I heard the status on Blanton is still not certain but hope he will be able to play because he will make the team better. But I expect the bulldogs to recover with a 32 to 21 win over the cougars.

This is a perfect example of why people have no faith in the KHSAA. If a coach is thrown out of a game, the KHSAA should stand behind their officials, and carry out the penalty of a two game suspension. If the game tape didn't have audio, how can they determine what was said to the officals by Coach Dixon. I don't have a dog in this fight, but over the years, it seems to me that Hazard always comes out "smelling like a rose" when it comes to the KHSAA. I look for Coach Holcomb and the Cougars to win this game 28-21. Good luck Coach!!!

This is the deal on the ejection on Dixon.
He was wrongfully ejected by the officials. Dixon was flagged because he was out of the coach box and the sideline official ran into him on the kick-off which is a penalty, but it is not an unsportmanslike penalty. Later the same official flagged him for unsportmanlike conduct for continuing to complain about the previous play. Simply said the rules were misapplied by the officials.
The assigning secretary, who by the way, is from Pikeville caught the error immediately after the game. No film was sent to KHSAA that I am aware of, but there was a teleconference with Commissioner Tackett. All is resolved and it is over.
Nobody received any special treatment. The officials made an error and it was corrected. Hope this ends some of the speculation.
