BREAKING: Cordia Receives Sanctions Program Suspended
ky playmaker Wrote:Its just wrong! I stated in another thread that the refs would not allow cordia to win and they wont. This is still a very proud region very proud people wont happen not in ky period. other teams do some of what cordia did but geez not near the extent and the rest dang sure dont rub khsaa nose in it. just stupid way cordia went about it all

It is not just stupid, it is wrong! They knowingly broke 14 different rules and some of them many times!!!
Huggy_Bear Wrote:Haha You Cordia folks and the outsiders that became fans with Rhodes there are all sheep. This surprises nobody but you guys. Congrats.

Not a big HS basketball follower so knew nothing about cordia until this news of suspension. I went back and read the thread about players from cordia waiting for offers and knowing this knew info found it very funny and sad. Huggy you were ripped into by MissB, Crossover, and Topknotch and now they are no were to be found! I would love to hear from topnotch after he so whole heartedly defended the goings on there. Huggy, have you heard from these guys, or are the just running and hiding?

It was all just a matter of time before the hammer was laid to them.

You guys were strongly denying any wrong doing at the school and some were pretty nasty about it. Now that the facts are coming out and wrong doing is being proven. I was curious what your and the others take is on it. Are you/they able to admit they were wrong? I have seen some people on another site try to say they should not be punished and are still supporting what went on at the school, do you guys still feel that way? Many saw this from afar and you were close to the program and did not see any of this or suspect any thing wrong going on? You and the others were so vocal about you opinions before the sanctions and now the others are no were to be found and we have heard little from you. Just would like to hear your feelings about it now.
People on Lotts Creek still believe they will get through this just like they got through the KHSAA declaring all of their players ineligible twice.

Rod is already looking for his escape route.

Unfortunately, for him, the weight of what went down at Cordia has significantly affected his search.
^ and I'm glad of it too.
Like myself, I loved that a small school like this was getting so much attention.
Even though Rhodes couldn't coach for shit, they did beat Perry which I thought was a big accomplishment. I backed Rhodes from day one.
But after all the bullcrap he's pulled, I hope he goes somewhere else.
The whole body of Cordia is believing in Rhodes right now. They have no clue.
He's a joke.
There's way worse going on in Lotts Creek than these violations.

On the subject of finding another coach, well they have plenty of time to think about it.
^^you're right, beating PCC was a big win...pretty sure it was the 2nd time Cordia has beat PCC in the existence of Perry Central. 1st coming in under Jeff Honeycutt...it's going to be hard but I hope my school can bounce back from this
Knott Perry Hazard have been recruiting harder than any SEC school the past 3 or 4 years I understand that. I think this year there will be a low in it due to the recent allagations at Cordia. The thing is haw fast a small school that has not been very stong become a powerhouse in months is a big sign to the KHSAA that something is going on aka Rose Hill, Cordia and Fairview all small independent schools. I know the state is investating other programs in the 14th what will happen ???? out there.

Not hiding at all! Just over this whole mess!
MissB Wrote:Not hiding at all! Just over this whole mess!

Had a lot to say before a KHSAA came down on the school. Now it is easy to "be done with this mess" when you got out of it what you wanted, it is not going to affect you anymore, and when you can not deny they illegal activity that you were involved in and benefited from. You were very nasty and hard on many in denying any wrong doing, yet now you have nothing to say! Great values you are teaching your child!
Guys no matter what the young men and basketball is all that matters. Kudos to the KHSAA for allowing these young men to go elsewhere and play without penalties. Not to be biased but any of those young men are welcome at LCC with open arms.

My Priorities are:
1)God
2)Family
3)Cougar Athletics!

Everything else doesn't matter![/COLOR]

Can nit blame kids at all, it is the adults you have to blame. Unfortunately the kids will be the ones to suffer from the sanctions
Just heard thru the grapevine lol! That area coaches had to pick a number to make in home visits to talk with Austin Combs in the spring, now that not recruiting just showing some love lol!!
Austin at Knott.
Ruled eligible in June without a change in Residence and before the suspension was issued to Cordia. On what grounds was he ruled eligible ??

Dig a little deeper on change of residence!

