Pikeville 29 Belfry 20
#31
I predicted a blowout, I just predicted the wrong team. Congrats to the Pikeville Panthers, they totally whipped Belfry's a$$ upfront. When Belfry throws the ball on a 2 point conversion it tells me Haywood has no faith in that dominate o line and bruising fullback. The Pikeville coaching staff had a great gameplan and stuck to it all night long. This game film will be a blueprint on how to weaken the Belfry Defense and how to completely shut down the High powered game ground.

Personally I think Belfry came out flat and with the big head, Pikeville came out of the locker room jacked and punched Belfry right in the mouth. Once Belfry got down then on defense couldn't get a true stop it was over from there.

Rivalry renewed..Im here to tell everyone in class A beware this Pikeville team is for real. This is exactly why they play Belfry every year, so they can see what they need to work on and even more so now they believe they can play with any team in the state. They have some very good skilled athletes, and are very well coached.

As for Belfry, they just need to get back to work and not let this game linger in there minds. I don't believe there as good as advertised, I do believe there a very good football team but there a lot of holes that need to be filled form last years team especially in the back field and it showed tonight. Just goes to show ya if you come out flat and not ready to play any given Friday night you can come away with a lost.

If there's any negative to be found, leave it to you. you just can't give credit where it's due,

This will be great for Belfry once the shock wears off. They need to learn from this, and know that on any given night, anyone can win a football game.

This can do nothing but improve them on their journey.

Prayers for any injuries!!

:lmao: Pikeville?

Pikeville?

Seriously, Pikeville?!?!!!!!

Maybe Pikeville employed the WideRight05 strategy and wore Central jerseys. Confusednicker:

Congrats to the Pikeville Panthers. I will take my crow with a side order of fries. Pikeville was ready to play and Belfry was not. No Excuses, they were better tonight and deserved to win. Belfry will bounce back.

HEY POND CREEK NATION!!!! GO MAKE US A SANDWICH!!! Sorry, been waiting 15 years for that. In all honesty Belfry is a dang good football team as always. But those Pirates ran up against a bunch of hungry Panthers who just would not quit! Kudos to Coach Mac and his staff for an absolute masterpiece of a gameplan, those players in Maroon who played an outstanding game, The Panther fans for showing up in full force! To the folks who talk about ending this rivalry......SHUT UP!!! HAIL PIKEVILLE!!!

A wise man I know once told me about the concept of the "Loser's Limp", watching kids who aren't actually too injured to play limp off the field and not come back when on the losing end. I really can't imagine Belfry kids doing that, especially in a game that was still technically winnable (although listening to a lot of the second half, I got the feeling that 8 point lead seemed a lot bigger than it really was). But I think I get what you mean. Mental toughness and physical toughness are two very different things. I've always seen Belfry teams as being quite mentally tough. And I'm sure the winningest coach in Kentucky history will have a way of figuring who his mentally tough players are by playoff time. Honestly, if you want to repeat as 3A champs, sometimes a wake-up call doesn't hurt when some people out there might think you're cake-walking to another title. They can take this one to bed, let it hurt for a few days, think about what they can do to get better, and come back with new fire in their bellies. Respect to both teams.

this Pikeville team just won't quit. The thing that's scary is, they still have a few players out that didn't play, and has not played up to this point. A total team effort tonight. Daric Pugh was there at every time the team needed him. Cody Estep did an outstanding job on defense. He loves to hit. Ben Maynard, Caleb Skeens, and Blake Charles, as well as Clay Slone, and certainly not to forget the line. Wow! Opening holes all through the game. The qb Austin Charles, I think he was 100% on all completions in the first half. Don't want to overlook anyone. So proud of this team! Want to wish Belfry the best of luck the rest of the way. Hope both teams make it to BG. Support each other.

First of all. Hats off to you Pikeville. HECK OF A GAME. Really didn't expect this but it looked as if the pirates needed this beat down. Belfry game out flat as a 2x6 and never really seemed to get their feet under neath them. On any other night this game could have went in the other direction but tonight is Pikevilles night. 1a watch out. Pikeville is better than advertised. It will come down to them and Williamsburg for the trip to BG. BELFRY will regroup and be ready no worries there. And I also want to apologize for some of our fans. Yeah some penalties IMO were unnecessary and one even cost the Pirates a TD but GEEZ some of our own fans acted so obnoxious. And I am sorry if they acted in any such way toward any pikeville fan. Congrats Pikeville. 1 out of 14 isn't bad. Belfry, on to the next.

I tried to tell you Belfry fans all week that the Panthers were going to spank that ass and you all laughed at me.
