To me this looked like to very evenly match team going up against each other and by the end of the day that's what it was.
On the games first play from scrimmage Jordan Smith would throw deep in hopes of getting things started with a bang for his team, but the pass was under thrown allowing Nick Anderson to easily pick it off for Bellevue.
The Finneytown defense would hold its foe to just nine yards as they were up to the task of stopping the running game Bellevue tried to unleash.
The Wildcats needed just three plays to go forty two yards for the games first score. The scoring play was a Smith pass to Bryce Butler for twenty four yards. The point after kick failed because of a Mike Whitt fumble on the snap. With 8:41 left in the first the score was, 6-0 Wildcats.
Bellevue showed a little life at the 7:50 mark of the quarter when,Tucker Thomas picked up thirteen yards on a run up the gut.
A little over a minute later Tate Granger would be stopped for a two yard loss, killing any life the drive might have had.
Smith would over throw his receiver with six minutes left in the opening quarter and this would cost him his 2nd pick of the afternoon. Making the pick was Nate Amzen for the Tigers.
On fourth and three, with 3:07 showing on the clock the Tigers picked up the first down when Tucker Thomas picked up four yards.
The game would be locked up at six at the 1:56 mark of the quarter when, Alec Hazeres plunged in from two yards out. The two point conversion run was stuffed leaving the score locked at six. The drive took nine plays and totaled seventy three yards.
The Tigers would get the last big play of the quarter when,Hazeres got Smith for a four yard loss. Smith had muffed the snap causing the play to end before it begun.
Just :44 into the second quarter Thomas would be sacked by the Finneytown linebacker, Demaarco Flowers for a seven yard loss.
Finneytown had enough speed to make the defense nervous every time they got outside or went for a deep pass. Maybe the quickest guy on the Finneytown team was Deante Goodwin, a 5-7 158 running back. With 8:58 Goodwin would show how dangerous he is, when he took a screen pass sixty yards for a score . The point after was blocked by Alec Hazeres, keeping the score, 12-6 Finneytown. The drive lasted for three plays and totaled sixty one yards.
Amzen would take the ensuing kickoff eight two yards all the way down to the Finneytown thirteen yard line. The sensational return would go for not because seven seconds later Tate Granger would cough the ball up and making the recovery for the Ohio team was Jordon Girdler, at least he was the player given credit for it.
Their were two more significant plays in the half. The first occurred with 6:36 left in the half. Tyler Noonchester, a 6-1 180 pound lineman for Bellevue tipped a pass to save a completion by Finneytown and then with Smith would fumble the ball and making the recovery for the Tigers was, Cameron Fulmer. The time left in the half after this was only :54.
In the opening half both teams seemed to play very hard and though some will say what we seen was two bad football teams, but in my eyes it was two teams with low numbers playing their rear ends off in the heat, with many of these young men playing both ways.
Bellevue had thrown only one pass in the opening half and they had completed it. In the 2nd half they came out a new team throwing the ball all over the field.
With 10:42 left in the third Tate Grainger connected with #20, who was not on the roster for a twenty four yard gain. Then with 9:59 left in the period Grainger hit Amzen for a 23-yard touchdown. Granger would connect with Hazeres for the two point conversion to give the Tigers the, 14-12 lead. This drive had taken seven plays and went for seventy two yards.
The Wildcats offense got a nice little completion from Smith to Goodwin, who was smashed by Fulmer. Fulmer was having himself a nice little game at this point. The kid plays hard on every play almost trying to be like two players out there to help with the small numbers his team has.
It was the Wildcats defense time to shine with 8:18 showing on the clock, when Kyare Neal got to Grainger for a four yard sack.
6:32 was left in the hard hitting third quarter when it was Hazeres took his turn in the sack party by getting to Smith for a nine yard loss.
Bellevue would get another big play by its defense with 6:32 left in the third, This time it was Nate Amzen picking off a very ugly pass by Smith.
The Bellevue offense though gave the ball right back to the Wildcats when, Grainger was picked off by Byron Famble, who read the play just like Deon Sanders would have.
Tigers defense was called for roughing the passer with 3:59 showing on the clock giving Finneytown a much needed first down.
Smith on what looked like sometime of option play was thrown down for a six yard loss, with 3:15 left in the third.
The refs had what most of the fans would call a terrible game and with 2:39 left this showed in large way. Watson picked off a Grainger pass and just has he had broke loose for what was going to be a long return, a faint whistle was heard and right away you could see the ref knew he had made a huge blunder. The play was ruled dead at the point of the pick.
With Smith out of the game with an injury the Wildcats moved Goodwin to the quarterback slot and with :43 left in the period his pass would be batted away by, Amzen. Amzen also had a nice game for the Tigers.
The quarter ended with a Blake Stephenson fumble the Tiger teammate Grainger was able to recover only after an eleven yard loss.
Only six seconds left in the final frame and the Finneytown defense came up huge when, Delshawn Watson was able to pick off a Grainger pass.
Watson almost had a big, big gain with 11:46 left in the game but a holding call on the Wildcats ended that.
With Smith back in the game the Wildcats passing game showed up huge at the 10:30 mark of the fourth. The play was a 41- yard long bomb thrown to Bryce Butler giving the Ohio squad first and ten at the Bellevue eight.
Smith would spring to a seven yard gain with 10:30 left on the final quarter clock and then ten seconds later the drive came to and end. The final play of the six play thirty four yard drive was a one yard plunge into the end zone by Smith. Smith would convert the two point conversion with a pass to Butler.

After getting the ball back by shutting down the Tigers offense it looked like Uncle Mo was going to stay on the Wildcats side, but that change with 7:27 left. Smith would turn the ball over again this time on a fumble, that Hazeres pounced on, like a fatman on a double cheeseburger.
Twelve seconds after the fumble recovery the Tigers got a 22 yard pass play from Grainger to Zach Barrett.
Bellevue got a break when Turner Alston picked off a Grainger pass, but Alston was called for interference on the play,with 6:48 remaining in the contest.
The Tigers sould show that never give up attitude they had displayed all game long at the 6:13 mark of the final frame when, Grainger capped off a 6 play 44 yard drive with a short scoring run. The point after conversion pass was picked off by Watson, keeping the score locked at 20.
I mentioned earlier that Finneytown had enough speed to keep you nervous if you were a Tiger or Tiger fan and on the ensuing kickoff that point was drive home as hard as a hammer hitting a nail Goodwin would get outside and take it to the house for the winning score. Stephen Schmuck would hit the point after kick making this a, 27-20 game, with 5:15 left.
The Tigers last breath came and went when Amzen made a nice catch and run with 3:10 left but he put the ball on the ground during the run and making the recovery for the Wildcats was Turner Alston.
Bellevue did get the ball back once more but a Finneytown sack at the 2:14 marked made it more unlikely a comeback was in store. The final nail in the coffin came with :57 left, when Byron Famble stopped Grainger on fourth and one by throwing him back for a short loss.
