Final.
The streak ends.

Hate to see them go down but it seems like even with the loss BG has proven to be the class of Kentucky still. Looking forward to week 10 now.

Dang, Pikeville beats Belfry for the first time since I was 7 (I'm a senior in college), and Bowling Green takes an L for the first time since my senior year of high school.

McCallie scores winning touchdown with 24 seconds left in the game. Bowling Green shot themselves in the foot all game long. They missed an extra point on a bad snap. They had a field goal blocked and returned for a touchdown. On the last drive, one of our defensive backs dropped what should have been an easy interception that would have ended the game. Bowling Green's luck just ran out. McCallie was the best team tonight and deserved to win. McCallie's players, coaches and fans are first class. I think both teams will continue to schedule each other. When you win 48 in a row, how can you complain about a single loss? Purples will back in business next week.

Purples have proven to be a first rate program. McCallie is a huge test for any team.

McCallie was flagged 16 times for 150
Yards. Seriously does Kentucky football need that to beat teams from tn ... Ridiculous

I agree to a point. Tennessee officials often allow a shove here and a bump there. They let them "Jaw" a little more as well. It is football! They just won't put up with it up here in the Bluegrass. I don't have a clue who decides those things. McCallie had four illegal procedure penalties on one play. Also, I noticed more personal fouls for hitting out of bounds. The last thing any Purple fan wants is a bunch of flags thrown against a Tennessee team. It's hard to enjoy the win, even if you deserved it.

Baylorbigdawg is only a private school fan. In other words, hes still pissed that Trinity sucks like we told him and that BG laid a whipping on St X.
He disappeared for 10 months after the privates got beat up last year.

I was hoping bowling green would win. But mccallie is a tough team.

It hasn't been that long since a lot of folks wanted a public/private split. Equality is finally catching up.

That's fair but when you have a game where a team is flagged 16 times for 150 yards... Well coached private school it smells. Word gets around and no one will wish to play bg. Blackman was flagged 12 times for 125 yards last year bg 3 times !! So say what you want - it's home cooking on steroids. Just bad for the game

I have to admit that I like home cooking, even if we didn't order it.

nicker:
You think that's home cooking?
Come to Eastern Kentucky for a few weeks and youll never say another word about Bowling Green. That's amateur status. Wait till you walk on a field where it hasn't rained in 3 weeks and yet the field is nothing but mud, and your team starts out with 3 personal flags on the same possession.

I believe, if the fix was in, Bowling Green would have won the game. These Tennessee teams complain like a bunch of little girls. They blame us for their penalties. Even if we lose, they whine. I haven't heard many McCallie fans complain, but those Blackman fans take the cake. It's been a year since we beat them and they just can't get over it. They were overrated anyway.

Bowling Green was flagged close to 20 times @ Owensboro the week before. That smells like some officials are bad. Some officials make mistakes. Last time I checked BG and Owensboro are both from the same state so why did BG get jobbed?

We don't whine when we lose. It's not Owensboro's fault the officials threw all those flags. I live in the real world and the"fixes" just don't happen as much anymore. Enjoy your win or take the loss like a man. It's the greatest game on earth.

I went to Knoxville Thompson Boling arena and sat amongst the Vols fans and listened to them whine and cry all game long in the game that Jodie Meeks scored 54 points. according to them Kentucky traveled on every single posession :hilarious:

Those Blackman fans were looking forward to playing again but someone chickened out. I guess they didnt want to play a fair game which they knew would be a loss. I think we all know who was overrated now.....but since your blood runs purple you'll never, ever admit it. :lmao:

Bowling Green has some of the most arrogant fans I have come across. Maybe that's what a winning streak does to you but they could very easily end the regular season with two losses ( away @Pulaski) and if that happens can't wait to hear how the refs screwed them over and the excuses to come.

Most teams would take 2 losses every season. We lost to McCallie and could lose to Pulaski County. No shame in losing to either one of them. There won't be any whining from the Purple Faithful. Like I said, enjoy your wins and take losses like a man!

Congrats to Bowling Green on a very impressive run to say the least. Hopefully the BG- Pulaski game in week 10 will be one to remember.

I was at the BG Blackman game. In KY they read a pregame statement about sportsmanship. That is taken very serious in KY. Not sure that statement is read in TN but it should be. Blackman coach is one of the worse it not the worse coach with regards to sportsmanship I've ever seen in my life. I believe I heard character reflects leadership and Blackman players are a direct reflection of their coach.
