I think SC is better then the start of the season, but I would not want to play Belfry this week after friday night.

After Haywood has his way with them this week, they should be prepared to play the Seahawks. I am still full of crow from last weeks debacle, my prediction will be modest.

Sheldon Clark could be in for a long, long night. It will not be a good week to be a Belfry Pirate. Haywood will be all over the Pirates after last weeks loss. That however isn't going to be the only motivation. These boys are going to spend a week hearing about how they lost to Pikeville for the first time in 14 years, they are going to hear it from classmates, fans, coaches, each other. They will be hungry and they will have something to prove.
Belfry - 42
SC - 13
Both teams put points up in garbage time.

I think Belfry comes out mad and puts the game away very early, then gets the two young guys (freshmen I think) who looked good with just a couple of carries against Pikeville some work, and works a little on a few pass plays as well.

haha Belfry fans won't be able to say the first part without throwing the second part out there. I doubt Haywood is mentioning the second part when he his reminding his team about the first part all week.

Yep, I doubt the word streak has ever come out of Haywoods mouth. But fans, classmates and possibly several assistants (who have wins over Pikeville during that streak) will be sure they are aware of it.

No doubt. They will be sure everyone is aware of it, even when mentioning this year's score. That was my point.

If this is even remotely on his mind I think it needs to be done now. That gives them 2 games to get adjusted to it against weaker competition.

I guess the question is what do you do when Catron gets back?
Catron appears to be the solution Belfry needs: tough runner, loves contact, speed for the big play... but you don't get him back until Lawrence County (best case scenario).
These next 3 games are nothing but for pride. Belfry should completely out man Sheldon Clark and Gallia... CAK you would like to see where your entire team stands...but that game means nothing.
Do you move Corbett to QB and Taylor to HB for those games then have t split carries once Catron returns?
Do you leave Taylor at QB knowing when Catron gets back you are at your best when he has the ball in his hands every play?
Do you move Corbett to QB and Taylor back to SE so they can find timing and you gain back one of the best WR's in EKY in hopes of having a bit of a passing threat?
Tough call all the way around.
I think I am of the school of thought that it's either Taylor at QB or Taylor at SE.. not Taylor at HB. Truth be told I lean toward moving him to SE so you now maximize your weapons on the field.
Playing armchair QB and of course I wont even pretend like I know best but what I would LOOOOOOVEEE to see is Haywood bring back the Wildcat package like he used with Thomas Varney.
I love the idea of keeping the same personnel on the field but being able to break the huddle and surprise an opposing defense when Corbett lines up at QB.
Imagine Hatfield at the TE/H-Back on the right side. To the right side you have Catron at an End and Willis in the slot. On the left Taylor lines up at the other end and comes in motion.
-You now have the jet sweep with Taylor at full speed with Catorn and Willis able to block the CB's.
-You have Corbett on the power dive with Hatfield lead blocking.
-You have Corbett on the counter with Hatfield pulling.
- You have the option to not even do the wildcat at all, but Corbett can pass out of the gun w/ Taylor drawing single coverage.
- You have the option to not do the Wildcat but to let Catron/Willis/Taylor clear out with Deep Fly Patterns and set up a screen to Hatfield.
From all indications Corbett's biggest issue is his ball handling skills making reads...he has also struggled with pulling out too soon on the snap and fumbling. With the Wildcat he takes the shotgun snap. On the Sweep he only has one read to make and ball handle. If it is a pass it will be a called play so no read is necessary.

I guess Haywood has been to the Woodshed. He will be back better than ever.

Looks like a lot of people are trying to invent the wheel. IMO we don't need to reinvent the wheel. A flat spot on a wheel can keep it from rolling. We just need to keep the wheel rolling and just get back on track . I'm a firm believer that when to good teams meet they both need to play their A game and no flat spots.
