Ashland Blazer vs. Johnson Central
Still can't figure out how their coach got the 3rd base ump to overturn the call!! ???

We need to be honest, Pulp Fiction. Since Bob Kouns retired from officiating, it is much harder for Ashland to get that home field/floor "edge". The automatic is no longer carrying his whistle.

Is that Ashland's head coach or just an assistant?
I love the shirt let me know where we can get these for all of our teams. I think we need to give them to every child in the district. I think it should say on the back of it that Johnson Central will be crying about this for the next 20 years or longer.
Great idea "BAD" CAT.. Consistant with the Ashland Tradition...

lol...ole Porter Wagner......I remember him calling some of my games back in the early to mid 70's.....I remember that kinky hair do of his back in the day!!!

And he's finally hung it up???? Must have been recently, as he called some games not more than a year ago, seems like..

He retired from basketball officiating after the 2012-2013 season. I believe he still calls football and baseball. As was certainly proper, Ashland recognized Bob at one of its basketball games last season and presented him with a plaque. I feel certain that no one else did so. If they ever form an Ashland Hall of Fame, Bob will be a charter member. Harold Sergent didn't do remotely as much for Ashland as did Bob- both regular season and tournaments.
They need to change the name of this web site from Bluegrass Rivals to We are going to whine about everything that happens. I noticed the river was up a little bit this morning it must be from all of the tears coming down river.

Hope its not up to high and collects some of that trash in Ashland.......Right BAD......:please:
I just saw a article about a LL all-star game from 1974 the game was in Inez. I'll give you the cliff notes of the story the team from Ashland had questions about the home plate umpire before the game. They were told not to worry he was a great umpire and would be totally fair so they played the game. The umpire was named Frank Horn who has a ball field named after him in Inez Frank Horn field. The whole point of my little story is it took us 40 years to cheat to you and win! Karma is a bitch ain't it!!!!
15 region is famous for shafting teams outside of the region.
You are a mess, Dream!
I just love upsetting the apple cart.

Hey there "BAD" cat that's probably about the stupidest ,more worthless, unrelated bunch of rambling that I've read on here....

Too bad that you're not smart enough to do it.
Well, at least two things are obvious. Ashland didn't really cheat, they just didn't tell the truth about the home run and American Dream is an immature adult or child.
So did the three umpires not tell the truth about the home run? There were three of them looking right at it. From what I gather, one of them called ground-rule double and the Ashland coach simply asked them to get together and decide which call was correct. Any coach, who cares about his team, would have done the exact same thing.

Any coach who respects the game and his opponent would not have done the same thing, They would have done the right thing.

Does he feel like he won anything by doing it this way.
So did the umpires cheat?
Definition of cheat:

: to break a rule or law usually to gain an advantage at something

: to take something from (someone) by lying or breaking a rule

: to prevent (someone) from having something that he or she deserves or was expecting to get

By definition the umpires, Ashland's coach, and the players cheated.
I went back and read every post again and I saw things on here that would have people in fist fights. I'm a immature adult or a child wow that really hurts me all the way to the bone. If you don't like what I'm saying send me a private message with your real name and number so we can really talk it over.

Oh I'd say that's probably about right. Nothing more than just a wannabee.

I just want to point out the irony of the KHSAA and the lip service they pay to "sportsmanship and ethics". They actually have, in their bylaws, a clause pertaining to sportsmanship and ethics in which they say school officials, administrators, officials, players, etc are expected to adhere to the highest practice of sportsmanship. They even say that, upon "competent" evidence, they can suspend participants if they violate it. Well, the two players who knew it was a home run in the outfield, the home plate and 1st base umpires who overturned the call would definitely be candidates for this penalty if the KHSAA were truly serious. Then of course, there is the Ashland coach and the 3rd base umpire. The 3rd base umpire may just be the most guilty party of the whole bunch. He has TWO colleagues who rule home run, yet somehow during the collaboration he manages to convince both of them to overturn the call and rule GRD.

It is over. Nothing can be done about it that will satisfy the Johnson Central fans, coaches, or players. That is a shame. But the KHSAA still has an opportunity to show they are serious by suspending some of those involved based on the principles of sportsmanship. I would gather that the video of the home run is likely competent evidence, especially in light of the statement released by the KHSAA that is WAS an erroneous call. I hope they do the right thing, but don't have a lot of faith they will. Time to move on to football, I suspect the JC/Ashland game this year will be extra testy. :argue:

PHSForever wouldn't it be something if JC took the entire softball team to Ashland if they play up there this year
:flame:
I have to say it is so refreshing to know that we have so many people that would admit to a bad call. I guess when they play football and if a ref misses a holding call the player raises his hand and goes over to the ref and gets the flag and throws it against himself. Tells the ref sorry but I was holding over here and you missed it so I through the flag myself. Good to see when a bad call is obviously made that we have so many saints that they would tell on themselves. Leave a base early and safe at home they go back to the umpire and say sorry you missed the call I was out. Bad this happened but guess what it's not the first time and it won't be the last. Shoot google bad calls and you can see many.
