KHSAA Releases Realignment Numbers
DragonFire Wrote:KHSAA slipped out the list of schools playing up and down.

http://khsaa.org/football/realignment/20...lments.pdf

Highlands and CovCath up to 5A. Johnson Central got good intel, stayed in 4A. Immediate favorite in the east. A few other schools moved as well.

How can you make that claim? Before everyone called them chicken for saying they were going to move up to avoid Highlands and CovCath. Everyone said Highlands would remain the same and CovCath was going to go up due to being the second or third largest school in 4A, hoping to dodge Highlands. However, JC stays in their current class, HHS and CCHS decide to go up now JC got good info. Maybe they decided to play where they were and hope for the best. It is not like they had a conference call with the two schools and made some agreement then backed out at the last minute. It is what it is. Sounds identical to a post made on northernkentuckypreps.com. Reaching for a story line trying to make an off-the-cuff comment a fact. Districts will be interesting. Does Mason Co. move in to Ashland's district or does Rowan, Bourbon, Greenup and Mason break off to become one district? Interesting to see how it all shakes out. A toss up between 5A and 3A for the most difficult class now.

It was a joke. To be fair, this was the first alignment since the move to six classes that Johnson Central didn't make a request that would move them away from Highlands. In 2007 they petitioned to move down to 4A (out of Highlands' class). Upon being aligned there in 2011 they petitioned to move up to 5A (out of Highlands' class) for barely defensible geographic reasons. A great many assumed they would petition up to 5A to get away again. But mostly, I was just poking fun. It works out great for them.

And the same comment was made, because, you know, I made that post on the other site too.

As a JC fan, I'm personally ecstatic with this. We might actually get a chance to play for a state title now, especially with our 8th grade state champion team coming through the next four years. About time the KHSAA doesn't bend us over for once. Kinda gets old playing the #1 team in the world in the third round every year and never getting a chance to make the finals while you see worse teams playing on the carpet.
^on a smaller scale Raceland put up with the same thing every year for about 10 years. Seeing Beechwood or NewCath in rounds 2 or 3, playing a solid half of football, then numbers just beat us down and end up losing by 3-4 scores. Sometimes more. The worst was my senior year. Up 27-10 on NCC, they couldn't move the ball the entire first half, our smaller line completely dominated the LOS. Second half, different story. They rought out a fresh oline in clean jersey's and started platooning on the defensive sid of the ball. Ended up losing 46-27. They went on to beat Danville in one of the best state championshp games ive ever seen. It happened that way hear in and year out though. Seems like its the same way in every class though. A handful of teams are mainstays. With the occasional cinderella or dark horse story. It will always be that way.
How would you like to be Morgan Co. and Magoffin Co? The 2 year numbers (post storm) put them in 2A but the 4 year average enrollment number (pre and post) puts them the smallest 2 teams in 3A. Magoffin is out by .25 students? I have never seen .25 students dress on game day before....
Full deck Wrote:Poor Johnson Central. You all must be a bunch of crybabies. So if you dont like getting beat by Highlands, then get better. Quit crying. Highlands didnt win it all this year adn you all wasnt even good enought to play them this year.

Nobody is crying! You act like JC should be ashamed of losing to CCH the past 2 years! CCH had a good team last year and the year before! JC beat CCH in years past! I think the record between the 2 schools is 3 to 3 tie! JC played HHS as good as anybody else in the state has few years ago. We had a chance to beat HHS same as the Team that beat them in finals did! We didn't make the play that's Football!
Full deck Wrote:Not a crybaby, read your JC fan from above crying about getting bent over and having to play #1 team in world., never gettign a chance.

You JC fans are so SAD.

Here is to hoping you never make it. By the way maybe you can run teh scoreup on some poor canada team again or some team from the arctic.

Why do you care who JC runs the score up on ?? If JC and their fans are so sad why do you even care what class they play in??? You are just a TROLL trying to start some crap!

Who's your team? How have they done against Highlands lately? Or, how have they done against JC lately? Better yet...are they one of the teams that have been offered to play JC locally and respectfully declined the offer...? Perhaps call your coaches and tell them to pick us up and save some poor Canadian team when we can get a sacrificial lamb within much closer driving distance?

Nobody in the history of the world has never been jealous of a looser.

So... with all of these trolls coming out saying that is a bunch of JC "crybabies".... that shows that the JC football program is respected.

Why would some body "hate" on a team that people aren't envious of. No disrespect to Phelps.... but I don't see any threads about people hating on Phelps.

He's a Rockcastle fan. He's still raw about that ass kicking his rockets received back in 2006 at the hands of Johnson Central. Guys don't give this idiot the pleasure of a response. Things are very slow in Mount Vernon this time of the month. The check and food stamps are gone and he has nothing else to do other than get on here and be a prick.
RunItUpTheGut Wrote:Also, Conner and Cooper have requested to play up into 6A.

