Top 5 teams 15 region summer ball.
#1
JC
LC
SV
Pikeville
SC
It's early this is my summer top 5.
#2
You have Sheldon Clark fifth?
They have to be 1 or 2 after what I saw from them against Scott County.
If Pikeville is a top five team, I feel good about Harlan County's chances in the 13th. Harlan County beat them pretty badly in the AAU tourney.
#3
Take the top 5 listed above put them in cap and pick 1-5 and could be right, also couple other could be included. Teams in 15th are really close right now that is what summer ball has shown.
#4
Got a chance to see SC and JC this summer. Both are very good teams. Should be 1 and 2 to start 2014/15 year. JC beat SC twice this summer.
#5
I've watched Knott against many of these teams this year and I haven't seen a really good team. May just be that Knott has made these teams look bad. Knott destroyed JC at Upike camp and that was without the 3 Cornett boys.

I thought I saw on here a couple weeks ago Sheldon Clark giving Allen Central a hard time on a game they had won. Going on about it being Summer Ball and poking fun they should get Tshirts and Trophies or something. Good win for Sheldon Clark against Scott Co. I agree but I wouldn't put to much into a win in Summer Ball. I don't know how you could put Sheldon Clark at 1 in the 15th because it is JC till someone proves otherwise. Either SC has had some transfers or been hiding their secret weapon. Because I don't know how you could put them at 2 either ahead of LC the team that swept SC last season. I would put SC at 4 maybe. One win against Scott Co. in Summer Ball isn't gonna put you over the top of everyone in the 15th. You should have some Tshirts made, and I would go ahead and get Rings for everyone on the Team. :Shaking:

And don't forget about Paintsville so yeah I guess I would put SC about 5 in the Region.

1. JC
2. LC
3. SV
4. Paintsville
5. SC

JC & then SC......LC won't be able to just guard 2 players this year and let the rest go......so SC is a lot better right now then they were at the end of last year....they also beat Dunbar, East Jessamine and lost to a very good LCA team by 2 in Lexington.....and they have the 2 best players in the region
#9
Amen. These paintsville people need a reality check.
#10
^Excuse me. Are we even playing "Summer Ball"?
Nobody from "Paintsville" saying anything.
#11
1. Sc
2. Jc
3. Lc
4. Sv
5. Bl

Everybody from Sheldon Clark talking all this big talk and it cracks me up because they have never done anything in basketball. You won a couple summer games. Big deal. When those wins come in Dec and Jan you can toot your horn. I'm not even from the 15th region and I'm tired of hearing about Sheldon Clark.
#13
Why would you even try to comment anything about Sheldon Clark or the 15th region because like you said, you don' t know anything about it.
#14
I didn't say I didn't know anything about the 15th region. I just said I wasn't from the 15th. I follow 15th region all year long and I just said I'm tired of hearing about SC. They have never done anything in basketball. People had couple of their players hyped last year and I watched Knott Co go into Williamson Fieldhouse and make fun of them.
#15
Johnson Central at #1 until someone knocks them off. I understand Sheldon Clark had a great summer but its summer. Thats all i can say about that.
1 Johnson Central
2 LAwrence County
3 Sheldon Clark
4 Shelby Valley
5 Paintsville

How many times have people in this area got way to excited about a win in summer ball, only to play that same team in the real season when it counts and get blown out of the water.
If I had a dollar for every time I would be rich.
#17
Agree. Summer ball is good practice and gives a team an idea what they need to adjust or work on but in no way is a indicator of the coming ball season. During summer ball a lot of teams don't even have all their players. Some on vacation, some involved in other sports etc. So not taking away from SC on their win but like stated earlier they cannot be ranked higher because of summer ball. They have to earn their ranking in regular season play.
#18
I've watched summer basketball for 20 years and it's very much an indicator of what you can expect the following season. I've ranked the 13th and 14th regions that way for a long time.
After seeing Johnson Central and Sheldon Clark earlier this month, I'm very confident both will be among the top three to five teams in the 15th next season.
It's not quite the same as the regular season because some of the players aren't there for some teams, but it will give you a real good idea of what to expect.
#19
Summer ball is pretty good indicator competitiveness. It appears that the top 8 teams are really close. With JC and SC and Lawrence clearly top 3, if all kids play for Paintsville they could be in this mix of top 3 but who knows how many will survive football, but not much separation between top 8 or so. Most teams have had all of their players this summer in games I have seen only major difference is playing time for some younger or more inexperienced kids that will not happen in season.

I haven't seen Scott Co play this summer but I would guess this would be somewhat of a rebuilding year.
#21
Pikeville beat SC that's why there #4 in summer ball.

Pikeville beat SC at Pikeville but SC beat Pikeville twice on neutral courts and once was by double digits but I'm sure pikeville will be fine once they get all their recruits in
#23
LC played there bench players a lot this summer.
LC by far has the best starting 5 in the region.
This team will be very scary come season time.
JC and LC are by far better than the rest.
#24
Keep thinking that.......LC still has time to win multiple state championships as some of their fans were predicting last year.......
#25
Scott Co rebuilding? With over 2,000 kids in their school and Toyota in their backyard.....they just reload....they are a legitimate contender for the state championship every year.....
