Officials in the 15th, PLEASE READ!
#1
I just think it is unbelievable how bad the refs are getting in the 15th. I havent seen a good called game all year. Is it just me, I think they should let kids play, instead of calling the game based on what the fans or coaches are yelling. I hope this changes before the region tourney.:ref2:
#2
Im pretty sure that region games are reffed by other region refs..,not to sure though
#3
well if u want to see some bad refs come to pikeville and watch weston robinson rag on the refs. its the funniest thing i have ever seen, but can u blame him.
#4
I hope they are not that bad because I think they 13th gets them this year.
#5
oh there pretty bad, its just not that their bad its usually there for one team or something.
#6
Well has far as the regional tournaments go, I liked it when they were swithching regions and letting the 15th call the 14th and so forth and so on. You cant do that anymore because who ever gets the 15th officials would be screwed!
#7
The 15th is getting terrable!
#8
It has been pretty bad this year but we just have to roll with the punches. Nothing anyone can do will change it. Ancy Casey I know assigns the refs to the 59th District games and if he actually made it out and watched some of the games then I bet some of the fellas wouldn't be getting paid.
#9
all refs in the 15th hate sf thats all i have to say
#10
Sammy isn't that bad of an official out of the 15th!!!

i would have to agree with you tribe Ancy assigns for the whole region and we will be getting 14 region refs this year which goes back to a post i made on another similar thread. How come they do this is it to reduce people saying they are bias if they cant be bias in the regional tourney what to say they are not in the regular season i think this is the worst refs i have ever seen on both sides of a game they are inconsistent make calls out of position, dont make calls they are in the position to make i could go on an on on the subject something needs to be done a grading system have them anylized at games or something
#12
Trust me...it could be worse!!! We don't have the worst officials, trust me!!!

I knew he was over officials but I didn't know if he was over my district or the whole region. The refs are very inconsistent this year and they seem to let the game get to rough. It's not football, some seem to forget that. Honestly, I walked away from a game not too long ago saying "Man, if I had a sayso, THAT one wouldn't be getting paid for this shit." It was awful.

I thought that Jerry Hurley was the assigning secretary for the 15th region????
Didn't Ancey step down a few years ago, and Hurley took over and we lost probably our best official in Dale Conn??

You are correct again, sir.

This thread shows just how little fams know. Ancie Casey has not had anything to do with the refs for the last three years. Its not even worth my time to say anymore.
#17
Ancie Casey does not assign officials...Jerry Hurley does now.

He's one of the worst in the 15, I can't understand how this man can walk around in public!

This thread is close to being closed...let's stop naming names and getting personal.

Yeah they 15th is horrible this year!
#22
I've seen 1 good ref this year! At the Law co. vs Tolsia game and that is all this year>>>>>>>>
#23
I seen a ref make a call and a certain head coach throw a hell of fit and the ref reversed the call. Heard fans from that team talking they couldn't believe it either...said it was embarassing
#24
The refs are really bad this year for what ever reason.

I have to disagree with nearly everyone on this thread. I agree there are some poor officials in the 15th. Every region has some poor officials. Afterall it's high school, not NCAA Division I or the NBA.

But there are some very good officials in the 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th regions. In fact, most games I watch are well officiated.

When I see the crowd complain, it's usually on a close play that could go either way. Yes, I know some calls are simply blown. But those are rare. Usually the crowd is upset because the want a particular outcome from a play. They're not necessarily interested in the right call, they want a favorable call. There's a huge difference. When they don't get a favorable call, they convince themselves the officials are horrible.

Try this as a test. Go watch a game in which you don't care one way or another who wins. Watch the crowd react to the officials. Sure, there are going to be some bad calls. But see if you don't agree with me that most of the time the refs are doing a fine job. Yet the crowd will be screaming bloody murder!

I'm telling you, the refs are not as bad as posters on this and other discussion boards say they are.

Take another challenge. Read the rule book and see how many rules are different from what you had assumed they were.

If you're really brave, go and ref some pee wee, grade school or middle school games. You don't have to be llicensed by the state to do those games, although smart schools will require certification anyway. See for yourself how easy it is to call a game. See for yourself what it's like to make what you think is the right call and have the crowd all over you like you are a total idiot.

I don't think 10% of the people complaining about the refs could survive calling even a pee wee game. So with all due respect, I think we ought to honor those who are doing the dirty work of officiating high school games rather than treating them like so much dung!

He is an absolute joke. He still calls like he is reffing girls games or JV games. He is one referee that I dread seeing when I go to a game.
#27
We have good and bad refs in the 15th region. I do think they are favortism that goes on in our region. Ask yourself this. When was the last time a team from the 57th or 58th gone to the state.
#28
The biggest problem I have with the officials in the 15th is that they spend to much time explaining to the coaches. They are going to make mistakes, that's human nature. But if I am not mistaken, they are trained to call games with blinders on. Meaning watch what goes on between the lines not the antics that the coaches and fans are doing.:ref2:
