This should have been a championship game not a 4-5 play-in game in a 5 team district. But it was a great game. Shame on the draw! This doesn't do kids or softball right.

I hate the blind draw. Arguably, two of the best teams in the region and one gets put out in a play-in game. This must go to a seeded tournament like baseball because this district isn't being represented like it should be at region. Not a knock to Lawrence or Paintsville, but i believe they both are under .500. The way it is done just eliminates everything you worked for in the regular season. They had a great record and they were not rewarded for it at all. This definitely should have been the championship game.

I am sure Magoffin is rethinking things right now.Wasn't it their vote that decided the draw.All it does is make our District look bad.And they get to do it again next year.

Seeding is the way to go. Blind draws do nothing but eliminate great teams and allow a weaker regional tourney imo. Just like this case, Magoffin and Johnson are both great teams. Have alot of friends in both places and these girls worked as hard as anybody in the region.

I agree, makes it almost unfair for the kids who have worked hard all season to have to sit out & watch the teams they've mercied go to regionals. however, magoffin voted for the draw, so it's almost fitting that they're not going. i feel sorry for the girls.

I don't think there should be a blind draw in any of the sports. It takes away from the importance of the seaso district games. I have no idea why Magoffin would want to draw. It was a slap in the face to the girls on the team. Adults making that decision, WOW! I feel they owe the girls to fix the problem and I have no idea how. Maybe the other schools will step up and do the right thing and decide to seed, but I doubt it. I agree that Magoffin deserved what they got with the draw, but it still doesn't make it right for the girls.The coaches and administration need to get it fixed. This decision will come back to haunt the other teams somewhere down the line. Make the teams earn their positions in the district tournament. Sad time to be a softball fan if you cheer for the 57th district.