I was asked for this response remember that in reading:
First, I feel that the school could benefit from an athletic director to help guide the program. Cordia is a small and let me add very small school and the system is not set up to benefit the small school. SO MY STRONG OPINION IS THIS IS A SYSTEM PROBLEM NOT A SCHOOL PROBLEM.... Secondly, this would be fair had the rulings been made across the board but to be made against one school who admitted African American (Black) kids and won games is suspect. It is my opinion that Cordia was doomed because they fault back for the sake of the kids. The one situation I questioned was cleared immediately and it was an obvious sports move but it was not recruitment. No I don't feel Cordia was wrong, It amazes me that no one else feels this looks bad when recruitment is going on across the state.

No, I didn't benefits anymore that any other student at any other school. My son came with a good GPA (grade point average) and left with one..... Actually I feel more (alot) more could and should have been done to help these kids and their college recruitment. I made those call not the coach or the school so their were no benefits there (that was a coaching staff issue not just one). I am not sure what is meant by the benefits???....
My child was cleared from the initial request without questions so no problem there...... For a system to say a move with a father is not a move is wrong period.... and adds to the demise of the family (black family) .....
I question if that ruling has been made against any other students who moved with a father????... We can play dumb and act like Cordia was the first school to recruit but we all would be wrong. OH,,,,,, BUT they recruited more? better? fault back? Questioned the ruling? This ruling started years before and the big dog must show who is in Charge. But remember Sin is Sin.... no levels you are wrong or right!!!..... the governing bodies must treat all sins equal...... wrong is wrong..... You can't ignore other programs and put all in on one.

NO I don't think Cordia is wrong, I think the system is wrong and the Corrections should start there and filter down to the State, District and School levels. And all school are equal and should be treated as such.

I was asked for my opinions and provided them don't want to start any arguments just provided my view of it all...... right or wrong it's MINE. Before you judge stop switch sides and see what we see. Our statements have not changed.:HitWall::thanks::thanks:
Let's get this straight...
this had nothing to do with whites vs blacks...
NOTHING to do with it.
NOTHING.

Still lives in the same house and sleeps in the same bed. Might not want to dig any deeper the truth might come. Just saying
Put your race card back in the deck crossover and take off your blinders. Race has nothing to do with the problems at Cordia.
I was a cordia supporter last year. I hated to hear someone like the crossover coming on here using the white and black card. Cordia got caught cheating period in black and white. :why:

:truestory:
I like Rhodes and wanted him to do good but you just can't blatantly house kids and give them money every month and buy their plane tickets and obviously break every rule in order to get good players to cordia. And it's a big difference in asking a player to come to a certain school or in Rhodes case ask them to come and pay their way and give them a place to live and pay their travel and pay their expenses.
So who is paying the bills now?
#1 Blackcat Fan Wrote:Put your race card back in the deck crossover and take off your blinders. Race has nothing to do with the problems at Cordia.

maybe not for you but not sure for all.... there was a lot of noise about these kids being at Cordia....... not saying everyone fills that way but I have been around long enough.... Racism is very much in society today and that can't be denied. However, I must add that I met a lot of nice people in KY and race did not matter but some of the things that Cordia students have had to endure has been horrible for a generation who didn't understand it.... And there is no way you can make me believe other school and kids endured the same...

Now take a second and look at it from our eyes.... EVERYONE knows that recruitment of players is an issue and will remain one as the levels of competition continues to rise. But to focus on these kids they way they did and for the communities who have practiced the same behavior they are accusing Cordia of and demand KHSAA to get involved..... really again I say it my opinion......But please do be deceived in thinking that this no longer takes place....

My son met some wonderful people but he also had to endure situations that was unreal and there are people who should be ashame..... In 2013/14 those kids should not have had to deal with situations they did..... and I should not have had to have some of the conversations I did.... Again not all people but enough. There are a lot of issues here no I don't feel Cordia was all right but neither do I feel KHSAA was all right either...... it appears to be a witch hunt..... just saying my opinion..... overflow from 2012/13...... Is it double jeopardy to rule on a kid more than once (everyone had been cleared).... the only kids of issue should have been ortiz and chapman because they were in question. And again I say to tell a father and child that it is not a legitimate move unless its a move with the mother is CRAZY..
^I am not saying racism isn't an issue in society. I was referring to your comment in your prior post. You seem to have been saying it was an issue in the Cordia sanctions. It was not. Is it an issue in society as a whole? Yes.

I will not tolerate racism period, but to say it was part of what brought Cordia down is just wrong. It had nothing to do with it.
So did Rhodes receive any direct individual penalties?
He can't coach for a year.
Even if another school picked him up.
I think you can say that everyone on Lotts Creek was surprised with the lowering of the hammer......