Whats this do for 5A?
Highlands and Cov Cath playing up is ridiculous to begin with, but now, two schools that would have been in there district wont even be there.
Not to mention Scott has dropped to 4A to allow these two to move up.

I say make them play where they belong. No exceptions.

Why is it ridiculous? Do you cheer for a 5A team and not want the competition? I am glad they moved up, the 4A district would have been terrible. I just wish Conner and Cooper would have stayed in 5A. Not sure why they wanted to move up except for the most obvious.
What this does to 5A is add two immediate state title contenders.
Will miss all the banter between NKY fans and JC fans! I guess JC will just have to talk about how they are as good as NKY teams if they can beat Scott. :lmao:

Don't be a two trick pony stack. Threesomes are always more fun. Dixie Heights looks forward to joining the 5A ranks as well.

What will the 3A Russell district look like?

Why would any coach want to deal with a coach that deliberately runs the score up on teams. Ever noticed no one has anything good to say about him but jc fans.

PM me you're address and I'll see that coach sends you a case...In you're special situation, I don't think one tube will suffice.Confusednicker:
Why can't everyone just play where the alignment puts them? It is clear that teams are moving up and down to get away from teams that make their road to the championship rockier. For teams that are supposed to be a particular class, they now get to play much larger schools so tbst smaller ones can move up? First of all no one should get to play down and secondly, how about creating another class for teams that don't want to play where they are aligned. All those that want better competition can go play there. All of the movement to 5 is ridiculous.
Class AA will be a mess, unless they divide it up into nine districts, lol.
My shot at 4a with the movement.

District 1: Calloway County, Hopkins Cent, MadisonVille, Hopkinsville
District 2: Franklin-Simpson, Logan county, Warren central, South Warren, warren east, Allen co
District 3 john Hardin, Western, Valley, Breckinridge
District 4: Collins, Franklin County, North Oldham,Spencer County
District 5: mercer, Taylor, west Jess, east Jess, Marion
District 6: Rockcastle Co, Clay County, Knox Central, wayne, russell
District 7: Harrison County, Holmes, Mason County, Bourbon, Scott
District 8: Ashland Blazer, Boyd County, East Carter, Greenup County, Johnson Central, Rowan County

Scotty_Bronson Wrote:What will the 3A Russell district look like?

Russell, Fleming, and Lewis for sure. You will probably have Pendleton Co as well because they are not close to anything else, kind of a AA highway district. You lose East to 4A and West to 2A. Gets cloudy from there. Current district 5 will disband with Bourbon moving to 4A and Bath Co staying in 2A. Estill and Powell will move in with Morgan, Magoffin, and Breathitt. Western Hills and Garrard Co will be joined by Boyle Co and LexCath. It will look different and will have some BIG names playing. 3A is stacked.
Gitback Coach Wrote:Class AA will be a mess, unless they divide it up into nine districts, lol.

If you are near or east of I-75 you are going to need a lot of fuel money to play in a district. No really good scenarios. Over half the teams in 2A are on or near the Ohio River from Ballard Co to Newport. Then there is another 9 between 65 and 75 south of the BG Parkway.

There are only 9 teams east of I-75. That is not good. 25% of the districts covering 50% of the geography.

I agree. Highlands and CCH moving just to get away from Collins is ridiculous!

I just hope that we get a home and away series going with highlands or cc as it would make for great preparation for playoffs. I loved those games regardless of the outcomes.

Why is it not ridiculous? Because you root for a school that gets to pick and choose what they want to do?

If teams are allowed to play up, they should let teams play down. Play where your numbers are. BTW, Im a Whitley fan, whether Highlands is in 5A or not, its not like your keeping Whitley from reaching the title game. They wont get there anyways, but if I were a 2A fan id feel the same.
Another reason the KHSAA is a joke. Highlands loses so lets redo the rules to make them happy. If your going to act like world beaters all the time, why not move up to 6A, which is where I would consider Highlands to be really challenged. 5A is weak. Nobody will stop Highlands in 5A. except Bowling Green. BG could have made it ugly this year, but nobody in the east will come close. Its easier to get to the title game in 5A than it is 4A in the east. But, why not move up to 6A?

I guess another year with Collins was out of the question.
Congrats Bowling Green. Was fun while it lasted lol.

You are right, KHSAA screwed it up. There are two many classes and it has totally screwed up the districts. If Highlands was to stay in 4A, their travel would be ridiculous for extremely poor competition. By moving up to 5A, they play district games in their own back yard with better competition. I do wish Cooper and Conner would have stayed in 5A and JC and Collins moved up to 5A, would have made for a very good class.
I bet PCC and LCC wish they would have stayed in 4A...
What about Franklin County to 4A...
