Coached Adair County 2005-2007 had a record of 4 wins 26 losses that would be a sketchy hire, just don't believe the powers to be would sign off on him and take a chance on not hiring the best resume. Headlines Corbin hires coach with 4-26 record won't happen.:eyeroll:

Like I said, I personally think that Haddix would do well but from what I am hearing, he's pretty deep on the list. More of an established coach seems to be the direction Corbin wants to go. If a candidate or 3 falls through, I could see Haddix getting a call but until then, I think he's on the long shot list.

If I were guessing, your main candidates would be (in no order).

Dudley Hilton
Mike Holcomb

Paul Raines (name I've not heard mentioned but seems to have a good relationship with Corbin)

Adair county isnt his only coaching experience....

Not very sucessfull at Union. Had 1 decent year. He actually just resigned a few weeks ago after being asked to step down. Lots of turmoil.

Coach Teague has coached in a lot of places. Corbin, Spencer Co. and the last 2 seasons at Somerset. He is well qualified and Corbin would be Lucky to get him.:Clap::Clap::Clap::Clap:

yeah it's hard to find coaches with a 4-26 head coaching record unless you look in McCreary county

Many coaches step down a level and do well. There are a lot of differences between Middle School to High School to College and finally to Pros.

I know a lot of guys who played for Reid at Union and they absolutely loved him. As for any turmoil, I'm not denying because I really have no knowledge. All I know from my limited interactions with him is that he seems like a great guy.

He's young enough to be at Corbin for the long haul, would know what colleges look for in high school players, and is likable that would be great for getting kids out playing football. He's also got a good personality which is what the Corbin coach needs. I think in the past, people felt more distant to the program because they weren't necessarily embraced by the man in charge. That's not saying Steve was a bad guy, he was just introverted and didn't embrace the public light aspect of the position. Reid would make an excellent hire as would some of the other applicants.

I just think at the moment, Corbin needs to hire away from the inside just. To create some breathing room so they can get back to prominence.

I have been watching highschool football over 44yrs. I have watch Philip Haywood,Dudley Hilton,Tom Larkley and Mike Holcomb in their younger days and i can see Justin Haddix name in the same boat at the right school that loves football. And corbin loves football., Just as i do mountain football. :Cheerlead

Let's me just say as a Bell County fan I hope they do hire Tommy Reid. The right person in there and they could be dangerous but with that hire they can't. JMO

I watched many of Tommy's (as HC and DC under Hill) practices and most home games at Union with some family and friends kids playing. Never was impressed with his practices or gameplans. He seems to be a very nice guy though.

I think it is a sign of the "new" way in High School sports. Very few jobs are bigtime anymore. With cutbacks and more state and national involvement districts can't fund those SUPER JOBS that high school coaches used to get. Everyone is expected to teach and every penny is counted. Corbin has made it clear that academics are far and away the number 1 concern, right or wrong it is the way it is.

Of all the names mentioned none of them will please the redhound faithful. Whoever it is they are coming into a no win situation. Good luck to them!!

Not dangerous for Bell County. It will be a blessing. He won't be able to coach he couldn't do it at Union what makes you think it he can do it at Corbin. He won't be able to handle the pressure. It will be a bigger help to the neighboring schools like Williamsburg, Whitley and Lynn Camp.
