Middlesboro Jackets 2014
#1
Now that we have a new coach announced. What are your opinions on how the season is gonna go? Could there be a Region or even a State Title in their future?
#2
Considering expectations anything less than a region title will be a HUGE disappointment. Coach Frazier drove this group of kids for 4 years to get a championship. Now with events, it will be hard to obtain those goals. Personally I think they will fall short. Hate it for the kids and parents but admin will get what they deserve.

Middlesboro will be hard pressed to match last season's record. Anything Short of a deep playoff run will be a disappointment . With Somerset, Danville and LCA in Dist. they will be pushed hard to win District. May not happen.

Middlesboro is no longer my sleeper team in 2A....Leslie county is. :Cheerlead
#5

#6
Nothing. All is quiet in the crater.
#7
The only media that has reported this is 106.3 WRIL on Twitter

All I can say is Wow. Are they ashamed of what they have done or what?
#9
Where will the Fraziers end up at.

I agree, don't think Middlesboro can pull it off. Somerset will be my sleeper team in 2A. Most have written them off as a down year. I think many will be surprised.

Sorry SUR, I have to agree with CK. No has dominated the mountain teams like Somerset. Although Somerset has lost some talent, I still think they are the team to beat. There is too much turmoil going on in Middlesboro for them to be successful. The Middlesboro gang is going to worried about losing and placing blame instead of winning.
#12
Would not surprise me one bit to see NCC and Somerset again in East Finals. In fact I kind expect it.

Don't think I've ever seen anything like it down this way. Total media blackout.

I just meant Leslie county was my sleeper team in 2A. Right now I think prestonsburg is the team to beat. :foreveralone:

I agree Prestonsburg will be a real good team and should win that District. Look for it to be Somerset and Prestonsburg in Region finals.

Any chance that Massengill will ask Frazier to help him coach?
Crazier things have happened!!!!
#17
I keep hearing how great they will be next year but losing Poindexter, Foister, and the big lineman (forget his name) will hurt. Those guys were awfully good.

Prater, he will be hard to replace. He was 1 of the better lineman in the state. #62 was a heck of a player also and I think he graduated.

I think that they will be replacing more than that. Those 3 seniors will not be replaced with anyone they have coming back. What about the Brock kid I heard he is having surgery after baseball season.
#20
Middlesboro will be the team to beat in the region. Somerset, losing 15+ seniors, will definitely be hurting next year. I really believe all the players will get used to the new coach and starting playing to their full ability. Those 3 will be hard to replace but i believe the jackets can climb over that obstacle and become a team that competes for the State Championship.
#21
If 3 was all they lost , they would have a better squad. There will be 7 starters gone from the team that played us.

I heard the same thing. If that is the case they can't replace them their JV wasn't very good and their middle school program hasn't been that good either. Not much coming in the future.
#23
They will be as good or better than last year..if they hit the weight room.

They won't win as many games. And I will say they don't win the district either.

Somerset lost 15+ Seniors the year before. That is every year stuff at Somerset. They will be down a little but with Castle Hatcher and Jordan Doan in the Backfield will be hard to handle.:rockon:

Is Jordan staying at Somerset? Last I'd heard it wasn't even an option.

Last I heard he was still enrolled in Somerset High School. As long as he is enrolled I still consider him playing there, One can only hope!!!1

I don't think JV records are very good indicators of varsity records. I have seen a lot of teams who had really good varsity squads year-in & year-out that never have good JV teams.

Same with middle school... The main purpose of those levels is to keep kids out and involved, IMO.

Oh I do agree. What I am saying is they don't have any players coming not going by any records. There is no talent coming for several years.

I guarantee they have a better season than your bobcats. They will be better than last year and that is a promise
