Hopefully a statement game. Turning the corner maybe?
#5
I'm not sure if this is a sign of UK getting better or Florida continuing to get worse. Hopefully the former.
#6
Florida was too physical up front. Matt Jones just ran wide open and the UK DL/LB's couldn't fill the gaps. Even with that said, delay of game.

KENTUCKY FOOTBALL in a nutshell!!!!!

This was a sign of UK getting better, and the beginning of the end for Muschamp. UK played with an attitude of a top 25 team. Muschamp doesn't get the best out of his players

Let me further comment on the delay of game issue in OT1.

Regardless of whether or not the penalty was called, there was still going to be a 4th down play. The fact is the Kentucky DB dropped the ball on the coverage and got beat. He plays his position, which looked like they were playing a Cov2, Kentucky stops Florida and wins the game. He didn't. He was worried about the play clock and got beat.

Still proud of the way UK played tonight. Sign of good things to come.

heck of a game. Just couldn't get the ball to bounce our way tonight. Kentucky Football is finally fun to watch again.

UK got robbed.

I wont name any names but............"caugh" Spirit100 "caugh" Jarons "caugh" RunItUpTheGut "caugh" Fromthebleachers! I think this Kentucky team will win a few this year and I can see a bowl game and if we do get that good of a season then look out because that will open up even more doors for recruiting. If five star players will come here for basketball then they will for football also if they see that the program is serious about building a top SEC team! You can laugh all you want but if Kentucky get's a winning season and a bowl this year the SEC caliber talent will start to come and I could see Kentucky good enough to win the SEC within about 3 short seasons! This young team will get better as the year goes, but look out next season.

Very proud of UK last night. Hope this was not a fluke.

Great to see Towells perform under pressure well. Great game. Hard to win in the swamp when you have to beat the officials too. Bad calls at crucial times in the game.

I loved this game. Got so wound up I couldn't sleep!!! I think this game sort of defines this team this year, and I really don't think we lost. Oh, yeah there's the score thing, but look at the calls that directly impacted the final score. There was a LOT of controversy in those calls, IMO. One of the biggest...why isn't the play clock reviewable??? I mean the "officials" of the game have it almost to where you must wave at the QB before tackling, or you are roughing the passer. The game of football has been changed so much in recent history, that is barely resembles the game of ten years ago. I know that some of these changes are to prevent injuries, and I'm all for that. BUT if you can review where a part of somebody's foot initially hits the ground,, why can't you review other things that would make a difference in WHO wins the game? Incredible!!

So UK plays Florida to three OTs in the SWAMP!!!

Coming form last year's team to this......IMO Stoops is impressingly moving this team forward. And I do love his passion on the sidelines.

The way the defense played in the first half was just impressive, especially on the road at a place like The Swamp. We just need a bit more depth so those guys won't get wore down as the game goes along, in particular against good teams like Florida. It is an exciting time for UK football and Stoops and his staff has really brought this team around in a short period of time, cannot wait to see what they look like after a couple more recruiting classes like this year and next year's.

Still gonna say that when Stoops leaves in 2 years?

Where is he going??

I wish Baker could have held into that ball in the end zone on 3rd down before the missed field goal.

Great effort though.

It was cover 0.

The game wouldn't have been over at 0 play clock, in OT?

The play clock was at zero- not the game clock. In overtime, the game clock doesn't run.

First, if you're going to call me out, at least spell everything correctly (JK). Second, because UK took a bad Florida team to 3 ot's does not mean that they will win a few games besides direction university. I still think UK will win 1 conference game at best. UK played the game of their life while catching a bad Florida team on an off night. It happens once in a while.
As far as Stoops being a good coach, the jury is still out. He has only been a head coach for 15 games. If he is a great as everyone hopes that he is, including me, he will be gone within 3 years to better football program.

Hey now, ive been riding Stoops' nutsack for weeks now.
Ive been very impressed. The day he listened to me and started Towles, we started getting along. Were still in disagreement on whether or not Max Smith should be kicked off the team, but he said hed feel bad for doing it.

KY had there chances, but look at it this way...at least they had a chance. Very positive things.

The dawn of the new era of UK football..
One more class, and it will be somethingcrazy special at UK.
Could be this year, depending on how some close games end.

Thats just it! If he builds Kentucky into a top SEC team where is he going to go? He is already in the best conference in the land. If Kentucky turns into a top NCAA football team I think we know from how crazy the Big Blue Nation is with the basketball team that we will fill the stands every year. I think he stays! Now if he builds it up and does decide to go in 3 to 5 years all the top coaches will give Kentucky a look now after they see the pasion of the fans and the willingness of the higher ups to pay the coach and improve the facilities.

I'm cautiously optimistic...this game is a step in the right direction. It's still a loss! And until they prove otherwise I'm sticking to my 4-5 win season prediction. Will be happy to eat crow and buy Towles a steak dinner if they become bowl eligible this year.

I know that. But, in OT on 4th down, if the play clock goes to zero, does the game end, if both teams have had a possession?

Edit: After searching, it looks like FL would have had one more play, with a 4th and 12.
