Raceland has the most talent & experience right now, therefore they are the better team . Fairview is down right now , & Raceland in all reality is probably 2 to 3 TDs better

Off the top of my head, both Raceland and Fairview has played Lawrence Co. and East Carter. Both blew out East Carter. Fairview lost to Lawrence by touchdown or less, not sure of the margin. Raceland put up a running clock on Lawrence Co.

I think Raceland is about on par with Hazard defensively. Offensively I give the edge to Hazard bc of Jones and we dont really have a premier back. We have more of a work horse stable of 4.6 guys, dont really have a barn burner back. With this said, Raceland's defense, even though its essentially the same skill kids, is very fast. The DBs are like glue and very rarely get burnt and its really hard for teams to complete passes against us. Our LBs are great cover guys as well. As it stands right now our defense has 12 take aways through 6 games. Young has 3 ints one for a td and so does LB Seth Holbrook. We really have a good over all defense and though Ashland and Coal Grove put up 250+ rushing on us, wenevefhad to leave our base defense. We gave up 4 big plays to Ashland and it killed us. If we played the tomcats again at this point, id say we r 2 tds better. Fairview has a high flying offense, man thats weird to say. But they have given up points to decent teams and got throttled by Hazard. I think the Raceland/Fairview score is a bit closer due to the game being at Fairview. I'll say...

Fairview has the ability to play with a lot of teams because of their short passing game. Their putting up over 300+ yards ever game with the passing game. If any team doesn't contain that then they'll be in a close game situation. However, if you take that aspect away from them then there's not a lot for them to turn too. With Raceland having one of if not the best defensive backfield in 1A, I don't see them having any trouble with Fairview.

U fan pretty much take this to the bank, baring injuries:

Raceland, Paintsville, and Fairview will all win in rnd 1. Then Raceland will host rnd 2 against one of the two of them. Then Raceland will travel to Pikeville for the region championship. Disclaimer: neither Raceland or Pikeville has ever won as the visiting team in the series.

Williamsburg and Hazard will steam roll every enroute to yet another championship regional bash. Only way Pikeville isnt at home through out the semis is if they lose. Someone can correct me if I am wrong on ne information, but i feel pretty comfortable that this is how things will shake out. If injuries get ahold of some teams and Fairview, Campbellsville and Paintsville get a few kids back/eligible then they could be spoilers or dark horses. But as it stands right now, Pikeville will host Raceland in region 3
Hazard will Host Williamsburg in region 4.

This is what I anticipate happening and will be shocked if it doesnt.

Clint I know the issues between you and your arch rival lol. But not everyone is taking Potshots at the Eagles. They are far beyond what I expected them to be offensively. Its a hard scheme to grasp, i expected a 5-5 season at best. They have a chance to finish 6-4 or even 7-3. I dont think they will beat Raceland. They have a shot if Raceland overlooks them, but idk if either team will ever do that bc the rivalry is so heated. If they get King eligible they will be more competitive. I think theres a likely chance they finish 2nd in the district and host a playoff game. But not everyone who picks against Fairview is trash talking bud.

I remember fairview played Williamsburg for the middle school state championship at Lexington Catholic they were very good, we beat the brakes off them this is the same team we have now. I wonder after that shake up how many Fairview players played in that game. We are seniors, now.

That being said.....I think this Fairview team has done better than anyone thought they would. The kids that gutted it out and stayed have more balls than the others that scattered to the 4 winds. I have more respect for this team than at anytime since Jennings showed up at Fairview. Fairview should have won the Lawrence game if not for the receiver dropping the shovel pass at the end they would have won.

Fairview is the most aggressive team I've seen this season. Raceland is far more talented but has yet to play with the passion Fairview brings every week, but the talent will be more than the Eagles can overcome. Isn't this game like 2 our 3 weeks away? Alot can happen in that time, if anything happened to keep Messer out of that game for example it would change things alot. But to answer the question of this thread Raceland is the better team and to ask such a question is just someone looking for complements for Raceland or to degrade Fairview and not very classy.

I can confirm at least one . I was present when a certain Wasteland coach personally himself came to MY house when my sister , & Nephew was living with me trying to talk him , & his mother into playing for him at the rock garden ring of death , & did in fact offer certain things to them if he came , & played there . I can take what i know with proof to back it up to KHSAA , but my sister has begged me not to
