Lawrence Co. @ Fairview 9/5

Who you got and why?

Last year Fairview was coming off the best season in school history and Lawrence was very young and inexperienced. Fairview won the game last year and that game was a tale of two Bulldog teams but we had our chances to win that game. I think this year is very different and the Dawg's are very experienced, talented and fast so I like our chances.

While i am a die hard Eagle , i'll have to say this one belongs to LC by 3 tds . My Eagles have got some promise , but have too many young , & inexperienced players

Sorry but I couldn't find a Fairview helmet.

Well, I'm a big fan of Coach Cecil and the Dawgs. I think they take this one. Go Dawgs!
#7
Eagles had a solid passing attack. Lets see if they have those big numbers again.

Scotty you guys had a good game against Ashland again this year and I expect the Lawrence-v-Raceland game to be a good one again also. I didn't get to go last year but this one is in our house so I will get to see the Rams play.

Should be a dandy when the dawgs and rams meet. I look for the dogs to take advantage of Fairview's weakness in the middle of the defense and have a big game.

Close enough . Only thing missing is a Red F

Fairview had a great showing in their first week, but it was against East Carter. On the other hand, you have Lawrence County, they've played Boyd County and Rowan County and both of those teams play at a subpar level. In my opinion, this week will be a measuring stick game for both teams. I think Lawrence will win this one, by at least two touchdowns.

Lawrence County - 34

Fairview - 26

Lc has proven that their offense can score quickly using 6 or 7 different players and both running and passing. Fairview put up a lot of offense against East Carter. However they allowed 29 points by the EC offense which were not all 4th quarter points. I think this game comes down to the best defense. LC has the edge here. The LC safety's and corners will shut down the airview passing game. This should be a close game. Give Fairview 2 TD's for home opener, 2 TD's for offense. Give LC 4 TD's for offense and 2 TD's on defense.

1st team D only gave up 7 points. FHS fumbled the opening kickoff , & set EC up 1st , & goal from the 1 yard line which they scored . Then EC ran a kickoff back making it 42-14 at the half . FHS played 2nd , & 3rd team D the entire 2nd half . Coach Ray kept 1st team O in until the 4th but ran very very conservatively . Now with that said FHS is just too young , & inexperienced for LC this time .

I hope Fairview does pass a lot so we can see how the pass defense responds. Both Boyd and Rowan wanted to but they just didn't have the receivers to do it. We have some pretty good athlete's in the defensive backfield. We picked Boyd off like 4 times. Playing some passing teams will get us ready for teams like Pike Central who love to pass early and often.

Airview had over 300 yards passing and 3 TD's by pass against a very weak East Carter defense. Also the QB scored three rushing TD's. Looks like the QB IS the offense for the Eagles. Look for blitzing LB's from LC. LC will check Eagle WR's at line to disrupt timing plays. Defensive line will see more of Johnson and Ross for LC. LC's speedy corners think every pass is theirs. When Dalton is on the field on defense he is like Deion Sanders in that he can cover both sides of the field with his speed. So far this season LC has not put their very best defense on the field because they have not had to. While the LC defense has given up rushing yards they have been very tough to deal with on the passing game. LC has the capability to put some very experienced defenders on the field if needed.

I don't know much about Fairview this year. Sounds like they've recovered from the onslaught some. It should be a descent opponent for LC. I'm curious to see how the LC defense matches up with a team capable of putting some points on the board. Good luck Bulldogs

I would say that the Fairview QB will get to meet #9 from the Bulldogs!

I agree. This will be a good test for the Bulldog defense. I think our varsity defense got better in week two. East Carter is not a good team but Raceland and Fairview both blew em out with about the same score. The same Raceland team that just gave a very good Ashland team all they wanted. I think the Bulldog offense will be way to much for Fairview but I think our defense needs this to get better.
#28
It'll be a test of the defense, but I don't think it will be a contest by the end of the game.

LC 42
FV 21

Good luck to both teams; no injuries!!
