Raceland vs Coal Grove-Dawson Bryant 9/19
#1
Raceland will host Coal Grove-Dawson Bryant Friday. Last year's game at Coal Grove was extremely physical, one of the more physical teams Raceland has played in recent years. Coal Grove returns alot of players from last year and are very big and tough upfront. Raceland is a bit dinged up right now with with Messer and Dixon both having ankle issues if I am not mistaken, but stillhave alot of speed and skill to go around. Raceland's OL/DL however, has their work cut out for them. This game will go along way in determining our toughness and how strong our defense really is against the run. Going to be a tough game. Raceland has got to learn to execute in the 3rd quarter, in all 4 games we have been very low key after half time, I think Salmons will right the ship in that regaurd, have yet to see the Rams that played in Putnam Stadium week 2. Need to play our game and not let the opponents record or abilities dictate our intensity, go out and TCB. I like Raceland at home by 2 tds.

If we play like we have the last few weeks, I wont be suprised if its worse than that T-Cats. If we play like we did at Ashland, we should win comfortably. We HAVE to stop playing to our opponent.

This is gonna be a tough one. Coal Grove really punched Raceland in the mouth last year. The defense played good against Greenup, but the offense really sputtered. I like to think part of the sputtering is due to youth, inexperience and being sucked in to playing down to your opponents level. I really wanna think that things will start to click a little better this week, if so, Raceland wins a close one.

CG plays soft in the corners. Not much speed/height in the secondary so we hold an advantage there. Idk if we can run on them though. They seem a little slow on the DL but they are large and seem to control their gaps pretty well. Bailey Walker is who I am looking to having another breakout game. Their power run game may give us fits as well. It will all boil down to game speed. If they can keep our offense off the field and control the clock, it may be a long night. We MUST play tough upfront and not let idiotic retaliation penalties bite us in the ass like they nearly did last year.

I don't think the Rams are ready for this one.I think at this point they would get more from a tuff lose than a win. They have played such bad teams that I think the have started some bad habits that need to be broken.I don't know anything about CG other then I know they will be ready to play.I think the Rams take one on the chin and then start getting better from this point on.

I have to agree. I feel like we may be walking into the same situation we did last year against Lawrence. Though we have dominated 3 out of 4 opponents, it sure doesnt feel like it and we sure dont look like it in the. 2nd half. Emotionally Flat, poor execution offensively, defensively we have stayed relatively solid.
