I see Bell 8-2, Sourh Pittaburg will be hard to beat at south Pittburg!
Bell schedule is very solid and is strong as anyone in the mtns. 3 teams on schedule that could be 10-0 regular season. Remember I said "could be"!
1.Knox Central
2. Harlan Co
3. South Pittsburg
Don't count out Wayne Co

Get uses to seeing a differents offense from corbin. This runitupthegut an over tackle days are over. Bell county will haveto throw out the old defensive playbook. A new era of football has made it to corbin Air attack and ground attack.Just look at what happen to wayne county last year.my advice don't go to the concession stand for hot coffee, or you may mis corbin scoring a TD. :Cheerlead

That will happen when you lose 8-9 starters in both sides of the ball including your All-State QB. Guffey accounted for nearly 4000 yards of offense and 51 TD's.
Thompson is a good coach and has proven he knows how to build his team...but it is safe to say any 3A team suffering those kinds of losses will be expected to take a significant step back.

The air attack hurts your defense, look at all the offenses that have gone to it and see what happens to def. How many air attacks have won the state. Do not get to excited people can make you throw and unless you have a great passer it just hurts you. We will see.

Corbin Watch you are going to see a completely different team with talent. Corbin plays you at Campbell Field. They will have an old time crowd. this year Corbin has the coaching to go along with the talent. Wayne Co. had a great team last year. I cannot see the loss of one player doing that much damage to a excellent team. Pittsburg ????

Wayne lost a lot more than Guffey. They lost I believe 8 starters on both sides of the ball.
They were a great team...and they have nice talent coming up...but Wayne is going to have a lot of new faces playing on a team that played a lot of guys both ways.

I do not want to argue, I have already gone through this, HC has had big losses and now the Massey kid to W'burg. Middlesboro has lost 6 on both sides, and Brock would have made it seven , he will not last with the injury he has. They will now probally lose him in baseball. This stuff is not hard to find why do you say they have the same teams back? Corbin has not proved anything, I posted that HC and Corbin will be the best games. With your logic, we beat Corbin last year with the same team back.....and more.

Man you have no clue. Bell can play some pass defense too. You guys act like they put all 11 on the line every play. Every team is a different gameplan, that is called coaching and our guys do a decent job of it.

Yes they did they should have beat Belfry IMO. They were a very good team BUT they lost everything much like we did after 2012 season. They will be a year or 2 away but will still play some good football.

Everything you said are unfounded and not supported by any facts. All those teams lost a ton for 1 reason or another

There are two ways to view Bell County this year. One is with their name across their chest and their history. The other is what they look like as a blind resume.
One view would say Bell returns as much experience as any Bobcat team in many years with a Senior and Junior class full of battle hardened players who improved tremendously last year and was playing good ball in November when they pushed Central for 4 quarters. Last year was Bell's down year and by November they had grown into a quality team.
The other view is that Bell simply was a bad offensive team who never really proves themselves otherwise. They return a significant crop of players, but their numbers are historically down still and their depth still may not be there. No one emerged as a playmaker for Bell and there is no Robbins or Davenport you can count on to make the big play. Bell will be improved in 2014 but without the playmakers on the field they will continue to score enough points to beat the better teams they face.
I myself have to respect the Bell tradition of excellence and the way they played a very good Central team and expect them to be one f the better teams in 3A and the favorite in their district over an equally experienced Corbin team who was going in reverse come November last year.

You described it like it is and your post was excellent, I got my self in hot water with the BC fans because of my prediction which I stand by. I failed to convey to you that I was never saying that BC was anything short of an excellent team they do have a good team almost every year however this year is different in their class IMO this is the most competetive I have ever seen. I in no means ment that Bell was a weak team. I am telling you it will be tough.

I believe Bell will be much improved. The way the Bibcats played at the end of the year was very promising!!

Wow!! That is a lot coming back. On the offense what about D. I know that they had 6 seniors and a lot of Sophmores and Freshmen played last year.

Well, a lot of folks ignore my comments about football for some reason. I've never cared enough to try to find out the reason. But, I will tell you this...and remember it when we're halfway through the season.
Bell County is going to be the bomb this year. They will be stronger, and more prepared than the last 4 teams that have taken the field.
They are the real deal, and anyone who overlooks them will pay.
MY official prediction.

Granny you are probably the smartest one on here that isn't a bobcat fan!! At least you are using football knowledge and brains, unlike all these haters of the bobcats! Thanks and good luck to your Bears and Baby Zak!!

The defense will have around 11/12 kids that started at least 2 games last year I think? LB'ers you have Green who was leading tackler, Caldwell (2nd leading tackler and leading rusher), Swanner(who is 1 of the better looking HS football players I have seen in a longtime) and Collett. DL Miller, Hurst, Philpot and Collett. DB's Gilbert, Humfleet started and Muncy and Brock played a lot and may have started some games before injury ended their seasons. Not 100% sure??? Should be tons of experience coming back. I would think a couple of other kids will contribute!!

Well thank you snapcat!! Actually I am a Bell Co fan, when they are not playing my Black Bears! LOL I support ALL mountain football teams, but my heart belongs to Harlan County Black Bears!
One of these days, hopefully before I kick the bucket, I would LOVE to see an all mountain representation in Bowling Green.......

Entering into the season this is the highest probability of that happening with either Bell/Corbin vs. Belfry in 3A. Still far from being set in stone though. With the new alignment may be the last chance to see it for a while.
