other years, why, we have A better team, now our line men and the other linebackers are beating him to them. WE ARE FINE, WITH A MUCH BETTER TEAM THAN WE HAD LAST YEAR.

We may not win another game but, I can tell you we have A much, much better team. I CAN PROVE IT LAST YEAR We HAD the same team, this year they are bigger, I would say each player has gained at least 25 pounds some less some more but on the average. We Lost 1 player DALTON. WE added 1 player Massey. About even. This year we are 1 year older, and we have been there./

Not necessarily. Tougher schedule helped last year. And have no way of knowing if your QB will be as good as your old one when you finally play a good team. And I can promise you getting humiliated in BG won't help one bit when and if the Burg comes to Pikeville.
