The A/D said that Mills could apply for the job again. For some odd reason, this whole scenario sounds familiar. Surely they wouldn't rehire him would they?:popcorn:

Surly this is not the case. But it is Knox Co. where anything is possible especially if it is going to hurt the kids.

Heard today that Mills had already reapplied for the job, I mean how do you fire a guy and not tell him. You have to wonder who is running the asylum up there. Well at least it gives us some hope,but you have to wonder who would apply for a job with this kind of stuff going on. You sure would not think many people outside the district.

If want to allow him to reapply, it shouldn't matter. He should understand that if your position is opened up, your probably not a front runner.also these contracts are for one year at a time. If your position is opened it means they are looking for somebody else. It's just another way to nicely let someone go. I spoke to guy today in the know, and he said this thing is wide open, and they are looking for at any and all applications.

I have heard that there is interest in the Garrard Co. job from Kevin Whitman the asst. to Randy Napier at Perry Central. IMO he would be a great hire in that he has worked with one of if not the best girls coach in KY high school history. Thjey have won a state championship together in 94 many district and regional titles, and he worked with Coach Napier on the 07 girls KY All-Srars and this years McDonalds All- American game (West Team) in Chicago. Any interest from Garrard Co?

He is not clueless. This is a CLUSTER---- from the get go. How can you fire someone and they not know they was fired. With the way this has gone down no one from outside the district will be interested and if they are they will have no head coaching experience so at best it will be a crap shoot if they are any good. So this will only leave in district personnel applying for the job and there is only one that has High School head coaching experience, and a couple more that have Middle School head coaching experience of them I doubt that Coach Abner will apply so you tell me this is not a CLUSTER?

Yes from what I was told very recent, you may be amazed how many apply and have applied from out of state and out of district.So no it's not a cluster I believe people will be shocked in a good way the coaching staff they may end up with. I trust our new supt. and New AD they want the best for the kids . So let's wait and see.

We can only hope because what they have done to the female athletes up there over the years is almost criminal,and I agree that our AD and Supt. want the best for our Kids. It's just the way this has gone down that has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Knox Central could be the best girls basketball program in the 13th region with the right coach!!!
* Great district and i mean GREAT district and will be in region tournament 9 out of 10 years.
* Good feeder program
* Very good talent every year. They have had the best talent for many years; 80's, 90's 2000!
What names are you hearing that is interested?

Williamsburg is open. Mills has put girls basketball at Knox Central into a deep slumber. They at one time were one of the best programs in the 13th.

I have preached this for years. And as for as the district this has to be the worst in the state. You said they should go to the region 9 out of 10 years. I would think it would be a lot higher than that. I'll throw one more out there for you. They have not won a region game in the Mills era, and have only won the district 3 times since they moved to the 51st. Here one more no team from the 51st has won a region game since the district was realigned.

I agree that Knox should be sitting pretty in the current district. I will say though that as bad as mills as been the administration has been worse. They seem to have been in disarray from top to bottom. I hope this is a new beginning for Knox!

I was so excited when Huelett was hired, being a former girls coach and AD I thought sure he would come in and straighten up all the sports programs and especially girls basketball. But it was just the opposite it was like he wanted them to fail and did everything he could to try to destroy them. Who ever they hire has a big up hill battle because the program at rock bottom. I'm afraid if they don't hire someone that's a proven winner the parents will never give anyone a chance to build it the way it should be built. We can only hope we get some quality applicants and they make a great hire.
